It was a Sunday afternoon and we wanted to take my mom somewhere for dinner - she's not picky, but since she's an experienced cook, it is difficult to get her to compliment any food.We were seated quickly when we arrived, and there were a few other groups already at the restaurant, but there was plenty of seating for us.We were drawn to the Nanjing area food, especially to the Nanjing Salty Duck, which the waitress informed us was the manager's own handiwork. It was very good, so I do recommend getting that.Other fare was ok, we got the Jiangzhe Style No 1 Mix Bowl, you can get that with spicy if you want, or not, but we got it mild spicy. There's many ingredients in there, and it's a satisfying bowl of soup - definitely not for just one person though so please share it with your group. The squirrel fish was also a hit, fried very crispily.Overall, my mom didn't have compliments but she didn't complain about dishes being not worth the money, or that she could do it better at home, so we succeeded.

This is a pretty decent chinese restaurant in a small mall area on fairfax. We ate here a couple of times, and the servers are very friendly- but we ordered takeout the most though and the food never disappoints. They are also pretty nice about adjusting menu items like asking for "tomato with egg" when it's not on the menu and also making some small changes to dishes. Definitely a great place if you want some traditional Chinese dishes in addition to the usual takeout chinese american foods.I would say their Uber eats prices are the same as dine in prices, so you won't be saving much pick up yourself, though.

Our second time here and has now become one of our favorite places to eat out at! Some must haves for us are the string beans and the mini pork buns. Then we enjoy trying two new entrees. The service here is insanely fast. The food comes out super quick which is really nice.

While waiting in line at Yu's if you can get better food here. We've missed this home cooked meal for long time. some food that simple but showed finest of ingredients and cooking skills of chef in back of the house. We went this place after try to get in Yu's noodle in freezing cold Saturday and found 30 mins waited line. then saw the sign of shop. Why if it a try after peek at window and saw all Chinese customs sitting inside, something must be good. and I got my answer... another favorite restaurant Food not overwhelming by sesame oil, good balance of flavors not over salt or too sweet. If you are in area or want to try good food, this mom and pop might be your answer

Feels like authentic Nanjing, eastern Chinese cuisine. There are some very traditional types of dishes that won't appeal to the those used to foods that are loaded with sugar. I would definitely recommend that everyone give this restaurant at least a try in an attempt to broaden your culinary experiences.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The menu is extensive and the food is very authentic. I almost went there every week recently. The food tastes great and prices are reasonable. A few dishes I ordered many times: cumin lamb or beef , braised pork belly, sweet and sour fish (squirrel fish), pork buns, Nanjing wonton soup, and string beans .Highly recommended.

Food 7/10Service 8/10Ambiance 4/10Food was more on the sweet side. We got the braised pork in soy sauce, spicy dry hot pot, crispy beef, and three pepper stir fried spareribs. Mix of hit and misses.Hit : Three pepper stir fried spareribs. The spareribs are coated in a batter and has a lot of flavor. Ok : Braised Pork in soy sauce was surprisingly bland but nit a bad thing. Was just expecting it to be more flavorful since it's braised. The sauce is very watery. But the pork was very tender and had good layers of fat and meat. Ok : crispy beef was crispy but too sweet and the dish was fulled more with celery than actual beef. We've had better.Miss : Spicy dry hot pot here must be a nanjing version, because it taste and looks nothing like a normal dry hotpot. It was saucy, not dry. The best thing in this dish was sadly the potato slices.

I think The food quality has gone down. Last year in May, I ordered the whole fried fish for my birthday and it turned out very salty as if the chef mistakenly swapped sugar for salt. It was inedible. The fish was still perfectly not rotting away after 3 days on the counter due to the amount of salt that unintentionally preserved the fish. We don't order from them that often after that incident. Service is non existent and food is mediocre to say the least.

I have passed Nanjing Bistro many times. For some reason I never went in and assumed it served Americanized Chinese food. How wrong I was! Nanjing Bistro is as authentic as it a great restaurant. I have now been back twice in two weeks. The salty duck and the tripe appetizers are very tasty. Last week I had the fish for two. Deep fried with a delicious coating and drenched in a sweet sauce that is out of this world. Also, very friendly service. I highly recommend Nanjing Bistro! Check out my photos! This is seriously delicious food!!

We have been there about a dozen times and the food is pretty decent. Nothing spectacular but nothing too terrible. There has been at least 2 occasions where I ordered take out hours ahead of my pickup time and when I arrive, they haven't even started my order. Whenever this happens, they make me wait for at least 30 mins. Please be aware before you order take out.
