Menya Hosaki is a ramen restaurant located in DC. They're ramens are very unique and delicious. Their ramens are also well priced and in my opinion extremely fair for how delicious it is. The service is great, they are nice and efficient. The ambiance is nice with friends at dinner but I think the music is a bit loud if you're eating by yourself. I've included some pictures of some ramen I had here, all of them were delicious . Some other things that I think should be noted is that their Tuesday lunches are rotating bowls and they don't do take out for lunch.

Menya Hosaki is a ramen shop by Eric Yoo, and this first-come, first-serve type of an eatery gets packed pretty quickly! We came in on a dreary day, and decided to sit up at the bar, which was a great way to see the preparation of the ramen. We ordered:+Karaage - served with yuzu mayo; the yuzu mayo was a great dipping sauce, but I found the super large chicken 'bites' way too big, and I like them more well-done; however; the flavor and the yuzu mayo is yummy+Spicy Tonkatsu ramen - with housemade chili spice in a pork paitan soup; the char siu was the highlight, as it was caramelized perfectly and had amazing flavor; the hubs really enjoyed the creamy broth as well+and, a Sunset Shoyu ramen - with housemade chili spice in a clear chicken- and dashi-based soup; this was soothing, and I recommend in asking for extra chili oilDon't sleep on the menma; we usually aren't fans of this, as it's usually ghetto versions at other ramen places; here, they import straight from Japan, and it's probably one of the best and only menma we'll eat!Orders do take a while, as each order is literally made-to-order, depending on how busy the place is.Service was pretty friendly and kind. Ordering is super easy, as there's a QR code that is attached to your 'party' - they put a temporary hold on your card until you close your tab, which is super convenient.Limited street parking can be found in the area.+delicious, soothing broths+friendly service+easy ordering and payment process+limited street parking in the area

4.5/5We finally made it out to the city's favorite ramen bar!Service (4/5): The service was a bit on the slower side. We placed our order ahead of a few parties who were seated after us, but our food arrived after theirs. However, our server and the chef acknowledged this and were kind enough to apologize for the delay. Despite this, the food was definitely worth the wait!Ambiance (5/5): We absolutely loved the ramen shop! It was small and quaint, with elements that made you feel like you were dining in Tokyo.Food (5/5): We started with the karaage chicken, which was the only appetizer on the menu--and it did not disappoint! It came with a delicious aioli, and the batter was light and airy. The chicken wasn't greasy, yet it still had that crispy texture we love. I can't recommend it enough! For our ramen, we ordered the Spicy Tantan and Classic Tonkotsu. Both had completely different flavor profiles, and it was clear that the ramen was made with love and care. The Spicy Tantan had a peanut undertone, while the Classic Tonkotsu had a rich, creamy flavor. The broth was absolutely delicious, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The broth-to-noodle ratio was spot on!Their dinner service hours are a bit odd, as they are only open Wednesday through Friday, which makes it harder for 9-to-5 folks to visit. After such a long-awaited visit, we thought it was pretty good, though it may be difficult to frequent them regularly *sigh*

Long post alert, but what a rare and unique experience I had at Menya Hosaki. Came here on a Tuesday and to my surprise every Tuesday is a special chefs menu which is just one Ramen dish that changes every week. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I'm so glad I gave it a shot, it was AMAZING! Forced me to step out of my comfort zone, and I'm glad I did. The pork was super flavorful, and a great portion, the broth was miso based and sadly that is all the details I could pick up on but I now trust the chef with any dish! The wait was a little long (20 minutes to be seated and some time for the food), but you can see the chefs making everything fresh right in front of you, so it makes sense. The staff and chef were super friendly and made the whole experience really enjoyable. They got me excited to come back and I see why they have so many regulars. I will definitely be back and try their regular menu, but I'm also excited for another adventure with their Tuesday specials. Highly recommend checking this place out!

This was my first time trying Menya Hosaki and I see why it's a fan favorite. First of all, they don't take reservations and the tables fill up super fast after opening, we waited about 30 mins for our table which isn't too bad but definitely plan to be early and wait if going at a popular time. We split the karaage which was delightfully crispy and hot out the fryer. The spicy tonkatsu was not spicy and lacked depth to me. The broth was just ok but the chashu was delicious. I would take a couple orders of that. I'm still curious about the truffle shoyu and the Tuesday surprise menus so maaaaaybe I'll be back but I don't think it would be worth the wait again for me. Service and ambiance was great though!

Came on a cold Weds before opening and was 2nd party in line. The line that formed afterwards filled up the restaurant. Many parties came in while we were eating and were quoted wait times of 30-45 mins.We were seated quickly and ordered the chicken bites, the triple threat and the tonkatsu. The karage was reminiscent of a traditional chicken Karage and the yuzu Mayo was a great condiment. Tonkastu was pretty rich and heavy with intense porky goodness while triple threat was lighter and flavorful with datshi as the primary highlighting flavor. In all their ramens, the same ingredients - noodles, bamboo shoot and pork were extremely high quality. You can see the love and dedication they put into each ingredient. Very deliberate choice of ingredients. I like that they don't load their ramen with a ton of toppings. If I am back in the area and have slot for a repeat, this will be one of my top choices.

It's wild that this place has less than 400 reviews. But perhaps that's a good thing. Came on a Friday night at 8 something pm and was able to make it on the wait-list after an hour (barely made it though). I'll be dreaming about the tonkotsu broth for months. The noodles, the pork, even the bamboo shoot was really good. Really small place, small menu (they ran out of karaage ::cry:: since we were one of the last customers). But everything is quality. Definitely want to come back and try the other broths and offerings.

This ramen reframed everything. What I thought was ramen before, is in fact NOT ramen. I can't eat ramen anywhere else now. I felt like I was transported straight to Japan. The service was efficient. You pay as you order so you can leave when you're ready. Why isn't every one doing that? The chefs are detail oriented, communicative, and it's a privilege to watch them as they prepare the food at the bar. The broth is the deepest and creamiest I've ever had. The karaagre was unreal, made fresh with real chicken and flavored to PERFECTION as well as the mayo yuzu sauce. I can't recommend enough. You have to get there early. But don't be surprised if there is some sketchy experiences happening around you while you wait

Was visiting a friend in the area and she wouldn't stop raving about this "amazing ramen shop in the area." During lunchtime, you are pretty much served whatever the one dish the chef decides to make for that day. We were a party of 2 and had to wait close to an hour. Considering the reviews and the fact that I had to wait past my normal time for lunch, it should've tasted darn fantastic but it was just good. Would I return? Not for the same dish, perhaps when something else is offered.

Finally got to try the 'best ramen in the DMV!' We arrived on a weekday around 4:50 PM, and there was already a line forming. If you want to avoid waiting for hours, I highly recommend coming before opening time. The place is small and cozy with limited seating, so plan accordingly! As for the food, the karage was crispy and delicious. It's pretty rare for the karage to not have to rely on some sort of sauce. I ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen, which I'd rate 3.5/5. It started out great, but the spice eventually overpowered the flavor. I think I'd prefer the regular tonkatsu next time. However, the noodles had the best texture of any ramen I've tried in this area.Definitely worth 5 stars for the atmosphere and the quality of the dishes.
