Genuinely the best establishment I've stepped foot into my whole trip here in DC. The food is to die for and borderline even kill for. Please get the chicken curry with the suka if you want a taste of true happiness. Service was absolutely lovely too, couldn't have asked for any better. If i experienced this happiness 4 years ago my marriage might have held together.

We randomly stopped by Ligaya, and i could not have been more happy with our results. Although I am not Filipino, I've had Filipino food in the past, and I thought Ligaya was pretty comparable to other Turo-Turo style places that I've visited. Ligaya offers a special of 2 entrees and a side for about $13. I'll say that the amount of food that they give probably is enough for two meals. If you are starving, Ligaya's is the place to be. The restaurant has plenty of varieties of dishes that you can try out. To be perfectly honest, it was hard for me to settle on my two entrees, but I went with the Chicken Adobo and some pork thingy (apologies for not remembering the name). While it's about a 7 minute wait, I appreciate that they freshly fry the lumpia for each order rather than frying a batch and leaving it out for hours. Tip: If you know that you are going to be in a rush, you should pre order your food. While most folks tend to do take out orders, Ligaya's does have a few small tables if you would like to dine in. Since this is the only Filipino spot that I've visited in this area, I thought the prices were pretty good compared to other local lunch take-out places. The only downside (which is not Ligaya's fault, IMO): Ligaya's is in a busy shopping center so parking can be a bit limiting...like most places in this area.

Tight space but we came to check out the food. There are different ways to order- platter where you pick a couple of items or a la carte. We did both because I wanted to try stuff that's not included in the platter. Everything was tasty- kaldereta, bistek, pinakbet and rice of course. Comfort food reminding me of home. Mind you, these dishes were for special occasions when I was growing up but they nailed the taste and flavor. I love it! Will come back.

I saw this place after going to Red Ribbon and wanted to give it a shot. This place is take-out restaurant oriented, compared to others that are mostly groceries. The cashier staff was very friendly, even when a long line of customers were present.I ordered dinuguan and caldereta. The caldereta was dry like most places, except for the juicy, fatty parts. The dinuguan was probably one of the best I've ever tasted. The pork was meaty and had a good amount of fat too, unlike other places that will mostly put just pig's skin. If you ask for extra sabaw, they will give it with no problem.

Delicious authentic Filipino food! I'm beyond excited that another Filipino restaurant has opened in Maryland, closer to me! Love the casual and feel-at-home vibe, combined with the tasty home-cooked meals that remind me of my mom's & older sister's cooking. The staff were super friendly & welcoming. I came with my husband and friends, and we tried a lot of things from their menu. Sinigang (my all-time favorite Filipino dish), pansit, adobo, lumpia, turon, etc. Everything was 10/10! The halo-halo was out of this world! Loved the little sari sari store with the nostalgic Filipino snacks. Definitely highly recommend this new spot!

First time to dine at Ligaya's and my experience was somewhat disappointing for a 4 star in Yelp. Serving size was too small compared to other Filipino restaurants. The vibe was uninviting and the server was not friendly at all. The foods looked very dry at around 3PM so ordered dinuguan which in all fairness was delicious. Had a hard time choosing 2 entrees because the choices did not look appetizing. Next time, I will just stick to my tried and tested Filipino restaurants in Rockville with satisfying serving portions and deliciously home cooked meals.

No frills spot for a quick, delicious and inexpensive Filipino lunch. I had the dinuguan and caldereta combo meal. They were very generous with the portions and knew to not skimp on the sauces. The dinuguan sauce was so smooth. It wasn't the thick and lumpy kind I've had from other places. The pork pieces I had were meaty and not fatty. For the caldereta, they scooped me an even proportion of beef, carrots and potatoes. There was a little bit of fat on the beef but it wasn't so much that I was throwing away large pieces. My brother's garlic fried rice looked really good with the fried egg and longanisa. He said it was a solid breakfast for him. Even though I came on an empty stomach, I was stuffed walking out of there. But not enough to pass on turon. I thought I tasted a piece of jackfruit in it, regardless it was a good dessert to wrap up lunch. The cafe is super clean and they have a friendly staff. One corner has shelves filled with some kitchen necessities like fish sauce and vinegar. I'll have to come back if they have the spicy Datu Puti vinegar next time. I spotted bags of pandesal. Toast some of those and add a healthy dollop of cheez whiz, and you got yourself a tasty snack.

Now that DC has so many elevated Filipino restaurants I truly appreciate a regular Turo Turo style restaurant with consistent quality food that taste more like home cooking. This place is it. It also shares a parking lot with Red Ribbon that is a huge bonus too. My experience was great. I am one of those Filipinos who thinks they can cook better than everyone else, and I must say this place is pretty good. I will def come back. The price to happiness ratio was perfect for me.

This is a no frills Filipino food "turo turo" restaurant. Fast casual with a lil market on the side. Food tasted authentic with a good amount for the serving but comes in a to-go container so you might as well get it to-go. Staff is friendly.
