Coffee Shop No. 443MQR CafeFalls Church, VAOctober 29, 2024I went to MQR for the Kunafa French Toast with no expectations of a cortado, but to my delight I saw that cortados were on the menu. Naturally, I ordered the cortado to accompany the Kunafa French Toast.O...M...G!! The Kunafa French Toast was absolutely divine, scrumptious, and might be my new favorite dessert. The cortado was equally fantastic. The barista absolutely knew what he was doing. When he handed me the cortado he said, "The milk to espresso ratio is perfect. Hopefully I got the milk's temperature right." I nearly skipped back to my table, because I couldn't wait to taste the cortado which was made by someone who obviously appreciated cortados as much as I do. Perfection! I loved it so much I decided to go back and order another espresso drink. I asked the barista to make me his favorite latte. He was hesitant to suggest one, but the cook was absolutely decisive. He hollered from the kitchen, "Cardamom! Make the cardamom; it's your best one." And the cook was knew exactly what he was talking about. The Cardamom Latte was heavenly.MQR is a great shop. The food is delicious. The staff is engaging and friendly. Thankfully, I don't live closer because I would be 20 pounds heavier. Go order the Kunafa French Toast!

Came to this cafe after hearing about it on Instagram. It's a small, quaint spot, so once you sit down you'll be pretty close to other customers. The food comes out relatively quickly, so you won't be kept waiting. I think overall the food was okay, we got the levantine bagel, the kunafe french toast, the labneh toast, hummus with spiced beef, and za'atar fries. We liked the za'atar fries the most, it was fried nicely with za'atar flavor. The hummus was fairly standard hummus, nothing to phone home about. The toast had a delicate flavor, nothing was the star ingredient. The french toast was nice and sweet and fluffy, a pretty conservative french toast - if you like sweets, you'll like this one. And the levantine bagel was also fairly good.Overall, it was a nice cafe but rather crowded. Maybe wait for the hype to die down, the crowds and recent social media hype will not make me return in a hurry.

4 stars: good food, drinks, and vibes; would come back to try other foodsTL;DR: cute interior and picture worth drinks and food; nothing was stand out crazy good but everything was solidCame here for a coffee study date and the space is adorably decorated. There are many tables (regular and high top) and a bar area in the back. Unfortunately, most of their tables are not accessible to outlets, so this place seems more a chill and talk space, which it is perfect for. Service is nice, quick, and attentive. Their system with running food and cleaning up is fantastic. FOOD: ~Iced Americano (4/5): solid~Biscoff latte (4/5): good flavor and could taste the coffee. Couldn't get much biscoff flavor unless I got a piece of the crumble on top~Kunafa french toast (3/5): it was fine. It was definitely missing the umph of flavor. But very pretty for photos~Harissa egg sandwich (4/5): great flavor and ratio of ingredients. Egg could have used a touch more salt, but otherwise pretty good~Breakfast potatoes (2/5): Came with the sandwich. Was bland, soggy, and overall not great~Harissa french fries (5/5): May be personal preference, but the fries were nice and crispy, and I loved the seasonings on top. A little spice, acid, and salty flavors. ~French Fries (4/5): so nice and crispy. Solid choiceThis place is cute and maybe would be open to trying other things on the menu. It's quite a hike for me, but if you're in the area, it's worth a try.

This coffee shop is located in Barcroft Plaza shopping Center. Interesting location for a coffee shop, between a ABC Store and Harris Teeter. I think it's where the Chinese carry out use to be! THEY HAD THE BEST WINGS & MUMBO SAUCE!!! Hands down! My grandmother put me on wayyyyy back whenStarbucks is in the same shopping center with a drive thru. This shop was packed on a rainy Saturday afternoon and I felt extremely claustrophobic while I waited for my drink. I ordered a small Pistachio Oatmilk Latte' with an extra shot of espresso.Honestly, I should've just went to Starbucks & ordered a brown sugar oat milk Cortado or even a triple tall pistachio oatmilk latte for what I paid for this drink. And my wait was crazy long. Some people came after me received their drinks/orders before me. I guess I can check this place off my list. I wouldn't come back here but they have awesome reviews so if it's your cup of tea- enjoy! Happy Yelping!

