The burger is fully worth the hype! My only regret is not trying the French onion soup because those pics look unreal. The steak frites is good but I'd opt for the burger instead! Service is nice, ambiance is great, def a cute dinner spot in the city.

i'm gonna start with the bad and then move onto the good. bad-we went on a sunday around 4. they weren't super busy when we arrived and were told it'd be a 20-30 minute wait for 2. great. 20 minutes pass by... no text. 30 minutes... nothing. i go up to the host and ask where we are on the wait list, he says there's one table ahead of us. cool. my husband started counting. 10 tables ended up getting sat before us. we got sat exactly 50 minutes after we arrived. now, i completely understand. i have worked at a restaurant as a host, waiter, expo, everything, so i totally get it. they had a large rush and people were complaining left and right. i'd also like to mention it was my husband and i's anniversary, and we're from virginia beach so we drove a long way for this. BUT... a restaurant like this should NOT be having these kinds of seating issues. there were managers taking people to tables that's how bad it was. i could tell the male host was new but he should've either a) been honest when i asked where we were and said it'd be a while (we were really looking forward to this, we would've waited!!) or b) if he was gonna say we were next he should've made it happen. part of our issue with this was the fact that this whole area has 2 hour max parking, so we were nervous our car would get towed/ we'd get a ticket. luckily this didn't happen but we were anxious of it during our entire time diningthe good-oh. my. word. the food was incredible!! the bread they brought out was delicious and fresh. we started with the steak tartare and it was incredible, then my husband had the rabbit and i had half roasted duck, both were cooked perfectly and the sauces were SO FLAVORFUL. the crème brûlée was perfect and we will 100% be going back for the delicious food. our server was also great and had very good table & time management. a few hiccups but exquisite french food! a must visit in d.c.!

solid food, with an ambience. although given the hype, it was overrated and the service was rushed. nonetheless, absent all the hype around the restaurant, the food still deserves an in depth review. the bread was meh and shouldve been toasted the beet salad was phenomenal. would get again. sweet & sour paired welloysters were oysters. standard.tuna carpaccio was unevenly salted but the even parts were well-seasoned and paired well with crunchy breadrabbit pasta was actually quite good! texture of the pasta was on point and it was a decent portion as well. rabbit meat was hearty.dessert was actually so good i would come here just for dessert. chocolate so rich i was drinking up liquid gold

My first time actually having dinner here and not just stopping by for drinks was really good! My friends and I went in December and the restaurant was decorated so nicely for the holidays. Loved the whole vibe of the restaurant. It would be great for a date night too!Our server was attentive but not overly so. I got the steak au poivre and it was delicious! I left my leftovers at the next bar and was so sad when I realized. Another friend got the steak frites which she said was really good. And then there was the warm shrimp salad which I tasted and am definitely ordering next time.

Le dip is absolutely wonderful! I've been here a few times before but it's been a while. I came here for brunch. I got the escargots and mushroom tart. They offer a free bread service and my friends and I shared the pastry basket. Everything was wonderful! The service this time was a little slow. The server didn't get my order right although I received some free fries from a manager when they realized the mistake. The ambiance is wonderful also! I definitely would go back again. It's not my favorite French food in the area but I see why it is a dc staple.

Enjoyed everything here. The burger reminded me of a fancy Big Mac and the fries reminded me of McDonald's fries. They were basically an elevated version. The breakfast pastries were good

I came here years ago, when it was new and super trendy. It was amazing back then, but I haven't been back until last weekend, for a pre-theater brunch. I wasn't sure how it would age - it can be hard for a place to stay so good for so long! But let me tell you, it was just as good as before! The food was delicious, our server was lovely and perfectly attentive without being annoying, and the interior is timeless. We had the steak tartare to start, which was divine. I had the mussels which were probably the best I've ever had, and my husband had the duck confit - to die for. It was such a lovely meal, we won't wait years to return!

As great as everyone says. The burger was obviously delish but the macaroni au gratin and beef bourguignon (the mashed potatoes I will dream about) stole the show. Also important to note that is was one of the best bread baskets I've ever had. Service was good and ambiance was incredible. I did think the martini could have been better though.

I found myself in DC for work and relied on Yelp to steer me in the right direction for lunch. Which led me to Le Diplomate. And what a treat. The space is quant and charming on the inside. Offering indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. I snagged a seat at their bar area which is first come first serve and took in the European like ambiance. I felt like I was on set of an episode of Emily in Paris. I almost wish I visited with some friends to really try the menu but since it was just me, I started with their French onion soup. A must order. The broth was flavorful and packed with the most tender onions. Not to mention the cheese pull. I finished with their cheeseburger which also did not disappoint. It is a bit pricey otherwise worth the visit.

Le Dip consistently delivers on food, service, and vibe. One of the few reliably overall great DC spots IMO even as so many others come and go. For years I had a hard time deviating from the steak frites or au poivre but happy to say other mains do not disappoint. Escargot are a must to start and the tuna carpaccio is another favorite. Lately the move has been the warm shrimp salad and fries. At least one veg option per section of the menu too. Every season somehow feels like there's a Le Dip moment to be had but it's especially beautiful and cozy around the holidays.
