Moules were superb. Enjoyed every bite.
Bone marrow
Although this photo of the upper level is enticing, the female owner is a TYRANT with very poor Customer Service & Listening Skills.

I made a nice drawing of a new friend that added culture to place and improved my memories of this nice meal.

Although my experience here was simple and limited, it was delightful. After stealing a few bites of fries that were cooked to perfection off my friends' plate while eating on the main level, the rest of my friends went upstairs to the second floor lounge to grab a drink. And just wow...the space was stunning, the gorgeous bar taking front and center stage.Since it was a Monday night, we pretty much had the space ourselves and I was surprised just how big the upstairs lounge space actually - plenty of seating, dimly lit but bright enough to not feel too sultry. We all ordered martinis and although each one of us ordered a slight variations, the bartender nailed it. We did notice that the olives used are super salty, so of course that made the brine a bit saltier than I would like, but the bartender made my martini perfectly with just a splash of olive.I love knowing that Minetta exists, tucked away so cutesy in the alley. Definitely will make my way back over here in the near future!

Minetta came in as a highly recommended restaurant. I love the way it stands out in its location. As soon as you open the door, it's a portal to another world. Staff is very considerate, The bone marrow was AMAZING. The minced shallots marinated in red wine gave the savory marrow a subtle sweetness.I order an old fashioned as my first drink at every bar/restaurant; Elijah did not disappoint. This place is an easy recommendation if you're looking for upscale dining with bar seating if running solo.

My visit started off great and we sat at the bar and were greeted by bartenders Tim and Mark. My buddies from California were late and I enjoyed a bowl of moules that were out of this world. The bar tenders were super nice, attentive, polite and professional!Be forewarned, there are NO restrooms on the main level! Your ONLY options are to go UP a flight of stairs OR go DOWN a flight of steps to visit the restrooms. We went upstairs and were told of their NO PHOTO[S] POLICY & NO HAT POLICY. We were seated in the middle area on a sofa and one of my friends engaged in a professional conversation with a group of girls next to him. Out of the blue, the same lady that previously "WELCOMED" us to "HER" RESTAURANT. [SHE CLAIMED TO BE THE OWNER]; she then Fabricated a Fictitious "STORY" contending he was "HARRASSING" the female patron. The polite women at the table asked to hear my Christmas cricket joke. It's a polite funny joke that consists of only a few words. This lunatic woman maitre de demanded I not tell the joke to the ladies that had just requested me to tell it. She yelled at me not to tell the joke. I was in between the nice women and this crazy lady that said she was the owner and the women did not want to hear my 10 word joke. This maitre de owner demanded me and my California buddies leave the upstairs and called security. She demanded we vacate the upstairs immediately and informed us she had prepared a "BEAUTIFUL" table downstairs for us. She started yelling at me for no reason when I asked her politely why I was being forced to leave, with NO RESPONSE. Before I knew it, I was surrounded by 6-8 body guards, bouncers and other staff. When we got downstairs she brought us to a filthy table that had NOT been prepared. My friend pointed out to her that we went from a comfortable sofa adjacent to the warm fireplace to the worst table in the building, right next to the front door and very loud. Literally 8 times I attempted to state my position and she cut me off. Finally I sternly advised her that she has "HORRIBLE" LISTENING SKILLS" and this comment infuriated her and commanded that I was NO LONGER WELCOME AND MUST LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. So we all left. This is a horrible way to treat first time customers. For all of these reasons I cannot in good conscious recommend Minetta Tavern to anybody considering this establishment. I've been to thousands of restaurants over the past 60 plus years and NEVER been kicked out of ANY restaurant for NO VALID REASON[S].UNCONSCIONABLE & REPREHENSIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!Needless to say: I WON'T BE BACK!

We ordered a rare black label burger and a French dip during brunch. Overall, while the service was top notch, the food was below par.The rare burger came nearly medium well. The au jus was very sweet and the horse radish on French dip was barely noticeable. Also, there is no natural light in the main dining room, which might be fine for dinner, but I could not recommend it for brunch.

Upon walking in, you are greeted by delicious. Jazzy tunes and the décor of a fifty's diner, combined with a nostalgic restaurant.Mezcal cocktail- delicious. Mezcal is an acquires taste. Pina Verde - a lighter, more refreshing version of a Pina colada.Chocolate souffle - tasty!

Overall:Dined in February 2025. Food was great, service even better! Would highly recommend.Food:We ordered the crab croquettes, roasted bone marrow, branzino, and burger. Everything was very well-prepared, appropriately seasoned, and with good portions. Would recommend every dish that we ordered.Service:Absolutely phenomenal. We dined with our infant child. They were very accommodating. Multiple people came in to check in on us. There was a mistake in our order not making it to the kitchen, and multiple people made a point to apologize and offer us a complimentary drink or dessert. Ambiance:Has a speakeasy feel. Very clean, appropriate spacing, not too loud. They did a good job separating parties. Good if you are looking for a night date night but also amenable to younger families.

Definitely lived up to the hype we got the bone marrow to start and then I got the burger. The bone marrow dish was so good. Very rich and savory perfectly paired with the bread that comes with soaking up everything. The burger was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Drinks wise I got a few beers and a mezcal cocktail. The mezcal drink was well balanced and had the smoky spicy flavor. We also went to the bar upstairs afterwards. Both were great and nice and fun. Service was great at both places. Really nice and helpful when picking out items on the menuBoth the bar and restaurant have this classic look of a steakhouse. The upstairs is beautiful.

OUTSTANDING. Look, we can't take photos and use our phones upstairs at Lucy Mercer's, but all I can say is GO. I was blown away by the atmosphere and professionalism of the staff. The newly introduced Lamb Ribs is PHENOMENAL. I am a not joking when I say this, but it's cooked to perfection and the glaze, well, taste like fruit loops. Yes. Read that again. Don't be weirded out. It's awesome. No, I wasn't drinking beforehand and my homie who keeps it real laughed and agreed. Maybe it'll catch on. The Ivory and Roses cocktail was delicious and the New York steak was also prepared to perfection - I definitely could have had a side of Mashed potatoes with that dish!Everything is meant to be shared and live in the moment next to the fire. They feed it and keep it stoked.I REALLY wish I could have taken pictures upstairs, I know I take amazing ones and was upset about seeing some guests breaking the rules, but I must maintain my integrity. The experience is unmatched and they want you to live life and be in the moment. Treasure the company you're in. I would recommend any celebration here at Lucy Mercer's Bar upstairs.

I was able to get in on the first night, and the staff was friendly and welcoming, though there were some typical opening-day hiccups. The Black Label burger was really good, but I found the hype around it a bit overstated. The chocolate soufflé, however, was incredible--a must try. I'm looking forward to trying more items in the future. The Lucy Mercer bar upstairs has a great atmosphere and excellent craft cocktails. But try to visit soon, as I've heard they'll be limiting access to the upstairs space soon.Overall, Minetta is a fantastic new spot in the neighborhood for a post-work drink, a romantic dinner, or a celebration with friends.
