This place is such the hit. I do enjoy the burritos. Though the limited hours can make it tough.I had no idea the amount of seating space. I thought there was just the front room and outside area. But be sure to head up the stairs where you'll find plenty of options to sit down. The best food? Come here early for its breafast burritos stuffed with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese, all topped with a side of salsa. These burritos are truly delish and there are so many ways to customize.

I came back to La Tejana on my most recent visit to DC because I couldn't stop thinking about the breakfast tacos after the last time! They seem to have their system down even better now because the line was much more manageable and moved quickly. We came on a Sunday morning which I would expect to be absolute chaos, but we were in line for maybe ten minutes. Finding seating is still a challenge, and the space upstairs is cramped, but we managed to find a table. The tacos lived up to my memories in every way. Still a soft, but sturdy tortilla, cloudlike eggs, and incredible flavor. Every taco has a different standout feature. I had the La Choripapa, the 512, the 965, and the super duper migas. I really enjoyed the 512, which I hadn't tried last time, but the super duper migas might still be my favorite. The Uncle P is still the favorite of the vegetarians, for good reason. Clearly, for me, La Tejana is a must visit in DC.

YUM! My friend lives up the block from here and said we HAD to get breakfast tacos while I was visiting. The line is LONG so you know that means the hype is real! We didn't wait long in line - maybe 10 minutes? - as they were cruising through orders.Yes, they ONLY serve breakfast tacos (or until 1pm, okay?!)No, there's nowhere to sit inside - everyone takes to go, sits outside on the patio sets, or upstairs. They take your order, get you your paper bag of goodness and get you on your way. Yes, there's only 9 options so you don't have analysis paralysis. And yes, they're a bit in the pricey side. But they're a good size, more like mini burritos.I SO wish they offered a corn tortilla option but understand that they have their tortillas perfected and that's the way it is! You can't go wrong here. Perfect weekend brunch on the go!

This review is for the cocktail bar only (love their breakfast and would recommend to anyone). I was so excited to come here and we all left underwhelmed. First for it being so intimate, our server rarely checked in on us and the drinks took awhile to get. We tried 6 of their cocktails - all were strong in terms of alcohol and felt unbalanced in terms of flavor. Most were far too sour or too spicy, and the Texas dirty martini was oddly sweet. I liked their espresso martini probably the best, but there are much better ones in DC. We got chips and queso, which tasted better the more we drank. The tres leches was a fine version but nothing spectacular. I think I'll stick to their breakfast.

I stopped into La Tejana on a Saturday morning. I tried a variety of tacos. The tacos were delicious and served up very quickly. The sauces were also delicious and I was pleasantly surprised. My favorite taco was the super duper migas taco.

Delicious! The service was accommodating and the food came quick. The tortillas were memorable and the eggs were scrambled perfectly soft and creamy. Would return!

I finally had the chance to check this spot out, and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast tacos! Living right around the corner, I can't believe it's taken me this long to visit. I remember passing by a few months ago and seeing a line out the door, which, to be honest, deterred me because I really hate waiting. But on this Sunday morning, I decided to give it a shot, and luckily, there were only a couple of people ahead of me.The space is small inside, but they offer outdoor seating and a counter by the window, which is where I stood and ate while enjoying the view. Now onto the food! I recommend trying at least three different tacos if you're not planning to come back right away. Here's what I tried:956 - I was excited for this one, but honestly, where was the chorizo? It felt like it was missing. I think I would've loved it more if they had doubled up on the chorizo because it was pretty hard to find any.Super Duper Migas - This was hands down my favorite. The mix of veggies, bacon, and overall flavors was just perfect.La Choripapa - I love chorizo, but this taco just needed a little more chorizo for me to fall in love with it. I also grabbed a small iced coffee, which was really good and reasonably priced compared to most places.

Okay I see what the rave is about. Honestly the highlight of the show for me was the green tomatillo salsa, chefs kiss. We grabbed some brunch takeout on a Friday. The line was steady but we were in and out in about 30 mins or less. The music was gray and the service was pleasant! I tried the chori papa, 395 and the frijolito (regular). Now these had been sitting for about 45 mins before we got home and they were still warm and still VERY DELICIOUS. I would recommend eating them right away but I wouldn't be against takeout again! The tortillas were definitely made in house which is a huge plus! The beans were delicious and well seasoned! Since it is a DC staple, I recommend!

Really darn tasty. Service- ordering and receiving your food are within 5 mins. Professional and personable. Menu- there is a nice variety of breakfast tacos. Something for everyone. Food-I got super duper migos and 512. But had very different flavor profiles and super enjoyable. The tortilla had a nice chew to it and hearty, I love a flour tortilla! And the dipping sauces complemented the tacos to perfection. Space- counter order and small seating area upstairs and on outdoor patio. I went on a Wednesday morning and only waited for 2-3mins, I have def walked by and seen a line out the door so maybe avoid weekend mornings.

Tacos were good for DC standards! I tried the Super Duper Migas and La Choripapa. What really makes these tacos is the tortillas - they are perfect and I kind of wish I could just buy a pack of tortillas to make my own tacos at home. As for the overall tacos, I found them to be just ok. To be fair, they are breakfast tacos so there is a limit to what you can really do with the fillings but they are pretty one note - great for just one taco but not great for lunch if you want more variety and flavor. I thought I would like the Super Duper Migas more but I couldn't taste much beyond the egg and potato despite it supposedly having a lot more ingredients, whereas the Choripapa at least had a little extra saltiness from the chorizo, although it definitely could have used more. I got the 3 tacos for $13, but was decently full after just 2 tacos, so pretty good value considering you can stretch it over a couple meals! Though I did notice that if you order the set of 3, they still just give you one each of the charred tomato and cilantro creme salsas, which are priced at 50 cents each if you order extra, so I feel like it's actually more worth it to just order 3 tacos separately to get more of the salsas included (I didn't really feel like one each was enough for 3 tacos).
