This is a hidden gem!! I'd only eaten Ethiopian food once in DC and I loved it enough to search for more in the area. This is a small, but cozy restaurant hidden in a strip of other Ethiopian places. The owner greeted us as we entered, and was very friendly and accommodating for our large party of 12! We decide to just get 2 deluxe platters which was more than enough for the 10 adults we had. It was honestly the perfect thing to order, because of all the things we got to try!! The lamb tibs were a family favorite (we love lamb). Chicken tibs were also very flavorful, tender, and yummy!!! We also got some short rib on the platter which was very good too. I wish I knew everything that was on the platter......ALL of it was good though and worth the price!! And eating it altogether with the injera was a fun experience. Definitely come here to try some amazing Ethiopian food!!

I went here with my wife's family on New Year's Day. I had never had Ethiopian food before and didn't know what to expect. We ordered two large platter combos (there were 12 of us) and the food was simply delicious. Lamb, beef, chicken, veggies, all of it was awesome. Nothing was overcooked or over spiced. I'll admit I felt a little out of place as one of only two white people there, but I believe that just shows the authenticity of the restaurant. Nobody made me feel unwanted or unwelcome, everyone there was having a good time and a good meal. 10/10 would come here again.

Went here with a group of friends since we were craving Ethiopian food, and why not try a new spot while we're at itThe Food: We had a mix of veggies and protein. We had to get the veggie combo for our greens, and for our protein, we got a variety of Tibs. All the seasoning and sauce for each dish were amazing and flavorful. All the entrees for each dish were cooked perfectly and the meats were tender as well. And once all the meat and veggie sauces soak into the injera underneath, it gets even better! The Service: Service was great! The waitress was kind and attentive to our table. And the food came out within a reasonable of time. Water refills and refills for our Injera were on point. The Atmosphere: The restaurant was nice and small. Great for groups to eat with each other and enjoy Ethiopian cuisine. The owner actually saw us and asked greeted us as well. He was very friendly and welcoming.Overall, a 5/5. Would definitely recommend coming here. The food and staff were great!

I had such a blast at Nazret! My husband and I decided to have a unique date night and it was definitely worth it. We decided to be adventurous and ordered a variety of dishes without knowing the portion sizes. We ended up having leftovers for days! This place offers happy hour every day and the prices for beers are really reasonable. Since it was chilly outside, I opted for a comforting cinnamon hot tea. We tried a combo meal and another dish with lamb, and both were incredibly delicious with amazing flavors. There were a few lentils we didn't enjoy and some were spicy, but overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. We're already planning a double date night here in the future!

Let me start by saying..I usually post more pictures, but each time I come here the food is so tasty that I forget to take a good picture. Nazret is top notch Ethiopian cuisine in the Alexandria/Falls Church area. I have eaten at a ton of various Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurants in VA/DC and I must say that Nazret has the best Shiro out of all of them. Chef Endalk is such a pleasure and always greets us when we are there to make sure everything was perfect . Highly recommend this spot if you love flavorful injera (their teff injera is some of the best) and Ethiopian cuisine!

This is a monthly ritual for us. We love this place. We first came here looking for something different many years ago. We didn't know what to order. We just looked at everyone else's tables and just asked the patrons if it was good. We copied what they ordered and was amazed. We've never gone wrong with any recommendations. The restaurant is located on the backside of the shopping center. Be careful driving in the shopping center. Lots of potential holes. Food is great. My recommendation is to try something new each time.

EASY 5! A must try gem in the area! Everything we had was amazing!! We ordered the awaze tibs regular platter and everything on that platter blew my taste buds away! We also ordered the shiro fitfit and I can honestly say I have never had anything like that. Served cold with many depths of flavors. I also tried the Sambusa as an appetizer. We had a few leftovers and even after sitting in the fridge cold the leftovers were so tasty! I will be back very soon!

We were in the area shopping and we were in the mood for some Ethiopian food. Nazret was one of the yelp recommended ones so we decided to grab some food for takeout. We tried the quanta firfir(dried beef bits and injera simmered in spicy stew), yebeg tibs (seasoned beef sautéed with peppers/onions/tomatoes), as well as the kitfo. 1. The quanta firfir: It was well made, the beef was soft but crunchy at the same time to make a perfect contrast with the soft/moist Injera, would definitely order again. 2. Yebeg tibs: I would order this again as well, the lamb was not over cooked, which I was really happy about because most places would have tibs with so much flavor but the lamb is over cooked. Personal preference: I would have liked more heat to it3. Kitfo: the kitfo had a lot of spice and flavor but it was a bit oily so probably my least favorite item. 4. Sambusa: didn't get a chance to take a picture because we devoured the Sambusa on the drive home, it smelled amazing too. It was warm with the perfect amount of crunch on the outside and perfectly soft inside. The place is small but cozy, has good ambiance, it is filled with traditionally inspired modern artwork. we went on a week day so it was not too crowded. The owner was very friendly, he was actually helping serve people and he saw us waiting for our food by the bar so he made a point to chat with us and ask us about our experience. The bar is fully stocked! Would definitely would go back again when around the area!

The food was outstanding and the service excellent, but it was the Ethiopian pop music videos on one large screen and a Champions League game on the other that made this place perfect.
