I haven't been here in almost a decade as I moved jobs around 7 years ago. I had time off and thought, it's a beautiful day, I miss having lunch at Ballston and sitting outdoors with Mr. Khan's chicken Biryani dish with channa. I hope this cart is still operating.Looking into the questions here, and a review from several months ago, I wasn't sure as it seemed Mr. Khan had some health issues. I texted the number listed on the yelp page, and he responded immediately that he would be operating on Wednesday. I went today, and his food is still delicious and brought back memories. Most people will eat here b/c they are walking around and see a cart outdoors. For a destination like my situation, you'd want to text him the morning of to see if he's operating or not. Support him as he's coming back from a major medical procedure and his food is still delicious!

Food was fantastic!!! Saw this place on Yelp and thought we would give it a try. It is a small cart so it was a little difficult to spot while driving, but we found it!! Now we know where it is located! The food was phenomenal and fresh!! My fiancé and I both ordered chicken over rice and asked for it not spicy. The chicken was tender and flavorful, love the white sauce on top! The salad was crisp and the chickpeas... oh my goodness! The man working asked us if we can handle a little bit of spice and we said yes. The chickpeas have a little kick to them, but they were so good!! I'm glad we didn't skip out on them. The man working the cart is so friendly and helpful. That always makes the experience great!! The wait for the food was not long either. Definitely come order food from this cart!! It will not disappoint!!!

Definitely not your traditional halal cart flavors. We ordered two Chicken Over Rice, one with Chickpeas and the other with Squash. The food had Indian flavors instead of halal Mediterranean. It also lacked a multi-dimension flavor profile, which caused it to taste very homemade. The owner was super nice. He emphasized that the food was made daily and that the squash was homegrown!

Absolutely delicious and for a great price. I try to go at least once a week and almost always get the combo over rice (and when I am feeling indulgent, a samosa with a delicious chutney). In addition to one of the most flavorful chicken dishes I've ever had, it comes with a little bit of a "veggie side". The chick peas and spinach are both great, and I actually prefer the chick peas over Ravi Kabob (which used to be my favorite). The owner/server is also very nice, and has been out there during the pandemic when business has been slower, because less folks are working in nearby offices and eating at food trucks. Try it, and you will not be disappointed!

You say goodbye, and I say HalalHalal, HalalI don't know why you say goodbyeI say HalalThe food here is absolutely excellent. On the other hand, the service and some of the worst I've had in my life. So considering the food is somewhere between a 4 and a 5 - closer to 5 - the fact that the guy was absolutely awful to me and treated me as if I was the worst person in the world just for asking what he recommends and what is good leaves a bad taste in the mouth, and causes them to lose a star. I guess it balances out the wonderful taste in the mouth by the attitude problem. But what an attitude problem. Seriously. I ordered the combo over rice, and then asked him what else was good, and he stopped what he was doing, like I'd insulted his mother, took one look at me, and assumed that I was some kind of fancy hipster (which if anybody reads my reviews you know I'm actually somebody that eats $5 back street ethnic food rather than anything that has ever been near garlic aioli raspberry preserve locally-sourced sh**). And he started yelling at me "nothing fancy here. Everything is good. What you expect from me." As if I had attacked his very honour.I don't get it. Why the hostility bro. Your food is good. Get over being mad at the world. I was actually asking for my Yelp research. Betcha wouldn't have treated me like that if you knew that, would you. Yeah, that's what I thought.**I accidentally wrote a second review for this. Here it is.Not as flamboyant as Metrosexual Halal Food Cart, and probably not as tolerant of it, either.Based on the food alone it would have just about scored five stars, or perhaps four, because it was pretty tasty and fairly cheap. However the service is some of the worst I've encountered and it's more like one star. After ordering I asked him what else was good and he had a little bit of a hissy fit - just because of my question, which was asked in the most gentle and genuine way possible - basically treating me like a hipster, as if I had insulted him by asking what else was good. Everything is good he said angrily, but if I want fancy stuff, I came to the wrong place, we have nothing fancy here, we just have what you see on the menu, we are a food truck, why you ask this question. All that could have been said in a nice way, a funny way, or even a matter of fact way. But it was said in a hostile, defensive, angry way. Kind of ruined the good taste of the plate, really. He continued, nothing is fancy, so if you're looking for fancy stuff then go somewhere else.Trust me, I'm not fancy, and trust me, next time I will.

Yum! Amazing food and good prices! A friend recommended this place and I am glad I tried it! The guy that makes it is awesome. The chickpeas are absolutely delicious. I can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu. However, the Only thing I want to mention is that it is spicy! I didn't realize how spicy and asked for medium spicy.. I barely survived. So if you don't do well with spice, I recommend saying no additional heat. I'll definitely be back though.

This food truck is my favorite. I'm usually hesitant with food trucks Bc of sanitary reasons. I walk my dogs and pass this joint everyday. I notice that this one had the longest out of the 10 food trucks parked on N. Stuart St. I love chicken tikka Masala and this was under the specials menu.Accepts cash and credit card. Generous portions for the price! It was like $9!

Love Metro Halal, best in the area! I used to work right by there but now it's a bit of a hike for me. Anyway, like I said before, it's the best in the area so I make the trip. Get the gyro over rice, maybe a samosa or 2 and you won't regret it.

Best spot in Ballston for a reasonably priced, healthy meal! Mohammad is the man; he loves what he does and really takes pride in his food. I come here at-least twice a week and look forward to it every time!
