Ny Famous Kabob

ugh. Food truck in Arlington, VA. It was OK! When I go to a food truck, I expect delicious food. But this was not at all!It was tasted like an American with no ethnic knowledge made this gyro. Won't go back.

As I noted in my review of them, I prefer the Halal Cart. But today, they weren't there. It's happened to me before, too.NY Famous is ALWAYS there. They have the basic menu - combo lamb & chicken over rice with salad, spinach & chickpeas optional.The food at Halal is better and a little cheaper. But this place is perfectly decent and conveniently located. And as noted, always there.The portion was huge and good enough. The lady in the cart was friendly and helpful

I tried the lamb and rice and asked for spicy. I was expecting something similar to the metro Halal cart down the street, but this is definitely unique. I enjoyed the lamb and rice, however I think the sides could improve (chickpeas). It may even benefit them to rid of the sides entirely and just offer the lamb with rice (and maybe salad). Although I requested spicy it was more flavorful than spicy, which I'm okay with, but I wouldn't expect any bowel problems with this level of spiciness. Not that I look forward to bowel issues. Overall I would come back here if I don't have cash on me. There is definitely appeal in them accepting credit cards. The main entree portion was good and it's close to the Rosslyn metro station, which is convenient. My meal was around $12 for a platter and soda, which I think is probably a little too pricey. Overall I am conflicted because the lamb was good, but it's a little expensive.

I have a slight addiction to this place. It's no greats frills but great taste. My coworkers all know which mornings I get stuck at the light at Ft Myer and 19th because after smelling the meats cooking in the cart I beg them to go with me to get some NY Famous Kabob.

This place is not fancy to look at, but the taste is amazing! The helping are more than enough for you to save some for later

so simple yet so amazing! i had the chicken and rice and the chicken and rice were both marinated/seasoned incredibly. and the owner is so nice!

Let me just say!! Get the lamb over rice or salad over rice! Amazing food, tastes great and good portions, sometimes when I'm not starving the food lasts me for 2 meals. The service is great and the lady that works there which I think is the owner, does an amazing job interacting with their guests. Overall 5 out of 5

Phenomenal, especially the specials. The Butter chicken, mushroom and chicken and lamb shank are all to die for. Can't get enough, normally go multiple times a week!

I had a major addiction to this place when I worked in Rosslyn. I now work in Reston and will make the drive to get it or make my husband bring it home for me. I have not found a copycat recipe even close. The chicken over rice is mouth watering to even think about.
