We're so excited to see a new restaurant in Old Town North! That space has been teasing a new restaurant for a while now, so it's awesome to see one stick! We went on opening night a few weeks ago and we had an awesome experience! You can tell everyone working in that restaurant is passionate about their food and service. We had the pide (vegetarian and meat), the hummus, and two other recommended dips. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We will definitely be back to Narman!

We are Turkish food super fans and were really excited for this place to open in the neighborhood. We ordered hummus, baba, spinach with yogurt, garlicky yogurt, fattoush salad, and a meat and cheese pide. Flavors were sub-par to mediocre, but we may have ordered again to try different dishes if it weren't for the terrible value. What you see here is more than $90 worth of food. Each deli container was max 1/3 full, cost $12+. HEADS UP: We ordered four, and they came with a single piece of bread. We called to ask if this is correct and the person on the phone said you had to request bread for the dips--that she included one (for four dips) as a courtesy. Pide was OK. Fattoush wasn't mostly fillers (radish city). I hope it's just growing pains and I'm open to the in-person experience being better.

Love love love Narman. It was easy to find, and the parking was free & nearby. We decided to celebrate my husband's birthday at a Turkish restaurant. He was in the mood for Lahmacun (sounds like Lahamajoun) super thin, crispy pizza topped with a mixture of minced meat with peppers, tomato, herbs, and spices. More fine, light, and delicate than the typical American thin pizza. The service, drinks, and food were beyond stellar in Narman. We felt like the only customers there and were waited on by many staff. The highlight of the day there was their pizza and their beverage presentation and flavors. We came on a weekday night and were the only people there in the end. My husband was impressed at how upscale the restaurant was and it was the finest Turkish restaurant he ever visited. He said it was similar to the hotel dining place he lived at in Turkey. This was our first restaurant in downtown Alexandria and one of our best experiences in Alexandria. The Lahmacun was the finest Turkish pizza my husband ever had. He ordered three of them! Each pizza was served on a large wood board with extra toppings on the side like lemon wedges, cilantro, and onions. They are so fine and thin that you can roll them up to eat. We had to put some of the last pizza aside for take out. I ate the takeout piece and was very impressed how delicious it was after being in the fridge overnight & re-heated. I loved the flavors of the Lahmacun and I don't even care for pizza that much. It is my most preferred pizza in my life ever next to the Crazy Ex in The Thirsty Goat in Clarksville, Tennessee. I ordered a Turkish dish with a rich and ancient history, Hunkar Begendi, or "Sultan's Delight." It dates back several centuries, and it was prepared for the sultans and high-ranking officials, and was served during special occasions and celebrations. The Hunkar Begendi had lamb and velvet soft eggplant with spices. I ordered it with a side of rice. It was very delicious and unique. Yet the Lahmacun despite its simplicity stole the show and cost 1/3 of the price of the Hunkar Begendi. For my beverage, I ordered The Elma. It has a stunning presentation in a smoke filled glass box. The Elma is a beverage with Bourbon, Peach liquor, vanilla maple, Apple butter,Lemon juice, and Apple cider. You have to watch the videos of how it is presented at the table. At the end of our dinner, they played happy birthday and surprised my husband with an ice cream and pumpkin dessert with a candle. So wonderful & heartfelt. It was a fascinating and flavorful dish. The pumpkin tasted like sweet potato & was different. This is a must see place for Turkish cuisine and the finest restaurant service. Prices are low to fair for such high quality food and service. Five Stars.

Beautifully elegant restaurant. Definitely a five star service from the time you enter until desert. The Turkish Lahmacun tastes better than I remembered it ever being in Turkey. I ended up ordering three orders, because of it. My wife had the Hunkar Begendi (The Sultan's Delight) with a side of rice. That was a definitely a delight. The staff surprised me with a birthday gift with song which entailed two slices of pumpkin with nuts, savory sauce, and nuts. I didn't even know I liked pumpkin until I ate it all. So delicious. No wait for a seat and felt like private dining. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the management and staff.

Excellent food! Superb service. Elegant dining rooms. Phenomenal drinks. So excited this has opened and is a 7 min walk from home. We'll be coming here often for sure. The live music was a lovely touch as was the complementary dessert at the end of a delicious meal. It's usually hard for vegans like us to find enough items on the menu but there was plenty to order from. The brussel sprouts were especially good. We'll be back for sure.

Authentic Turkish cuisine recently opened in the heart of Alexandria. Award winning Executive Chef Sanjak Demirji born & raised in Turkey has created an exciting menu that will have you coming back to explore the many amazing choices. If Sanjak has the opportunity ask him to play some classic Turkish folk songs on his mandolin. Great service to boot.

Went here with friends for dinner last night and it was mid. We started with the trio of cold appetizers with the beet dip, spicy yogurt dip and the carrot dip. The only one of note was the carrot dip it was delicious. The "pita" they served with it was very thick and pretzel like which was unusual. We also had a flat bread that was very good. For the mains I got the scallops which were ok but the orzo it came with tasted like boxed Mac and cheese. My friends were also underwhelmed with their mains the portions where tiny the ingredients were lower in cost and it was way over priced. Our cocktails were very good though I got an espresso martini that was amazing! And my friends old fashion was very good as well Dessert was mid as well I had the baklava and it just tasted like crisco. The decor was very basic as well. Service was fantastic though the wait staff was very nice and attentive I would say this would be an ok place for happy hour but the meal was not worth the price tag unfortunately

First time at Narman. Food was excellent and I'd want to return to try more of the menu. Service was friendly and attentive. Work was being done on heat that day so it was cold in the restaurant but I'm sure that would change.

Our group of five went to Narman's for the first time last night. We walked in without a reservation, were warmly greeted and promptly seated. We chose a number of starters, all of which were terrific. Brussel Sprouts with Cashews was everyone's favorite. Calamari with Jalapeño Mayo was also tasty. For a main course, I had seared scallops served with orzo pasta, a seemingly odd combination that worked quite well. Others in our group had main dishes of lamb and beef, which they enjoyed to such an extent that our lively conversation turned somewhat silent while we focused on the food in front of us.Narman's is new to Old Town in a space that other restaurants once filled but later faded. Based on our experience, we plan to return and hope others will give this new establishment a try.
