It had been waaaay too long since we visited this wonderful family-owned/run treasure. Saturday night we popped in for dinner and everything -- EVERYTHING! -- was spectacular. We had chicken and beef dishes at the table , and the meats were "like butter" - tender, marinated and spiced to perfection. The service is always warm and welcoming! And I call their refried beans simply magical! We asked our waiter why they are so insanely good -- his response? "Time." And that is the key! The kitchen takes time preparing every ingredient properly, and you can taste it in every bite. Patronize local businesses folks! This one is a winner!(Parking is limited in their small lot, but (free) spots in the surrounding neighborhood are pretty easy to score.)

We ordered 4 revueltas (cheese and pork), 1 chicken tamal, 2 orders of plantains, 1 ensalada drink, and 1 side order of refried beans. We were staying about 20-25 mins away so we ordered for delivery. The restaurant did not include our drink, even though it was listed on their printed receipt. They also didn't include the beans, which weren't even printed on the receipt. I don't understand how those items were missed. It was not a complicated order. Flavor wise (coming from a Salvadoran - Me) most everything tastes good. The plantains were a tad overcooked. But still very good. The crema, which I normally love, was just ok (I think it was turning bc something was off). The tamal was so delicious. Very moist, not dry. The few pieces of chicken inside were good. I gobbled that up. The pupusas is where I'm disappointed. They were SO THIN on the stuffing. I mean, come on. This should be where you shine as a Salvadoran restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the flavor was quite good. But if you're gonna skimp on the contents, just increase the price for crying out loud!! They were also a bit greaser than I care for. Also, the curtido was plain not good. It didn't have much flavor except for cabbage that didn't get much vinegar or salt. This should also be a staple that a Salvadoran restaurant should not mess up on. Overall, I feel like while I'd probably give it another chance, I absolutely do not recommend ordering through a service bc the restaurant workers don't seem to pay attention well when fulfilling orders placed online. In person you could at least say something. Also, the pupusas are another reason I'd go somewhere else first before coming here.

Love to support fellow hispanic restaurants and this was definitely a good one to try out! It is definitely a more family friendly cozy atmosphere! the food is priced average, and the menu composed of classic salvadoran dishes! The food was so good and the steak was just to my liking!!! They don't have a bar menu available at the table, you have to ask for drinks and they'll tell you what you can order! the service was excellent very friendly staff!!

Really tasty local place. We ordered the burrito and tacos along with a tamale app. The corn tamale was really good. For the burrito it was huge and pretty good. Would definitely recommend. My husband enjoyed his tacos as well

La Union Restaurant is one of those restaurants that you must try when in Northern Virginia. As soon as I walked in I knew that I was in for a treat. The atmosphere was so relaxing. I was immediately seated and chips and salsa were placed on the table. Chips 10/10, salsa 10/10. The chips were so thin and crispy, and the salsa was so flavorful. I shared the beef crispy tacos with my wife, and the meal came with three crispy tacos, beans, and rice. Absolutely amazing! The beef was well seasoned, nestled is a light and crispy shell. The refried beans were delicious, as well as the rice. I will definitely be back when I return to Northern Virginia!

Great papusas. Quick service. Cute small restaurant. The yuca is very good but they don't have a sauce to go with it (work on that y'all). I ordered the beef chimichangas. Crispy exterior and tasty cheesy filling.

Had driven by La Union many times before going up and down Wilson and this was the first time we pulled the trigger and decided to get take out and was definitely not disappointed The pupusas were really delicious. The texture was tender and the flavor really came through, there was also a side of tomato salsa that complimented them perfectly. We dabbed a bit of hot sauce on em for a kick which just brought it up to another level. Im sure they have hot sauce in the restaurant as well. For entrees we got 2 different versions of steak (El Tipico and Bistec Ranchero). Both were cooked well to the temperature we ordered and kept well despite a 15 min drive home. The sides were also good accompaniments. We had a tres leches to finish. I've never been a dessert person but my wife is and she REALLY enjoyed dessert. Only small knock is the prices are a bit higher than what I was expecting. Could be a recent change cause of inflation, but regardless we'll definitely be back to try out other things on the menu and if this quality and flavor persists through all their items, then they'll have earned an updated 5 star review and a couple regulars.

The festive and cozy ambiance was apparent from the moment we stepped in. We were immediately greeted with warm chips and salsa before we had even taken off our coats! My dining companion and I each had a horchata and then split 2 pupusas and chicken nachos. It was all delicious. Would highly recommend the pupusas. There were quite a few other items on the menu that we were interested in so we look forward to coming back and trying them.
