I went to La Ferme for my birthday during lunchtime. The ambiance was quite nice and the service was great! The food was good and portions were great, but it took quite a long time to come out. The pâté didn't spread as well as I'd prefer, but the toasted bread was delicious. The crème brûlée was my favorite and I would definitely recommend it! Overall, it was a pretty good experience and I'm interested in trying their dinner menu sometime.

We recently had our office Christmas party at La Ferme. This was our 2nd Christmas party held at the warm and slightly old fashioned restaurant held deeply in a fancy neighborhood in Chevy Chase. Last year's party went so well - and the food was so good - that we decided to go back again this year.La Ferme did not disappoint!Upstairs in the private room, we looked down on the full dining room. Everyone was enjoying a lovely dinner. The dining room is like walking into a French country inn. The Christmas decorations only added to the charming ambiance. The service provided by the staff was flawless. They were constantly on us - offering appetizers, drinks, refreshing our plates, our table. They know how to run a restaurant. We had a limited menu due to the size of our party. I had the veal chop which was to die for!!!! Thick with a great crust seared on the outside! Ok so maybe the sides were unremarkable. But the main stage - the veal - was excellent!I think La Ferme gets a bad rap due to its age (and perhaps the average age of its customers). But, truly, if you want a place where you feel you are treated well, served some excellent food and don't feel out of place even if you are over 50, then go to La Ferme!I highly recommend this restaurant without exception!

Still our favorite restaurant in the immediate area 10 years later. The bar offerings for happy hour (food and drink) cannot be beat! Pinot the bartender/server/jack of all trades is now a great friend. We have hosted private events here and they are easy to arrange and turn out very special every time. We have had what seems like a million date nights, birthdays, family gatherings, and everything in between at La Ferme and still on a Friday late afternoon when we feel lazy about making dinner, we look at each other and go, French Onion La Ferme Burger (the best), frites and escargot at the bar? Done and done!

Just a lovely place to celebrate our anniversary. Beautiful old house with quaint French country decor on the inside. We ordered the skirt steak (specials menu) and filet mignon (regular menu). Both pieces of meat came out to perfection. My filet mignon had the perfect pink and juices. I don't believe I've had a better piece of meat anywhere else. We added the potato gratin and it was creamy and delicious. For dessert, we got the praline and Grand Marnier souffles. I have never had souffle before so had to try it since it was supposedly, "The best dessert in town!" Our server informed us that we needed to order this at the beginning of our meal since it takes 45 minutes to prepare. Though I conclude that souffles are probably not what I expected, my partner enjoyed it and finished mine as well!Service was excellent and attentive. Just a wonderful dining experience. Parking: Easy on a weeknight. Spaces are a little tight.

We had a wonderful family dinner here around Christmas time. This is such a charming restaurant! No, I can't eat here every day, but it's the perfect place for a special occasion. Service was professional and warm. Food was fantastic! We tried the French onion soup, lobster bisque, filet mignon, seafood pasta, seafood in pastry. All was beautiful and delicious! Highly recommend a visit here when you want to treat yourself!

Nice charming French restaurant in the heart of Chevy Chase. Good for a romantic date and for baguettes, souffles, and food overall. French onion soup was good, but I thought it was too pricy. I did not like the pate. Good service and nice ambiance rounds out the experience. However, this place is definitely for those who prefer a older feel to their ambiance, and have a deep pocket.

Have been going to this restaurant since it opened in 1985. It was 5 stars when it opened and has maintained the same quality ever since. It is a special occasion place for me but for many of my friends it is their regular go to place to hang out and have a spectacular meal. Sophisticated but not stuffy, very welcoming, a true delight in décor, hospitality and food excellence. You will never be disappointed in a meal here.
