The best dim sum I've found west of DC! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The carts (yes, dim sum served properly from table side carts!) came by every few minutes. We got a lot of dishes and liked all of them. The restaurant is in a strip mall, but is very pleasantly decorated. It's a place that feels inviting on a chilly February day.

The service was fine. But the food was so bad..... I was embarrassed as I'd recommended this for my boyfriend and I after a show in the city. Years ago, this was really good. The potstickers were deep fried and clearly just burnt. They shouldn't have left the kitchen or been brought to the table. The orange chicken. .... Same but had masking of the sauce. We were both really hungry so we mostly ate the rice and a hit of chicken. Do not recommend. Will not return. I noted the potstickers to the waiter. While he brought our check he had the kitchen prepare another order. Considering what's happening today with our digestion, I'll not eat what we brought home.

Solid traditional dim sum house. Looks like they've been here forever, def not a fancy restaurant. More casual/ neighborhood diner vibes. Extra perk - they have a BBQ "kiosk" or window when you come in for those who just wanted to grab a roast duck or some soy sauce chicken. The line for that was out the door when we showed up and stayed that way the whole time we were there. And we were there right after they opened the doors! Really liked the variety of small plates available. They had the regular but in addition, they had a variety of roast and marinated meats, vegetables, and fresh sweetened soy milk. Will def be back!

I thought the kao ya (Peking roast duck) was quite good for my standards in America, compared to the Peking duck in Beijing I've had. It's not on the same level but for a place in northern VA, it does it quite well! The duck is delicious, heavy on the skin if you like the crispy skin over the meat (which I do). The rolls are ok, they are very thin but more wheat-tasting than I am used to. Brown sauce is delicious as always and you lather that in the roll, with the duck and top it off with spring onions. They also can hand-roll it for you in front of you if you prefer someone to make the roast duck wrappers instead of wrapping it yourself. They do charge $1 each for every extra wrapper so be conscious of that. They also charge for the tea, which is annoying because they don't tell you in advance.Service here was great. The staff was very nice and quick. We came on a Wednesday night at 6:30 so it was not busy at all. The veggies (sauteed snow peas) is a Chinese classic and cooked how I imagined. I would come here again and take my friends/family. Standard Chinese establishment that you can tell is authentic!

I have been coming to Mark's since I was really young with my family, so happy that the quality has stayed the same all these years! I think this is one of my favorite Peking Duck places in the USA - they still do thin pancakes instead of baos, which I really love. Their duck is crispy yet juicy and the sauce is sooo flavorful. If you come here, you have to get the duck if not anything else.Other favorites are the Sizzling Beef w/ Black Pepper Sauce, the Seafood Fried Rice, the Beef Chow Mein, and the Peavine. I think all of their food is awesome and really worth the prices. The staff is very friendly as well :)

Decent local spot for some authentic dim sum but not my favorite. I've been here many times and while it is still one of my top spots for dim sum, the quality and service I feel doesn't compare to about 10 years ago. I visited the restaurant on a Sunday expecting the restaurant to be busy because that's how they usually are on the weekends. The wait for two people wasn't too bad, took only about 20 minutes. You ask for a ticket number at the front desk and are called when they have a table ready.I guess my concerns are over the cost and experience as a whole. I feel that some dishes are priced higher than they should be. If you're unlucky and pick a dish that's been sitting on the cart too long, it will be cold and you'll have to ask them to reheat it. Drink refills are very slow and not paid attention to. The large tables in the front of the restaurant where they have food stacked on top of each other and use to load up the carts is a little concerning as all the dishes are just exposed in the open air.

I visited Mark Duck House on Christmas Day, knowing it would be chaotic and it was! The seating process was confusing but it was understandable given how busy the holiday rush was.We managed to get dim sum before service ended at 3 PM and enjoyed some classic dishes like steamed shrimp dumplings, stuffed crab claw, and cheung fun. My favorite dim sum dish by far was the pork spare ribs in black bean sauce, it was super flavorful and perfectly fall-off-the-bone.We also ordered the sautéed snow peas with fresh garlic sauce, which was a light savory sauce. I kept going back for more, it was simple yet so satisfying. This is a no-frills, hole-in-the-wall Chinese spot that delivers on authentic flavors. If you don't mind a little chaos, it's definitely worth a visit!

Here's my first review of the year! My fiancé and I decided to start off the new year with some dim sum at Mark Duck House. We had about a 40-minute wait for a table, but it wasn't too bad. A few dishes, like the chive salad, fried taro, and shrimp balls, were a little on the cold side, but everything from the steam cart came out nice and hot! The service was great, even though it was super busy. Our server was really attentive and kept checking in for drink refills and napkins. We were in and out in just under 2.5 hours. Mark Duck House is definitely the spot for dim sum!

Mark's Duck House is a must-visit for authentic Cantonese dim sum in NoVA! A heads-up: they don't take reservations, so plan ahead if you're going on a weekend. We came with a group of 8 and waited about an hour, but the experience was absolutely worth it.The roast pork was the clear standout dish--crispy, tender, and packed with flavor. Honestly, it's a must-order. The duck, on the other hand, was hit or miss in my opinion, so I'd recommend sticking to the pork if you're looking for a guaranteed win.The service was lovely. The ladies with the dim sum carts were more than happy to explain the dishes, which was great for anyone less familiar with the menu. Everything tasted super fresh, likely because all the dishes are made on-site daily, not frozen or reheated. The wait can be long, especially for larger groups, but the food and lively atmosphere make it all worthwhile. Pro tip: get there early to avoid the crowds, or bring your patience. Either way, I'll definitely be back!

Hands down my new fav spot for dim sum! This place is packed! Service was great, staff were friendly. The crab claws here are ginormous and one of my must haves when I get dim sum. Unlike other places, the high level priced menu items were also offered on carts but beware because it can add up quick! These include lobster, clams, roast duck, roast pork and more. Worth it if you want to treat yourself. Everything we ordered tasted great, but some of our food was cold but we had no problem getting it reheated. We learned the first couple times so made sure to ask if a dish was fresh and/hot. It helps to sit near the kitchen to see when fresh dishes get brought out.
