Ocean City Seafood

A small gem in Silver Spring, Ocean City Seafood is my go-to spot to purchase high-quality seafood at reasonable prices. The scallops are consistently tender and sweet, while the North Carolina shrimp is firm and flavorful. I've also purchased several fish (including swordfish, rockfish and snapper).The store always smells clean (never fishy) and the employees are engaging and friendly. Support this small business!

My worst experience of the cashier. The workers were friendly. However, the cashier a tan skin man was so rude and aggressive. It was my first time there as soon as they opened, 10am who is angry in the morning? The lack of customer service, I asked him did they wash the fish he got an attitude and ask me " am I okay? I accidentally leaned on the counter he said aggressively, " Don't lean on the counter" They are ONLY friendly to their people not to Africans, I didn't pay and left I will NOT spend money where I am not welcomed. Inhumane and Racist seafood establishment! I don't recommend, and I will never return! Look at their passive aggressive response from the business below, ridiculous most establishments would apologize and make things right instead they choose violence and prefer to argue with customers, see for yourself patrons, watch where you send your money!Mi peor experiencia de caja. First off, I was ever so excited to see and support a small business and just being released from getting total hip replacement surgery and moving slow as a turtle I walked in after locating this place on Google for raw clams. Upon arrival we were told that they do not, they could not/would not open and shuck clams for customers. Then told that the website could not have been When placing my order for a bag of clams a Caucasian male walks in and orders 3 dozen clams and I am then told I can have whatever amount leftover from the gentleman who ordered after myself and my partner. I was so disappointed and yet I maintained my composure made the purchase and left only to get home and as my partner opened and shucked the clams this is one of the clams he opened "see pic." Now today I have been vomiting and I am pissed!

Listen, this place is the TRUTH. I love fish but basically didn't eat it for a decade because I don't buy fish from commercial grocery stores in landlocked states. Sue me. I moved back to the DMV last year and tried a few places until I found THIS SPOT! It's now my spot. We have fish Wednesday's (hey my family isn't Catholic ) and the fish we've gotten here has consistently been fresh and AHMAZING. Their branzino might be the best I've ever had. No smell at all, fresh, fluffy and as an oily fish you never have to add much by way of seasoning. Nick remembers everyone by name and order, they also offer a TREMENDOUS variety of fresh seafood and their prices are exactly in line with what you would expect to pay for scrupulously fresh seafood. It's far better than supermarket quality, so don't expect supermarket prices. That said, anyone can fit it in a couple of tiles a month, especially if you have meatless Monday's and Taco Tuesday's ;)Seriously, try it OUT! He also sells almost anything you'd need to cook the fish so if you have salad and a bottle of wine at home already, it's one stop shopping!!!I LOVE THIS PLACE! My kids want fish everyday since we started going here, but I told the little freeloaders they could have fish sticks (*they're 2&6 and gagged at the thought*)Make the trip, it's worth it.

I found this little gem last Friday, after searching 4 other stores for rainbow trout. They're off the beaten path, but the store was super clean and had a wide variety of seafood. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door by Nick. I had lots of questions and he answered all of them. He's super nice! I got a couple pounds of the FRESHEST fish I've EVER had. It tasted as if it was caught that morning. Do your self a favor and go there. You wont be disappointed.

Great selection of fish to take home and cook. Service was excellent and very willing to offer suggestions and information regards to possible recipes or cooking techniques. Fresh fish is always a plus!Will he back !!

Selection and quality. Consistently the best quality seafood I have found in this area, and competitively priced.

Rude service. The man seemed nice at first but easily got offended and rude when asked a basic question any seafood business owner should know and happily be able to answer ("when does your seafood come in?"). We made a purchase to support regardless. Not sure what's up with the defensiveness but it doesn't help develop rapport with new customers. If you're looking for fresh local seafood I'd recommend MAS Seafood in Alexandria.

Very fresh fish that had no smell at all. The nice man working there recommended a good piece of fish which has now made us a forever customer . I'm glad to have found them .

The selection is fantastic, the quality is incredible, and the owner is extremely knowledgeable. For any seafood needs this place would be my first recommendation.
