Their food truck came to our apartment building a few weeks ago. While they were here, I got 2 cupcakes. A strawberry one for my husband and a salted caramel one for me.My husband really liked his strawberry one, even though he wished the flavoring was a little stronger. The cake was moist and the frosting wasn't overly sweet. What impressed him was that the strawberry flavor was also in the cake part.My cupcake had a vanilla cake and a salted caramel frosting. The cake part was moist. I found the frosting to be a bit too sweet and the salt flavoring was there but faint. Only after I finished eating the cupcake did I pick up on the salt. Like most places that offer something with salted caramel be it candy or a cake-like product, they went too easy on the salt. A little more salt and the cupcake would have been truly top notch.If I came across their truck again, I would definitely try some of their other cupcakes. Plus I would recommend others give them a try.

I have no idea how good the cupcakes might be, as I didn't order them. The moment I spotted the low carb cookies my mind was set! Thank you Aaron!Here's the deal- no business is going to risk its reputation on a product unless they truly believe that it is at least as good as similar items out there. They want people to buy it once and then to come back and to also spread the word. These cookies are so good that I feel the need to spread the word, and I'm trying to figure out how to find the truck again. Keto diets are extremely low carb* and paleo diets avoid wheat** which makes them lovely companions in many specialty dessert recipes. Almond flour is a great replacement for wheat and is low carb. Add other quality ingredients and you'll end up with a winning concept. Add knowledge and experience and you'll end up with these delicious cookies. We bought two six count bags. Chocolate chip (2.9 net carbs per cookie) and iced lemon (.9 net carbs per cookie!) which cost $10 each. This is when I realized how important it is to have someone nearby to help you share the bag, because without a partner your brain will tell you to eat all of the cookies in one sitting. They were delicious! Three of us shared the treats, which are sweetened with monk fruit and are soft and crumbly but which did not fall apart in the bag on the way home. The lemon cookie was our favorite. Almond flour was an unexpectedly perfect pairing with lemon, and the final product was almost cake like in texture. My diabetic mother was happy that she got to have more than one at a time, and we were all so sad when the cookies were gone. I don't know what kind of magic happens in Aaron's Midnite kitchen, but I'm willing to taste anything he conjures! (*there's more, but this is the important bit right now!)(**yes, again, so much more, but let's get back to the cookies!)

This was an unexpected, unplanned simply delightful treat. I stumbled upon the truck on 12th St, NW near Metro Center and decided to indulge. I chose a vanilla cupcake with lemon icing. I love that you pick your flavor/icing combo. Great idea so that you're not boxed into pre-determined combinations and it's so simple and quick for the icing to be applied (or not) to your cupcake of choice.When spotted again I will definitely buy more than one and maybe share!

My absolute favorite cupcake truck! Everytime they are close by I always make my way there to get my fix. I love how they put icing on the spot too so you can mix and match your cake and icing flavors. The cake is perfectly moist and the cream cheese icing is the best! I've tried pretty much every cake (well except pumpkin, just not a pumpkin fan) and icing flavors and have not been disappointed with any of them. Forget about those other ones with long lines around the block. These are 1000x better! I hope they open a location in DC or Arlington.

My review is solely based on me not being able to find this place despite numerous trips to this location. I asked around and no one knew. I see most of the reviews are old, so maybe they moved to a different location. Not expecting an update during covid anyway, but I hope the owner jumps back into business after and makes this place easy to find. Best wishes!

Awesome! I went to an event today and this company was one of the food trucks there. I had the lemon cupcake with strawberry icing. It was a perfect size and it tasted sooooo good. I recommend them to everyone! My friend had the lemon cupcake also with the lemon icing.

I visited the food truck at Lenfant plaza one day for lunch. The cupcakes were okay. I thought it was weird that you have to give the flavor of frosting/cake combo but whatevs. I'm pretty sure I could make better cupcakes at home and for the price I prob will. Because the flavor didn't knock my socks off I'll be skipping this place from now on.

This truck visited our office park today and we looked online to see what our options would be. The choices online on the flavor calendar I guess do not apply? I was really unclear on that and disappointed when I went to place my order and the flavors listed on the white board did not at all match what was advertised online. I ordered cupcakes any way and they were delicious. The truck gives you a choice of cupcake and a choice of frosting then puts the frosting on in front of you. I originally chose 4 different cupcake flavors but after seeing the chocolate cream cheese cupcake, I changed all 4 to that. We did 2 chocolate icing and 2 vanilla. The cupcake itself was delicious and the frosting was not overly sweet and tasted fresh. I will definitely be going back for more and hopefully more flavors will be available.

I visit this food truck near my job as often as I can, and their cupcakes are heavenly! i love the fact that I can select the type of icing I want for my cupcake! Packaging is simple but cute and perfect for my little peice of heaven! You must give them a try!

Easily one of my favorite DC cupcake trucks!! That means a lot coming from a cupcake fiend! There's plenty of cupcake trucks in DC so what makes Midnite Confections different? They let you mix and match cake bases with frosting flavors so there are endless possibilities! There's always at least 5-6 cake flavors and frostings to choose from. After you pick your cake base, they hand-pipe the cupcakes right in front of your eyes. It may sound insignificant but the excitement of watching them personalize your cupcake with your choice of frosting makes my cupcake-filled heart flutter! Service is always friendly and the cupcakes are always delicious, no matter what cupcake/frosting concoction you pick! Highly recommended :)
