Overall great Ethiopian restaurant and good for first timers too. They have a huge space and also serve beer and wine. Their coffee is also great like most Ethiopian places, fresh roasted beans and brewed clean. My dad also loved the food last time we were here. Good outdoor seating and plenty of parking. I picked a to-go this time so missed going inside.

First time trying Ethiopian food! I got the Meaza Tibs (their specialty cubed beef cooked with fat and onions) and their Vegetarian Combo (which came with spicy lentils, yellow chickpeas, collard greens, and cabbage) I must say the food was amazing! The slightly sour injera they served the food on top of paired perfectly with the rich meats and veggies. Will definitely have to try more Ethiopian spots! While the server was very nice, the service was a bit slow, especially. But all in all great food.

Meaza is our go to place for Ethiopian food. Everything is delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is spacious and a little more upscale than some (white table cloths etc.). We always love the super veggie combo which features a great selection of vegetarian dishesplaced colorfully around the very large injera. We fill the middle withdoro wat (really good chicken with an egg) and lamb or beef tibs. It ishard to go wrong.

I love love love Ethiopian food! While I haven't tried any other places in the DMV area, this food is damn good. Not the best I've ever had, but good!We went in on a Tuesday just after 6pm and it was not very crowded. A couple large groups were in, but most tables were empty. There was only one server! Poor woman had to do everything! Whether it is usual or not, the food did take a little while to come out... but that was fine by us, we weren't in a hurry. We got two different samplers and it was quite a lot just for the two of us. Lots to choose from. Always a good starting point if you don't know what to get. I'd recommend getting the meat "raw" if asked, as the cooked version can be a bit tough. Check-in on Yelp and you can get a free dessert. They were nice enough to give us a little take-away container since our stomachs had no space left.

The restaurant space is shared and situated in the middle between a market and a hookah bar. It is pretty dark inside but they have a fresh flower on every table which brightened up the atmosphere a bit. We ordered the regular vegetarian combo which came with spicy lentils, yellow chickpeas, collard greens, cabbage, and salad. It also came with a red pepper/spice that I haven't had at other Ethiopian restaurants and I was pleasantly surprised with the heat it packed. For the meats, we decided on the Meaza tibs (their beef house special) and yabug awaze tibs (spicy lamb tibs). The meat was tender and full of flavor. The veggies maybe not so much - yellow chickpeas were a little bland - but still pretty good. We had one giant injera bread each - it was good but not as "sour" as others that I've had and it was pretty thick. Our server was very sweet and super attentive!Overall, a nice spot for Ethiopian if you can also get past the weird turn in to the parking lot.

Really enjoyed the set up at this place with the portraits on the walls and the hall/banquet style feel to the place. Our server was very informative and gave us suggestions on what to order to have the full Ethiopan experience. I enjoyed all the textures, colors, presentations and flavors of our storted cooked veggies and meat tray. It was a lot for 4 people but we were all satisfied with the seasons and tenderness of the meats. I will say, service is a bit slow so we enjoyed some traditional beers while waiting for our food. The lamb and short ribs is a must to order. Wasn't impressed with the store bought reheated baklava, you can skip that one!

I miss living in DC because of all of the Ethiopian food around, but luckily this place was available for delivery. I ordered the vegetarian combo and my boyfriend ordered the yabug awaze tibs. Everything was just average for me. Two of the sides in my combo were raw cabbage and something that was very similar to just boiled potatoes with very little seasonings. I was hoping for more exciting lentils or collard greens. The yabug awaze had great flavors but it was a bit dry. I would probably stick with the meat entrees here and go somewhere else for my Ethiopian veggie fix.
