This is a convenient place for healthy "grab and go" food. Due to the large campus, people will pay higher prices for the convenience. The Hoyas snack shop isn't terribly far. If you are a visitor or don't have time to schlepp to another building you won't leave the area. The chilled areas include prepared sandwiches, yogurt, croissants, pastries, sodas & water. If you want a toasted item, you have to toast the bagel yourself. The toasting machine is efficient. The plastic knives aren't enough to cut the bagels. The bagels are so big that they get stuck in the bagel cutters. My friend liked the coffee. The seating area was convenient and comfy.

Coffee, food items and in the library. Can't beat this for a little snack . Reminded my boyfriend and I of this coffee shop in Raleigh, NC called Cup A Joe. Midnight Mug...make a Voltaire one day and you'll have a fan for life.

The resident coffee shop located in Georgetown University's Lauinger Library is quickly becoming a favorite. Since I am a coffee snob who prefers to brew my own coffee, I try to steer clear of coffee and stick with the special tea drinks such as the pygmalion. A friend introduced me to the drink and I have been hooked on it every since.

This week, I've sen a rat twice in the cafe, rushing behind the coffee machines and the fridge. None of the employees seemed to worry about that, though.

Can't say how many times I have been here for coffee, they are open pretty late and have a good selection. The Americano is strong and well done. They sometimes run out of decaf, but I have always enjoyed the coffee here. They have a good food selection too, but would appreciate some more gluten free options. The food is also pricey, so good thing to keep in mind. Cafe seating is great: comfy couch and good music adds to the ambiance. Overall, my Georgetown experience wouldn't have been the same without the Midnight Mug!

First off, the name is very misleading. This so-called "midnight mug" is not open midnight. It's only open until 6pm. And the coffee came in a cup- not a mug. When I ordered a toasted bagel, they gave me a bagel, that was not sliced in half, and i had to toast it (with the inefficient toaster) and saw it in half (with the awful plastic knife). You also have to put the cream cheese on yourself. When you order a latte, they put way too much milk in it. The bagel was very mediocre. They were quick though and you can pay with FLEX dollars.
