First time ordering will NOT be the last, not even close. Got delivery on National Pizza Day (also Superbowl Sunday). Pizza arrived about fifteen minutes earlier than quoted online, perfectly ok with us! I knew at first glance this was going to be a great NY-Style pizza and I was right.The balance of toppings as well as the quality of toppings absolutely impressed. Every element was great, and while it arrived very warm, as good as it was NOT piping hot from the oven, we will absolutely order in person soon so as to experience it that way.So awesome to have finally found great pizza near us (under five miles) that we can easily drive to or get delivery from without going to downtown Rockville, Bethesda or Damascus, where our other NY-Style faves are.

A few months ago I dined at Mama Lucia with my family and had a somewhat mixed experience that I wanted to share.The restaurant has a cozy, traditional Italian atmosphere that initially made us feel welcome. We ordered a variety of dishes to experience their menu offerings.What We OrderedKids' Spaghetti and Meatballs: This was a hit with the little one. The portion size was appropriate for a child, and the sauce had a nice balance of flavors without being too spicy.Linguine with Shrimp, Clams, and Calamari: This seafood pasta dish was quite enjoyable. The seafood tasted fresh, and the linguine was cooked to a proper al dente. The light sauce complemented the seafood flavors well without overpowering them.The Mix-UpUnfortunately, there was a disappointing mix-up with my order. I had ordered the Chicken Parmigiana but was served Eggplant Parmigiana instead. While I understand mistakes can happen in busy restaurants, it was frustrating since I specifically wanted the chicken dish. By the time I realized the error, everyone else had already started eating, so I didn't send it back.To their credit, the eggplant was well-prepared - thinly sliced, properly breaded, and not overly oily as eggplant dishes sometimes can be. The marinara sauce was flavorful and the cheese was nicely melted. However, this wasn't what I had ordered or was expecting to eat.ServiceThe service was generally attentive, though the order mix-up suggests there might be some communication issues between the wait staff and kitchen. Our water glasses were kept filled, and the food came out at a reasonable pace.Overall ImpressionMama Lucia shows promise with their food quality and atmosphere, but the order mix-up did impact our experience. I'd be willing to give them another try in the future, hoping that the kitchen would be more careful with orders. If you visit, I'd recommend double-checking your dish when it arrives to avoid similar disappointments.3/5 stars - Good food, but attention to order details needs improvement.

Been going for years, but the best location is still the one on Rockville Pike. This one suffers from really bad service and since it keeps happening, really bad management. The food is great, but it takes forever to have a server show up at the table, sometimes it takes too long to get the food or they screw up your order.So this latest visit was the first time in at least a year. I had a gift card which was given to me after a bad experience. So we show up and get seated immediately, but then we wait close to 10 minutes with nobody coming to the table. I go up front and explain that they are failing already. They correct it and then we have a decent meal. It is too bad this happened because I would have given 4 stars instead of 3.

This might be a silly thing to complain about, but here we go...Our order arrived way too early. I was planning eating around 5pm so I ordered at 3:10pm for delivery for 4:45pm. The food arrived before 4pm. I understand a 15 min buffer on either side of a chosen delivery time, but 45 min is absolutely ridiculous. What is the point of allowing customers to choose a delivery time in the future if you make the food immediately?

We always enjoy Mamma Lucia as a comfort staple delivered home, but this time was our first time dining in. We enjoyed garden salad with chicken and a couple slices of pizza. The bread that comes as an appetizer was tasty! Our server was very polite and attentive to our needs. Cozy vibes on a rainy weeknight, perfect meal in!

What can I say just absolutely delicious Baked ziti and bread. This is one of our favorite places to order Italian cuisine from because it's always good and we've never had a bad experience we also love the service and how quickly they serve or deliver your food, always a nice and inviting warm place to eat. Love the restaurant. Great ambiance when dining inside Mamma Lucia.

I went with a large group, and I usually don't eat at Italian restaurants...but someone else chose the venue. I ordered Wedding Soup and it was DELICIOUS! So delicious that I might just go get some for takeout tonight! Our waitress for 18 people was Madison, and she did great job!

Came here for Friday for lunch and ordered the Fettucini Alfredo with sausage (which cost extra). The place itself has a nice ambiance. The waitress came and provided us the bread with olive oil (which tasted great). The menu itself is decent and plenty of options. My only complaint was the wait time. While there were a few people already in the restaurant, we did come a little later (after 1pm) and even then, the wait time was a little longer than I expected. The food itself was decent and tasty, but a little on the oily side. Probably a bit too much butter for me, but I can see why it tasted so good. The waitress did stop by once to refill our waters which was nice. There is plenty of parking in the front. Overall, a solid place and I'll definitely come back just to taste the pizza.

Place is always on point! If you do get the pizza you'll love the crust. The pasta are huge and so good!The staff is always great and super friendly. The set up of the restaurant is actually pretty cool!