I came here specifically for this toast and it did not disappoint! The texture of was crispy yet soft and it was not overly sweet despite the cream inside and orange hint syrup to pour over. It was also a decent size, perfect to split between 2 people. They also had unique drinks flavors I will definitely come back to try such as biscoff latte, Dubai chocolate latte, and I am always a sucker for good pistachio latte which they also have on the menu. Will definitely be back!

MQR Cafe recently opened down the street, and I finally had the chance to try it today. The cafe is small but cozy, with a clean and simple interior design. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of hot and iced coffees and teas, as well as breakfast items and sandwiches.I ordered the Grilled Cheese, which was simple yet satisfying. The bread was perfectly toasted and buttered, and the combination of cheese and tomato worked well. I also tried the Brown Sugar Cream Shaken Espresso, which was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. However, for the price, the size felt a bit small. The Mediterranean Chopped Cheese was large and flavorful, making it perfect for sharing. Be sure to try a side of Za'atar fries or Harissa fries to complement your meal.Overall, my experience was pleasant, and I'd definitely return to explore more of their coffee options.

Stopped by here for a late breakfast after my wife saw it on a TikTok. We placed an order for a Levantine Bagel, a Harissa Egg and Cheese Bagel, the Kunafa French Toast (main reason), a Pistachio Latte, and a Biscoff Latte. Pick up time was only 15 minutes despite being absolutely slammed inside the restaurant. The place had a good amount of seating and every seat was filled. The Kunafa French Toast was pretty hefty and with the syrup, it wasn't too sweet but had a great crust. The Levantine Bagel came with zaatar cream cheese and honey which was so good. Probably my favorite thing we got. The Harissa EC bagel was advertised with beef bacon but it didn't come with it. Sandwich was ok but was definitely missing the beef bacon. Both lattes were good, also not too sweet.I would absolutely come back for that Levantine Bagel alone but I want to try the rest of their food menu as well.

The bagels here are amazing! I've never had beef bacon before, so I was excited to try it. It's a slightly different flavor and texture than pork bacon that goes perfectly on a hot bagel. I'm kind of a bagel snob, and I really really enjoyed their sesame bagel with beef bacon and Swiss.I also had the seasonal biscoff latte - I recommend getting the larger size when ordering drinks for cost efficiency. The latte had a great flavor and everything seems really well thought out.

Buttery, toasted GOODNESS! Ok, I wanted to see what all the hype was about so I went out on a blistering Saturday afternoon and was not disappointed. MQR is a cute little bustling cafe with limited seating, but don't let that deter you! I did take-away and my Kunafa French Toast was crispy (even when I got home), buttery, nutty and not too sweet. I enjoyed it in the comfort of my living room with the SO. Ordering was a breeze since I knew exactly what I came in for and despite the large number of fellow customers, service was efficient. No one seems to mention the amazing, light filling inside the French Toast. Creamy, a little thick, not too sweet and compliments the bread. Enter the sweet whip cream, thick and delicious, AND the loose orange "syrup" and you have MAGIC. Will definitely return to try their sandwiches.

Casual cafe spot that serves excellent french toast! This place gets packed on the weekends however people come and go often so it is not hard to grab a table here. We came and ordered the kunafa french toast and chicken shawarma. The french toast is so so good! The bread seems to be some kind of brioche so it is very soft - it is also well toasted so you get a great crunch on the outside. There is a syrup on the side that is quite sweet so I used this sparingly. The chicken shawarma was tasty however they definitely use some kind of tahini in their sauce (not a big deal at all unless you are allergic to sesame like I am). Their menu online does not mention anything sesame/tahini related however it is definitely present in the wrap. I did not ask the staff regarding the ingredients so this is by no means their fault at all - however I do wish they had listed this in the menu description.
