Meat quality was not good today. For 43.99 for 1 order I expect good quality. Usually my fav.

For Korean bbq it was not the largest menu considering how many other places are in the area. This meal was a little pricey for what we got. We were told there were minimums on the meats we order but it wasn't listed on the menu. They would be better if it was more consistent with the quality and what they offer. At night the sign was hard to find since it doesn't light up but the ambiance in general was a good, no frills vibes. Overall service was nice but they tried to take away out galbi bones with meat still on it and we had to ask to keep so we could cook it. The bonchon options were good. I've had better haemul sundubu (the seafood tofo soup). for the price I expected more fatty brisket, but the quality was good.

Writing review after going 3 times. First time was when they opened and service very lacking. Kalbi came out too frozen but tasted good. Overall to my surprise I actually like the food here. Tried 4 food items. Yangnyum kalbi everytime my fav! Thick pork belly. Kimchi jigae. Maewoontang.Seats are a bit uncomfortable, sits a bit away from the table... The parking area looks small from the road/front side but if you go around back there's plenty parking. I thought it was on the pricey side but comparing it to other bbqs in that area it was comparable.

5 StarsMad for Grill, a Korean restaurant in Annandale, VA, is a spot that will keep you coming back. The "조기구이정식", Grilled Yellow Croaker Set) is exceptional--perfectly grilled with deep, rich flavors. The side dishes (banchan) are like little appetizers, and the Kimchi is hands down the best I've ever had in any restaurant--fresh, flavorful, and incredibly special. It's a taste that's sure to impress, especially for those new to Korean cuisine. Plus, the convenient location makes it an easy choice. If you're after authentic Korean food, Mad for Grill is a must-visit!

Mad for Grill is a new Korean restaurant that opened up, who took over the spaces that were once known as Nak Won Restaurant and its adjacent, Nak Won Catering.Since they had just opened up, they had some opening kinks and such - for example, they had a large banner, draped across their storefront, advertising that they were offering $10.99 lunch specials - however, it didn't specify that this was only for weekdays. Some patrons came in, excited for the deal, but most ended up walking out, as they felt that they were duped. They did close early one evening, due to the inclement weather. The menu was extensive, offering various appetizers, entrees, soups and stews, hot pot, chef's specials, KBBQ, and drinks. They also have a separate 'grand opening 'lunch special menu.We were seated right away, and after studying the menu, we decided on:+Tteokbokki - stir-fried rice cakes with onions and fish cake, in a spicy red pepper sauce; unfortunately, this was literally one of the worst ddukbokis we've had - it had a weird, off-putting odor and taste to it; the sauce seemed to be very ground pepper forward, and it wasn't that creamy spicy with a slight sweetness flavor that is expected; this was just put off to the side and not touched again+the Jili Galbi Jjim - described as steamed-fried tender beef ribs with veggies; this is your typical galbi jjim, but with more 'liquid' at the bottom; this had mushrooms, green peppers, carrots, and rice cakes; I do admit, there were plenty of generously-sized galbi pieces, some with more cartilage than others; easily shared between 4+ people, as the portions are large; I personally thought this was more on the bland side, as I like mine slightly more savory and more sweet; I also wished the galbi was more fork-tenderWe also were provided a bowl of white rice and brown rice with beans; it was interesting that we weren't asked what type of rice we preferred, and were just given one of each - HA!The banchans were okay - I personally disliked the dried spicy radish. With the check, you also get a little complimentary dish of dduk from next door. Service was very kind and friendly!I am curious to try out their stews and their KBBQ a la carte. There are plenty of spots in the rear of the building as well as a few spots in the front for parking.+weekday lunch specials+friendly service!+plenty of parking in the rear

The location is where Nakwon used to be- Although the owner has changed, the rice cake and catering are still being done. Nakwon used to be our go-to Samghyupsahl place. The server claimed the meat is provided by the same people who sold it to Nakwon. I don't think so. The quality of the meat is different. We'd know because we've eaten at Nakwon for years; The stir fry spicy squid was really delicious. Probably the best we've eaten. The night wasn't entirely disappointing because of that one dish. Although the restaurant wasn't busy, the servers didn't come by unless we flagged them down in that tiny place. Unless our whole family wants stir fry spicy squids, I doubt we'll be returning. The KBBQ at 9292 was better. We'll stop occasionally for their yummy rice cakes. My family & I miss Nakwon.

As soon as I walked in, you know you're in for a treat. Very clean and the staff is super friendly. You've got your own grill at the table, server cook up all of meat for you. We ordered marinated galbi and potbelly- think melt-in-your-mouth gable and crispy pork belly. Also, they've got all sorts of traditional Korean dishes that will blow your mind. Plus, the bottle of soju. Long story short, if you're down for a deliciously casual night out with killer food and vibes, I would hit up Mad for Grill again! Definitely 100/10!
