Maru Korean Cuisine & Sushi

My husband and I love coming here as it's close to us and a place where we can get both sushi and Korean food. My husband isn't the biggest fan of sushi so it's great that he has so many different options while I can get my sashimi, specialty rolls (I.e., Love Roll) or salmon avocado rolls. He loves their spicy stir fry squid, sundubu, or kimchi jjigae. Their bibimbap is also really good and when we want to splurge we would get the galbi. I've also come here by myself for lunch and get their bento boxes that they have Tues to Sunday 11:30 to 2:30pm and it's such a great deal with the amount of food you get! I like how they also give you a house salad (their dressing is yummy) and miso soup with many of their dishes. Their menu is very extensive so it's great for groups too as there's a variety to choose from. The restaurant doesn't have too many tables though, very cozy and it can get very busy during prime time so I recommend to come early for dinner or come on a weekday instead of a weekend if you can! There's a good amount of free parking in the back. This is a family runned business so when it is busy, do have patience as they usually have two servers and they also manage a lot of to-go orders as well. They're always very friendly when we go and we love sitting by the window. Highly recommend coming here!

What a nice little find! Super clean and quiet atmosphere ~ Love the location in the little shopping center of Vienna! Service was simple and sweet and had quite a bit of different food selections! For complimentary items - depends on what you get ~ salad and soup Loved the fish katsu but was sort of disappointed it only comes with that a rice - they do give a complimentary side dish set ~ (fish katsu is hard to find i think; i only know of one other place)! Sushi was also pretty good! pretty generous in terms of portion! Overall, would totally come back to try different menu items!

Its okay. Place was empty at dinnertime should have been my 1st sign. The servers were occupied with who knows what? My sushi fell apart at a slight touch of the chopstick.

Great lunch deals here! They even offer it on the weekend which is amazing. We got a sushi box and sundubu (not on the lunch special but I was craving it) and they were both delicious. The sundubu has a good amount of seafood, and a generous amount of tofu. The sushi box was delicious and had a great side assortments. Service was good and the staff were all friendly, but it seemed like they needed more help than the two people they had for the lunch rush. Of note, we sat in the very back by the windows and it does get pretty cold there.

Maru Korean Cuisine & Sushi is a great place to have lunch.  The selectionof bento boxes offers multiple choices with tasty, varied and generousportions.  My salmon teriyaki not only came with a good-sized and delicious piece of fish, but also a great salad, a lot of rice, crunchy tempura andfour pieces of California roll as well as one of the best miso soups I havehad.   And, in addition to that, you also get a selection of four differentlittle banchan appetizers for the table.  The space itself is open with a lot of tables spaced well apart.  Parking is easy in the back lot.

When all is said and done, this is our favorite restaurant in the DMV. We've been here dozen of times.Consistently good service. The restaurant is roomy (bigger than the space Maru occupied next door for many years), and you do not have to wait for a table.Our preference is to come in before 2:30pm and take advantage of the lunch menu. I always order one of the Bento boxes, which comes with a meat; I prefer the chicken, though the bulgolgi and ribs are very good too. The box also comes with a salad with just an absolutely amazing and delicious dressing, tempura (accompanied by a very nice dipping sauce), 3 California roll pieces and miso soup. The miso soup is excellent.JP loves the sashimi salad and agedashi. On occasion I will order either the eel crunch or shrimp crunch roll, both of which are served hot and are very good. From time to time, I will order the seafood pancake which is excellent.Oh, and we always order the shumai.

I really enjoy coming here. We had a great experience! My son ended up ordering the pork Katsu. He said it was really good one of the best katsu's he's ever had. He also got a sweet potato or on the side which he enjoyed. I went with one of their soups, and it really hit the spot. I can't wait to come here again!

So far best korean food out there. Their katsu was surprisingly good crunchy and very japanese style. Also they have lunch special option like bento boxes. I had their katsu and udon combo which the price is right. I come back some more.

Loved everything we ate here! Started with some appetizers (seafood pancake and takoyaki), and it both were very tasty! I ordered the tonkatsu-udon combo (only available during lunch), which was very filling and yummy. We also ordered other traditional Korean soups and sushi. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of both cuisines, and I definitely would recommend this is you're not sure between Korean or Japanese in the Vienna area.The service was a little slow to begin with since it was a little busy, but the size of the place is a little small, so I can't discredit them too much.
