Nam Viet Restaurant

In an area with many great Vietnamese restaurants, this is my favorite. My family has been dining here (and getting take-out) since the mid-1990's and the food has remained consistently great ever since. The staff is always friendly and attentive.My go to orders are the fresh garden rolls with tofu and either the Grilled Chicken with jasmine rice (the chicken is served on wooden skewers) or the combination fried rice. I also like the lemongrass tofu with mixed vegetables and the crispy spring rolls.My wife and kids also love the Pho Bo (Beef), the Grilled Beef with rice vermicelli.My only gripe is that they close at 8p on Fri/Sat. Other than that, this is an excellent restaurant that I highly recommend.

This restaurant is one of the OGs of the area in Clarendon known as Little Saigon 20+ years ago. Before all of what we know as Clarendon today this restaurant was part of a collective that were predominantly Vietnamese businesses. The ownership has stayed within their family and it's a staple of the community. Excellent soft shell crab in a hearty portion (somehow larger than last time; paper box is also superior to their previous smaller box; doesn't smother crispy fried crabs). We got the other classics too: mixed grill combo; mixed appetizer combo, and tried a new one, namely their garlic rice noodle stir fry with shrimp and chicken. Ordered for self pick up on the app Chow Now and it worked seamlessly. Food was ready and well packaged when we arrived.

Finally visited Nam Viet Restaurant for lunch. A friend of mine raves about this place - so I wanted to try it out. It's a bit of a cruise for me from where I live, so I combined it with a couple of other visits in the general area.After looking over the menu - I already knew that I was going to sample their Pho Ga. The menu only lists one size - so I went with that.The Pho Ga came out in slightly less than 10 minutes. The plate of aromatics was fresh and in fine fettle. I first tasted the broth, then added in all the accoutrements.The noodles were slightly clumped, but I teased them out of the clump. The chicken broth had a slight hint of sweetness. Most of the chicken was tender - but I had two pieces that were tough and chewy.Overall, a good bowl of Pho Ga.Nam Viet does not currently accept Apple Pay - so I paid with cash.Service was good.#NamVietRestaurant

Every 6-8 weeks, I come here for one thing and one thing only: Can Tho Crispy Glazed Baby Back Ribs. The meal is pretty simple, but so delicious: deep-fried baby back ribs coated in a sweet and salty fish sauce glaze. The ribs are always served piping hot, paired with a bowl of jasmine rice. The sauce is so good, you'll want to dump the entire bowl into the fish sauce glaze that floods the plate just to sop up every bit. Service is always very fast. The restaurant is huge, but I've never seen it packed; it seems like Nam Viet is the go-to spot on Clarendon, though, for takeout bc there are always multiple patrons and food delivery drivers coming in and out to pick up orders every time I go.

Been eyeing this place for sometime now, wondering what that pho would taste like. Finally stumbled upon them when my taste buds were wanting something different and tasty.. Boy was I on the money!!! The service one the walk-in was exactly how it should be. Inviting and calm, we were seated right away. The restaurant was empty but got full up quick for the early evening rush. I was able to indulge in a pork belly with shrimp along with jasmine rice.. when I tell you this awoken my chakras and align my energy just right. My lady had grill chicken with vermicelli.. she loved it but me I was in love with it. I was thinking of getting a to go order but realize I'm being alil greedy. I will be return to my new pho spot in Clarendon..

Let me tell you, if you're looking for an authentic experience, look no further. The food was absolutely delicious! I can see why they've been around for so long, the flavors, the texture and the portions were just right!! Service was speedy and friendly, which was another plus. There's plenty of room for large groups and they have a variety of specialty cocktails. We will be back!!

great food, quick service, easy to walk in, and closer than eden center. menu is fairly large and has a lot of the staples and some specials as well. Ordered the garlic crab noodles (good, nice chunks of crab, but wanted a bit more garlic/oil flavor), the bun cha (I think this is hanoi pork with vermicelli on the menu, great dish and delicious caramelized pork), the bun bo hue (great and filling, spicy soup), the fried spring rolls (big and delicious), and an iced coffee which was great. Will be back to try the soft shell crabs.

Generous portion of noodles and meat. Broth was flavorful. Egg rolls were thick and crispy! Definitely coming back. Great customer service.

Nam Viet is a hidden gem in Clarendon, with a wide variety of delightful menu options, including a delicious vegetarian noodle soup (yes, with vegetable broth!) for us non-meat eaters. The service is fast, friendly, and responsive. On a cold, rainy, winter evening, you do not have to go all the way to Eden Center (also wonderful) for authentic Vietnamese food. We will absolutely be back!
