Martha Dear

Ordered the Classic cheese (added mushrooms), the whipped feta, and the Lamb + Hummus. It was a snow squall and didn't want to go out so laziness got the best of me. For 3 items plus delivery it was $93. A bit pricey but I took a chance based on the photos.WORTH EVERY PENNY.I don't have pics because I let my taste buds get the best of me. I would 100% go to the restaurant and order the same items in person. The quality and taste were a 10/10 so in person it would taste even better hot and fresh.The lamb + hummus was my favorite. Perfectly cooked meat and the flavors in the dish were clean and simple.The whipped feta was amazing too and this I would suggest to order in person. However if you don't mind a little deconstructed it's worth it. The pizza is an 8/10 for me and I would return.

We absolutely love Martha Dear, but our main complaint is that they close WAY too early and such limited hours. This is the ultimate neighborhood spot, with some delicious pizza, wine and Greek appetizers. It is closed on both Mondays and Tuesdays. But then is only open from 5 to 8:30 PM. Many times, they shut down even earlier if the weather isn't great.We love coming to this restaurant but due to the limited hours, it's hard to plan a trip here. It is a 5 star experience but would love to be a regular if they stayed open a bit later.

Got carry out from here for a family dinner. We tried several of the pizzas and all were really good. The lab and hummus was outstanding. The Caesar salad sounded better than it ended up being. Prices were kind of high but the food was top notch.

Ambiance is killer! So fun to sit at the bar & watch them make the pizza. Pizza was tasty, drinks were strong, and apps were scrumptious. Service was friendly and helpful!

Now one of my absolute favorite pizza places. Definitely not quite Neapolitan in my opinion, but phenomenally crunchy and complex sourdough pizza with a charming interior and great service! Definitely make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as this place fills up quickly!

We've been here twice now, and it's only gotten better and better. The sourdough crust? Unreal. Their marinara is great and really made the marinara pizza special. I was super wowed by the sausage and grape pizza, and won't forget it anytime soon. Have never had trouble sitting at the bar, and service is fast. A 20% gratuity is included with every check. The prices are reasonable, too - eating here costs basically just as much as Pupatella, and this pizza is exponentially better and more special.

Love love love their sourdough pizza! It's just amazing to see them make this amazing deliciousness right before your eyes. The menu is pretty simple and straightforward! You will enjoy a date night at this place (both food and ambiance)!

Having been on a bit of a pizza kick recently, the thin crust pizzas here were a bit hit or miss, but generally closer to a hit than a miss.Opening things up with cooked veggies, the broccoli rabe was a great start, not too large in portion, although in retrospect we all could have used a lot more veggies in our diet this trip...The tomato and cheese pizza came out first (spinach, cherry tomato, halloumi), and holy cow it was the best one by far. The balance and flavor of the thin crust with the perfect amount of cheese, aided by fresh cherry tomatoes and spinach... plus the extra flavor of the halloumi... sooooo good.We did a classic cheese with meat added as well as a 'nduja + peppers, neither was of the level of the first. Crusts were good but not quite as good as the tomato and cheese for some reason, and intensity of the 'nduja was not quite enough to keep up.Service was excellent and the decor inside appropriate, a bit dark, but given it was a whitewashed basement dominated by a bar and a pizza oven, everything melded together just about right.

I went to Martha Dear because many people kept recommending it hailing it as one of the best pizzas in DC... I've had better in DC and wouldn't recommend Martha Dear for several reasons. The pizzas are pretty tiny and that would be okay if I enjoyed them but unfortunately, they fell flat. Their cheese pizza is nothing special it tastes like any standard pizza and the sauce needs a little more salt. I don't know how to describe the taste but it's a little flat. Their white does have a better taste and could have something going for it but the pizzas were cold and burnt so I couldn't rate it fully. I shared this feedback with staff and they said the pizzas were burnt it was Neapolitan style and approved by their chef. I've had Neapolitan and this pizza tasted burnt, not a "nice char." Take a look yourself and tell me this isn't burnt. Another thing is they don't have very great customer service. One they change all checks and take out orders with a "gratuity" but they don't even have the decency to pick up their phone, you'll have to ring several times before anyone picks up. And I get it you might be busy but when a staff did pick up they were rude and was slightly condescending. overall a negative experience.
