Updating my review since I haven't written one in over a decade. This place is still solid. Still the same small local spot, still huge portions. I look at the one star reviews and am sad because this place is pretty good. The chupe de camarones is supposed to be a chowder/soup... So I'm kind of laughing at the one star review that says it came out soupy.... That's literally what the dish is supposed to be. Normally it is a bit thicker and more on the chowder side, but I think the flavor makes up for the wateryness. It's so large that I couldn't finish and the to go container was like the size of a sherbet bucket. The tamale was really good and the chicharrón wasn't overcooked. I don't like it when it's too dry and too fried and this was pretty good. My spouse got the leche de tigre which he liked, but I really liked the cancha (fried corn kernels) that it came with -- they do a really good job with them. Crispy, not too dry, nice and salty.Overall I'm glad this place is still here. I think the local Peruvians know it's a solid spot so it's still standing... Don't let these picky reviewers keep you from trying some authentic no-frills Peruvian cuisine! If you're a patient but true foodie you won't be disappointed.

It's not an enjoyable task to have to update a five star review and shed stars, but it's gotta be done. And giving three stars is pretty indulgent in my opinion.Last night we arrived at prime dinnertime to a curiously quiet restaurant. We had the same server as on several previous occasions. It was not a good omen when this lady took JP's order and walked away without asking me if I wanted anything. JP called her back and I placed my usual order for Camarones a la Crema (shrimp with cream). JP had also ordered this dish in addition to an aperativo (appetizer) of chicharrones con yucca (pork rinds with yucca).I didn't sample the chicharrones but note they were of the "wet" variety, more like roast pork. The hot and fresh deep-fried yucca was kinda good but still excessively salty.Shortly thereafter we received the camarones a la crema. They looked okay except today the sauce was very thin and flooded the beans on the plate. I was so disappointed on the first bite of shrimp to discover that the shrimp were tough and flavorless, completely without seasoning, not buttery and tender like the two previous times.Also odd is that the menu specifies that this dish comes with half a baked potato. But each time I have ordered this dish they forget the potato and I have to request they bring it out. When I asked our server if they had changed cooks, she said no. She was completely indifferent and unapologetic as to the poorly prepared shrimp. I might come back here, but it won't be anytime soon.

Wifey and I was in the area. I ordered her and shrimp quesadilla which came with fries, sort of unusual, however the fries were very good, so we welcome the surprise. This place is very authentic from the building, ambiance and service. The music and TV is pumping out authentic stuff as well. Nice and cozy place. I highly recommend and will definitely be back for sit in dining since the take-out was on point!

Mi Rico Peru is a very good place to get Peruvian food. It is not fancy decor or plating; it's is basic good food served from a very good staff with a positive attitude. I've eaten here a few times. The trio fajitas plate is good, but not glamorous. The sauce is too much like tomato sauce and the cut of steak is mildly tough and lacks flavor. Overall, it is still a good plate, especially for the inexpensive price. The last time I ate there, I had steak tacos. Again, good tacos, but needs more flavor. Overall, this Mi Rico Peru is a 4 star for the genre of restaurant it serves. I'm not comparing it to 5 star dinner. It's a 4 star compared to other local ethnic food restaurants. This Mi Rico Peru is a recommend.

Tried for the first time. I'm a fan of Peruvian chicken. Trying to find the best local spot . This may be it ! The chicken was 4 stars, but the beans and plantains were 5 star. So tasty. I really enjoyed it. All for just a few bucks more than fast food ! Healthier by far. I ordered to go, although they have a small dining area. Staff was pleasant, even though I am an English only speaker.

Went for a pickup order a ceviche and chupe de camarones. The ceviche was so salty I brought it back in the added more lime and gave back to me it still was very salty. She said she would make me a new one when I got home and tried it, it tasted as if they just added water to the ceviche it had no taste no flavor. She definitely didn't just prepare it because the fish wasn't fresh. El chupe de camarones was terrible no seafood taste there was three pieces of shrimp it was very disappointing we were really looking forward to having a good meal

If you like ceviche, this is a place to try. There are multiple options, all fresh and in large portions. The atmosphere is honey and unassuming and the staff friendly.

Ordered Lomo Saltado, Cerviche & Horchata for pickup. All were great. They came with separately wrapped sauces which weren't needed because the food was tasty enough without them.
