This is a small Chinese place. It's not fancy. It's a little divey. But it's inexpensive and fast.I came here for lunch with a friend. The low cost and quick service were exactly what we were looking for.We split an order of steamed potstickers. I also had chicken lo mein. Both were prepared to order and were pretty good. This is a decent place for a quick lunch.

This small Chinese restaurant always delivers fresh delicious food. They are very nice and accommodating to my allergies and special instructions. I have ordered from here many times. There are a very few small tables and not fancy by any means. But the food is always very tasty and good.

I should've read the reviews on here before placing my order! I just wanted some fried chicken wings. That's it, that's all. I opened the bag containing my food and was beyond disgusted. The wings looked rather stale and didn't look edible. The fries were overcooked. Like bro what is this?! I'm not understanding how they thought this was ok to give to a customer. This particular location has a 4.7 rating on UberEats and I'm just wondering how and why?!Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

Not sure where all the poor reviews are coming from? I ordered the the bone basic General Tso's combination and a couple of eggrolls. Food was as expected for takeout, chicken was actually crispy which I appreciated. It was flavorful, well portioned and packaged. The egg rolls were crispy and nice sized. Delivery was timely, so no issues at all for me. I will definately order again.

Kung pao chicken had next to no chicken, peanuts, or water chestnuts. instead it was full of celery and carrots with a bland flavor reminiscent of bad canned chicken soup and that was even after a request for it to be "extra spicy" - bad mistake not to be repeated.

I'm giving this review 4 stars for the food alone. I purchased my order to dine in and here is my experience.Cons: The place is small and not great for dining in. I sat by the door which was very cold and uncomfortable. Please call your order in as the wait may be a little time especially if your on your lunch break. Also I felt there lunch specials were a bit pricey than other carry outs.Pros: The Food is AMAZING! It has a very fresh authentic taste to it. I had spicy shrimp and broccoli and spring rolls. I've also tried there kung pow chicken too. So far so good! Very tasty.

King Day was coming to an end and the temperature was dropping. I dropped by Mayflower for some Wings and Fries with M(a/u)mbo sauce. I ordered a three piece per usual and was taken aback by the price. Why wouldn't the Carryout in Tenleytown be more expensive, obviously. I mean, they also operate without bulletproof glass. I had gotten hip to Mayflower from a Complex piece I read, awhile back. I stopped by once a few years back but I'm never up Tenleytown--never. I didn't want to sit down, though there are seats and a couple of tables. In true Carryout fashion there was no heat on. Corners just got to be cut. In no time, I grabbed my bag and it was off into the D.C. night we go.*The wings were aight, the fries were whatever. I appreciated that they didn't overdo the sauce because it wasn't as special as I remember reading about nor eating. Not nivel Howard China but still better than Yums. *My interpretation of Soliloquy of Chaos

The service was good. There were two of us eating, so the other one wasn't impressed. I found that what I specified to be very spicy wasn't. I did manage to eat it all and it wasn't offensive, just milder than I would have liked. When I say "spicy," I mean something that will really be flaming; this wasn't near to that. My companion would not want to order again. If I will have a different companion, I won't rule it out, but I have had better elsewhere.

Keeping in mind that this is not fancy Chinese food, Mayflower is great, especially for the price. It is take out/delivery only and is better than you would expect for this kind of restaurant. Plus, the people are very friendly and happy to accommodate special requests. A couple of things: Sometimes the beef and broccoli has been broccoli with some beef. Order extra. If you want enough sauce to cover the rice, you should ask for extra. But on the whole, there is a reason they have been around forever. My daughter, now 32, went there a lot when she was in middle school.
