Nuvegan Cafe

This location is behind the 7 eleven upfront. You drive all the way back and find the four mile food co which is a food pick up zone having multiple restaurants. But they are not on the app, so it is best to call their number (202) 321-8057 or go to the website and place the order alexandria.nuvegancafe.com. I called the number and someone stopped by to help and collect the order. You could pay on the website or to them once they bring your food. I have been to their DC location which was fantastic. This is closer to me and I will consider doing a pickup from here if need be. Vegan with soul food is awesome. I personally do not know how much processing is done for their fake meat (drumsticks) but it tastes clean and delicious. I imagine it is home made and not super processed. Also, their sides collard greens and sweet potato are fantastic. Vegan soul food is a brilliant combination.

I can't describe in words how excited I am that I can get Nuvegan in Northern Virginia. Their chickn drummies and Mac and cheese is (I swear) my favorite thing to eat and I'm not vegan lol. I'm a regular at their DC location and have even been to their location in Richmond. I was Googling the Nuvegan in DC to check how long it would take to drive there when all of a sudden a different location popped up close by. Lo and behold my favorite restaurant ever has a new to go/delivery location! I mean honestly the best news I had all year. I did a pickup the first time and it's behind the 7/11 in what's essentially a ghost kitchen. Do not let that deter you though - the food quality is absolutely on par with their other brick and mortars. I've also done Ubereats delivery from this location and it worked great. Drummies come with buffalo sauce and barbecue sauce.

This is not a real restaurant! This is a back office type of kitchen facility that only cooks and packs the food for takeout and delivery. Don't come here unless you're an Uber Eats driver or picking up takeout!

i tried nuvegan for the first time via ubereats order. the MAC AND CHEESE, TOO GOOD! the crab sandwich was also pretty good, we enjoyed it. the lasagna i wouldn't write home about, kinda dry. i personally like my lasagna to be more saucey and tomatoey. i also was not a fan of the soup of the day at allll.. but i'm a return customer just for the mac!!

A new location for NuVegan! I'm celebrating 4 years of being vegan today and decided to order out from a vegan restaurant that I haven't tried, especially one that sells vegan soul food which I haven't had since leaving Atlanta. I saw the menu for Nuvegan and decided to try the crab cakes, sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese. The food arrived in separate containers which I appreciated. The crab cakes are a very nice size! The taste is 5/5 really good! The smell is even more exciting knowing what you're about to bite into! The accompanying tartar sauce is okay it's not bad, I didn't really need it to eat the crab cake which says a lot about how good the crab cakes taste I thought the mac and cheese was good, although I had higher expectations based on reviews I saw for the other location, however I'd say it's 4.5/5. It was just that the mac and cheese could've used a tad bit more seasoning to make it 5/5. Other than that, it was fine. Finally, the sweet potatoes 5/5! Not overly sweet but sweet enough to compliment everything else on the plate The portions overall were good enough for one person so no need to share. Food was fresh and hot upon arrival. I would definitely order from NuVegan again, and look forward to trying their other dishes.

LOVE this place. I've been going to their Howard University location for over a decade and I'm thrilled to now have them in Alex. Their lasagna, Mac and cheese and greens are my go-to but I also love the chicken drumsticks and cabbage. Basically, I've never had a bad meal here. The location can be hard to find (behind the 7/11, in a Food Coop shared space), and you have to call to order in advance or call when you get there. You can also order online but their business isn't showing up on the order screen there yet so you can't order from the computer stand there, you have to call or order from the NuVegan site.

Made an order for a timed delivery and over an hour later order was cancelled by restaurant with no call or explanation. #nuvegannovegan

I go here as a treat for myself and the food is always made quick and is hot. I typically get the chick'n drummies with mac & cheese, and the sweet potatoes; I always leave satisfied. My only complaint is that I wish it had a dine in area.

Great vegan restaurant in Alexandria. We loved the NuVegan in DC and were thrilled to hear there was a new one in our neighborhood. The food is great. We had the 'crabcake sandwich', collard greens and peanut butter smoothie. Delicious. We'll be back for more. The owner/chef could not be any nicer.

I frequent the Nuvegan in College Park and am a huge fan! Disheartened to say the Alexandria location was a bust. I ordered the streak and cheese sub (steak was overcooked to the point that I thought I may cut my mouth with the crispy edges, bread was only toasty on the very corners and tasted like it was cooked on a dirty surface) and mac & cheese (tasted like it was spiked with gasoline). Took two bites and tossed it.
