Marcellino Pane & Vino

Unfortunately this was an unpleasant experience. We were at 6:45 and waited almost 20 minutes until out server approached us after we had to ask a chef walking by to please get our waitress. It was a bit upsetting to learn they had a happy hour we could have been a part of had they serviced us in a timely manner. What's unfortunate is that there were only 6 parties present. On a lighter note, the wine was very good. I might question the light pour but not the quality.

Yum. This wine bar is located near Union Market, and a block from Stellina Pizzeria. There is a garage around the corner at The Gantry and also street parking. Some garages offer three hours free parking. Instagrammers will be happy. The restaurant is colorful and creatively decorated. The food is a work of art. The menu is creative. The brunch menu wasn't served when we visited but, the chef had an amazing pumpkin soup not on the menu. We were served almonds while waiting for our food. Each dish was amazing. A lot of care went into the tiniest detail. The flavors were worth the wait. The eggplant was hearty and delicious. The salads were large and excellent. The cheese platter included jams and crackers. The salmon was wonderfully prepared. The breads were freshly made. The garlic bread alone was worth the wait. The desserts were off the charts. The flan was the best I have ever had. The texture was creamy and incredible. The cake had a thin piece of chocolate that I reluctantly shared. The Canolli was artful and giant. When I return, I want to experience the upstairs view. You can enter through the front door or the lobby off of the apartment building. The upscale visit was a treat. This is a place to linger and not rush. If you want to enjoy conversations with friends or have a special date night, you will have a nice time.

Love this little wine bar! It's located on the ground floor of the Gantry Apartments. You can enter through lobby of the gantry or a small door outside.They offer bat seating, a few tables on the inside and when it's warmer, seating outside! The waiters are extremely knowledgeable about everything on the menu and attentive. I've been twice and both times have been great. I enjoy the wine flights! Super fun to enjoy or with a group. You can add a tasting charcuterie tasting plate! I actually have only had the charcuterie! Never disappoints and a good number of cheeses to choose from.I'm not a huge lover of olives, but I really enjoy the warm ones they have here! They don't come pitted, so as a novice, lime myself, don't be surprised!

Service is everything at Marcellino, and duh, the wine! Their wine and cocktail program are mind blowing and their staff can sit there and tell you about it all day long. Does it get better than that? If you're looking for a cozy happy hour with deals, and great wine in a vibrant atmosphere, look no further! DC needs more Marcelilno's!

Really great neighborhood wine bar with an amazing happy hour menu and outside seating!

Food was delicious. Ambiance was a bit awkward as the restaurant is located within an apartment building and you may feel observed by residents walking up and down the stairs from their lobby.

Food is amazing! Drinks so good! Bartender/host Joseph is amazing! He is so fun and friendly and also makes so so good drinks! Joseph is definitely a multi tasks person! He is a host, bartender and also takes orders. He does everything and still takes time to talk and explain /recommend the food in the menu. And our server, beautiful Liliana , she is good! She definitely makes us feel special and enjoy our time at the restaurant. By herself served all the restaurants but still has a big smiles on her face and remember change our plates constantly for appetizers and the main entree , remember all our orders for food and drinks. The chef cooks very good Spain/ Italian food. We love all the dishes we ordered. Marcellino is a cute place with nice ambience and nice modern decor. Come here if you want to have a cool place to hang out with friends or family and the restaurant can be a place to take time to relax/ unwired, enjoy conversation and not in a rush.

Stopped in for drinks. I had a nice Chilean wine based on the bartender's recommendation and my son had a cocktail. Both were great. Good ambiance.

Love this little place!! Everyone working there is so so lovely. If you ever want to go here solo or with a friend, this is the perfect spot to try some good wine and mixed drinks, and possibly, meet the owners who occasionally swing by and chat with the patrons. I cannot recommend this spot enough for a cozy, intimate vibe.
