Mid Atlantic Seafood

Technically, this review is about Dessert by Mid Atlantic since this was listed as the name on Grubhub. I ordered from Dessert by Mid Atlantic (I assumed that it was a bakery of sorts) because it was one of the few places that delivered desserts after 7 pm. For our order, we went with the Red Velvet Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Apple Walnut Bread Pudding. Overall, I thought the desserts were kind of meh. The cheesecakes were edible, but they tasted a bit bland. I can't put my finger on exactly what was, but something was missing flavorwise. I thought the bread pudding was pretty tasty. Since the bread pudding was about $11, I was a bit disappointed with the portion size of the dessert. I wonder if the bread pudding comes with ice cream when you order in person at the restaurant, which should be the only reason why it's $11. While nothing was horrible with our dessert order, I have a feeling that I might pass on another opportunity to have desserts from this place.

Catfish was really crispy and flavorful.The kale and potatos were great.Portion were so huge,had to take some to go.It was very busy upon arrival and we had to wait for a while for the food. Apart from that,it was a great experience.

The order looked like it was picked over the greens was all over top of the chicken. There is not potato salad and no cornbread the only thing they got right was the Half and half.

Breakfast food doesn't disappoint! Only downside is the employees were talking over the food quite a bit, singing even.

I usually do a pretty good review...good, bad or indifferent. Today, I have received food undeserving of ANY feedback. This has never happened. Yes. It was THAT bad.The meal: *Butter beans (no seasoning AT ALL)*Cabbage (not one flake of seasoning)*Fried whiting (swimming in grease)*Fried shrimp (swimming in grease)Gave them a try because I'd gotten fried catfish from them before that was quite tasty. Oh well.

This place has it all...and I mean ALL the good! I love their red snapper combo, and let me say this...you get your moneys worth! We live right down the street and love getting take out from here! The staff are always working their butts off to make the food hot and ready. They've never screwed up our order and everyone friends or family come to visit us in DC, we make sure to order from here. The place is a bit dated and old looking, but who cares when the foods this good!

I really wanted catfish and from another restaurant close by but parking was a nightmare so I found myself back at Mid Atlantic. I had to update my previous reviews however, and in spite of the awesome communication and customer service from the manager Eric because of a few things I experienced during my last visit. I almost always try to place orders for carry-out online so I can to eliminate waiting in lines and tried to do just that for my order that night. I put everything in the cart, indicated that I was picking up and a tip option came up. Since I'm carrying out, I did not include a tip and proceed to the checkout screen...except that I noticed that the tip was still there. Thinking I'd made a mistake, I went back to the previous screen to remove the tip and despite my indicating a $0 tip, a 10% tip somehow made its way back into my cart. I tried to remove it a few more times but with no success. I could see someone proceeding to checkout and not noticing the included tip, which I'm hoping is an error and can be corrected. Because of the issue online, I went inside to place my order the old fashion way. There were 2 ladies in an exchange with the employee that took their orders because they'd been charged too much for the daily special and they were NOT happy about it. Lastly, while I always enjoy the catfish, the sides are another story and they need new recipes ASAP. Throw them all away and start over! Everything looks like it comes from a can and is minimally doctored up, if at all, to taste halfway good. My candied yams and Mac and cheese were flavorless even though, to their credit, they give really large portions. It's a waste though because both sides went into the trash. I will only order fried fish a la carte going forward or until something is done about those nasty sides.

Catered an order through Mid Atlantic with only a 2 hour notice. The food was amazing! The timing saved me and pick up was on time and ready to go. Seriously can not recommend this place enough! I ordered a platter of fried shrimp, cornbread, Mac & cheese & sweet corn! My office couldn't get enough of the flavor.

I ordered the baked turkey wings, mac & cheeses & collards with cornbread. Their food SLAPS, never fails you. Very well seasoned.

Their breakfast is a rip off. Just the most basic sandwich a bacon egg and cheese cost around $8.50.No sides nothing. Their prices are expensive.
