I would describe Matchbox as a solid choice, if you live in Tysons/McLean area, and you're pressed for time. The menu is Modern American, with options for brick oven pizza -- it has just enough of a variety that everyone should be able to choose something that appeals to them. The space is quite open and I love the fact that the majority of the seating are set up as booths. Side note: I wish more restaurants could be set up this way, it gets you out of the way of the servers and wait staff going up and down the aisles. -- [I realize for restaurants with smaller footprint, it's impractical, as booths take up more space] We came in at 6:30, and we were able to get a table easily, but the restaurant was filling up soon after. We got the Garden Veggie pizza, it said it had roasted vegetables, and the Herb Crusted Salmon Salad - both were quite good. We finished off with one of their dessert items - Donuts. I wish I could have taken a photo of this fried bit of deliciousness, but sadly we attacked it too quickly for me to take a decent photo. In lieu of a photo, let me describe it to you: It wasn't quite a beignet, but it wasn't just some donut either. It was something in between dusted with powdered sugar and it came with a side of two different sauces: chocolate and raspberry. The service was fine, but I think our server was somewhat new (??) -- she seemed somewhat unfamiliar with the menu, when we had questions and taking our order, I think our entire table lowered our expectations slightly to account for possible hiccups with our order. Bottom line, it's the convenience of this restaurant, because the thought of dealing with mall traffic and parking, just to get dinner, especially if you are pressed for time, makes this place ideal

Matchbox has some interesting pizza combinations that may be worth exploring. The cheese pizza I had was soggy, no great quality or flavorful cheese. The salmon salad faired well and a good serving. The crabcake sandwich was better than expected. It had lumb crab and filler with a tasty sauce. It's about the size of a hamburger, there's filler but it's well balanced.

Came for lunch on a Saturday . Wasn't busy at all. After ordering it took awhile for the food to be served. After digging in I realized the food was probably sitting for a bit before the server got the food to us because everything was lukewarm. Ate it anyway. Water glass wasn't refilled even though I placed it by the aisle and the manager walked by several times and saw it was empty. Lots of improvement needed if they want reoccurring business/to survive because this restaurant is kind of off the beaten path with limited foot traffic in downtown McLean which is normally deserted during the summer with people on vacation.

Service was good, ambiance is okay (a bit of family and a bit of bar fun...it depends where you sit). The drinks are nice. I had the flaming hater margaritas, which was a 6 out of 10. The old fashions were a 5 out of 10. I also had the $20 burgers, which was a 3 out of 10. It was oily, not tasty (meaning flavorless), and it had a handful of fries.

This Matchbox is probably one of the worst of its locations we've been to - The service, from both the floor and the bartending staff, is pretty awful - no host or hostess receives anyone at the door, there are no welcomes, no check-ins, no follow-ups, nothing. It's hard to grab anyone's attention for anything.Located in a plaza off of Chain Bridge, there's plenty of parking in the lot.+awful staff and service+plenty of parking

I have to say this Matchbox in McLean is really nice. Lots of windows, a bit of outdoor seating, a great menu and good food. That said I'd say the portion sizes in some cases are a head scratcher. I had the crispy chicken Cobb salad and it was $18. Look closely at the photo and the chicken portion . The old bay wing were cooked to perfection and delicious. I would service was friendly but not as attentive. I would definitely go again but like a lot of places, the check seemed a bit high for the portion size!

The most family friendly restaurant (but with food and drinks the adults will love too). Staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience, including giving our kids dough to make their own pizzas- which honestly turned out amazing. We'll be back for sure!

Decent! I don't think it's the most amazing food ever, but there are a lot of options, and most of it is decent. I tried the veggie pizza, which was good but I wish they noted what was in the "medley" in case there is something you don't like (olives for me). I tried the fried chicken fingers, which were good but there was too much of the fry part. I also would have liked to see more sauces. For dessert, I tried the donuts and the brownie, both of which were fine, but nothing to write home about. The ambiance and service are nice, and it's very family friendly. Overall, I think you get what you pay for and I wouldn't mind returning.

Food was great. Pizza, hamburger, salads. Juan was the perfect waiter. Helpful, always there when needed, but not hovering. Pleasant surroundings. Nice vibe. Missed Sam at the host stand. Hopefully catch him next time. We'll certainly be back, and if you haven't been, please go. You won't be disappointed.5 stars.

Excellent burgers well constructed and cooked. Great side salad with apples, candied pecans, cranberries and fresh mixed greens with a good vinaigrette. Martini I ordered was a Bombay sapphire very dry with three olives. They charged separately for the booze and then the martini. It ended up being $17. I thought the way they billed it was odd. I also thought it was a tad on the expensive side.I originally ordered the shrimp fettuccine and it was not recognizable as fettuccine. Plus they were those tiny salad shrimp. It was an embarrassment.
