La Michoacana

Great Mexican food, and large portions. The burritos are huge, and very good. The meat is tender, and filling even for someone with a big appetite. The tacos are excellent, we preferred the salmon over the beef - overall the salmon was better balanced with the salsa and rice, the beef was ok but had less spices and was a bit tough. The quesadillas are very interesting, with a texture and taste very similar to pupusas, which we enjoyed very much. Quick note, while the menu does have a kids meal of chicken nuggets and fries, these are frozen nuggets from a grocery store. Kids will eat them, but it's not food from the establishment. There's other things that kids will eat on the menu, I guess they have these so pickier eaters will have an option.This is a counter in a small food hall. The hall has some tables, but not a lot. There was a DJ on the night we went that was exceptionally loud in the tiled space. For our purposes, I'm glad we ordered takeout but others might like the music and area.While the ambience isn't my thing, and I wouldn't get the nuggets again, the overwhelming bulk of their menu is very good and we'll definitely get takeout from here again.

I came here on Cinco de Mayo in the afternoon and the place with very quiet. The customer service was good and my food was ready in about 10 minutes.The chips were great. The juice was good and not too sweet. The tacos and salsa were not the best.

I had a taste for Barria Tacos tonight. These Tacos were delicious. As well as the fries. I felt like my corn was missing something but my husband enjoyed it so. My food was definitely good, fresh, made to order and the server was patient with me as I studied the menu that cycled through on a tv screen above lol The Mixd Food hall gets 2 thumbs up from me!!

5/5 stars from me!I ate here on Saturday and tried their entire brunch menu and loved it all! I also tried their Steak Burrito and Birria Burrito. The Steak Burrito is very similar to a California style burrito which was super delicious! & the Birria Burrito was super yummy with pork inside.Highly recommend also getting one order of their churros as well (it comes with a a lot), those were amazing! Such a crowd pleasure!The food hall it's located in has ample seating and easy parking access.The whole experience was super easy and delicious.

They are located inside MiXt food hall and serve good mexican food. My favorite was their birria taco and I also enjoyed the streak burrito which was huge and had roasted potatoes which is a topping that's different than other burritos. I wasn't a fan of their birria salmon taco which is popular there or their mexican corn. Overall, not a bad place to stop by for a good quick meal.

Let me tell you something...I don't even red meat. I haven't eaten red meat in 5/6 years.Well maybe like 5/6 days, because that's the last time I had the birria beef taco from La Michocana. OH MY GOD. This place is ridiculous. I get this and the chicken tacos (which are also good but I'm not crazy about). The birria is absolutely perfect. Savory cheese and tender, tender, mouth-watering meat. I cannot say enough. I have not been to the storefront, but their taco truck circles around breweries in NE DC during the weekend. Can't wait to try something new, if I ever give this birria tacos up for a night!

Such great tacos!! I had the chance to try La Michoacana at The Other Half brewery and they were incredible. I had a hard time choosing which to order but ended up with the birria and salmon tacos. The birria was so delicious and the consommé was the perfect mix of spicy and savory. The salmon was perfectly cooked and I loved the pickled veggies on top, and slathered the habanero salsa all over for the perfect kick. They had an app that made ordering easy. It even provided real time updates so I was able to grab the orders when they were hot and fresh!

I don't eat beef or pork so I've gone all these 21 (plus some mind your business number) years never having tasted birria tacos UNTIL...La Michoacana delighted my soul and bestowed my spirit with their salmon birria tacos. Now, I'm telling everybodddddyyyyyyyy..... those tacos will make your soul glow!!! They were so good, I closed my eyes and was humming while eating them. The octopus taco was good and so was the standard salmon taco dressed with chipotle Mayo, pica de Gallo, and pickled red onions. The shrimp taco was also really fresh and light and made me reminisce about being beachside but the salmon birria tacos were the true star of the show. For my no beef or pork eaters and or pescatarians, you need to run and don't walk to get some salmon birria tacos. The staff at the Mixt food hall location will take great care of you, at least they were definitely pretty fantastic to me.

These are the best tacos around here, and the service is top notch. I highly recommend.
