Food was phenomenal. No notes. Sometimes compliments to the chef are not enough. Lots of great flavors and food was perfectly portioned. Squash/Ricotta Ravioli special was a beautiful balance of fall sweetness and savory with crunch. The garlic bread was crispy, buttery, & light. The Shrimp fra Diavolo was amazing with a nice touch of spice. So unfortunately baste that I couldn't finish it all. I tried my best. Service was super friendly as well and probably some of the best hospitality you can find in the city. I think it makes a difference when you can tell that the team actually gets along. Special thanks to Rosa, the Hostess, & Jasmine, my server. I stopped in for a quick bite after work and think I might need to come by more regularly. The place is beautiful and I loved how it feels modern but not too flashy. Very clean place with nice accents and lighting for people who like to take pictures (like me).My only feedback is that I would've expected better glassware. But perhaps that's intentional to add to the causality of the place. It seems everything comes in a rocks glass & I do, however, prefer to drink my wine from a a stemmed glass. I had the frizzante (sparkling) which I'd have loved in a flute or a coupe.Definitely would recommend coming to this place for anyone who may be on the fence. I don't think enough people know about it!

This is a 2.5 star review but I'm being nice to round up. La Collina was okay but with uneven food and service. They are pretty affordable so I'll cut them a little slack if slow service and so-so pasta are helping to keep prices low, but I wouldn't visit again.I had dinner with a group of four and we split four apps, four pastas, and some dessert. I sadly missed getting a photo of dessert or the dessert menus.Cheap cafes of house wine ($45) were a highlight; we got two, a solid lambrusco and a solid red. I wish more restaurants did this.Apps were okay. We had the broccolini ($9), burrata ($14, with seasonal apples), garlic bread ($7), and arancini ($12 for 3). The broccolini was a little watery and sweet from the red peppers, which you might or might not like. Burrata was standard. Garlic bread a bit lame, and felt necessary to order since the burrata didn't come with any toast. The arancini was a highlight, as good as any I've had.The pastas were so-so to bad. We all disliked the cacio e pepe ($18) which didn't have enough cheese or pepper; a real dud. Some liked the lamb bolognese ($23) but I found the sauce way too sweet. The wagyu lasagne ($32) had a novel presentation -- three rolled pieces -- but the meat inside seemed more like pulled pork or short rib to me; not worth the "wagyu" name or price. Shrimp diavolo ($22) was my favorite but didn't seem very spicy, I would not have called it diavolo.Dessert was so-so to good. We had bombolini (5 to an order), olive oil cake, and tiramisu semifreddo. Bombolini were not very flavorful and relied entirely on the caramel sauce they came with. Olive oil cake some found too crumbly and came with a lemon sauce some disliked. The tiramisu was very tasty but also very frozen; not semifreddo at all. We had some coffee, amari, and an espresso martini which were fine.Service was helpful but slow. There were some very nice touches, like explaining the seasonal sides that came with the burrata without being asked, and offering to add another arancini to the order (since the default is three, but we were a four top). Service was friendly. But there were long gaps to get served and an acknowledgement at the end that service was slow "because they only had two people working."I have a few problems with the menus. First, I felt like I was looking at a fall menu they forgot to update, not a late winter menu, due to burrata with "seasonal" apples, a mulled wine, a fig-maple cocktail, and a pumpkin cocktail. Second, they don't post their drink or dessert menus on their website. Third, they were out of three different drinks we ordered (mulled wine and two dessert wines); either fix your menu or fix your bar. This was Saturday night, prime time, Valentine's Day weekend; why are you not fully stocked? This further slowed down service because our waiter had to check with the bar, only to find out drinks we're available.

My husband and I shared the broccolini and arancini. I liked my lamb bolognese - the texture of the pasta was great. Unfortunately, I think they were understaffed when we came because it took about 50 minutes for us to get our first appetizers... and I was on the verge of being hangry. We also ordered half carafe of the prosecco which was served in a wide, flat bottomed glass that got rid of all the bubbles! However, overall the ambiance was nice and the food was solid.

All I have to say is WOW. The tomato bucatini was deliciously cooked perfectly al dente and paired with a flavorful, savory sauce. We got a carafe of one of the cocktails and it was delicious. The dimly lit and minimalist environment lends itself to a classy and intimate setting. Our server was friendly and helpful. I also loved that when they bring the bill, they share that the 20% has already been added to the bill.

OVERALL: good pasta but leaves you wanting more in a bad wayFOOD: I got the alla vodka pasta. It was good but I felt that something was missing. The flavor was missing an oomph factor. Can't comment on the service or venue/ambiance because I ordered online.

Great outdoor seating on such a lovely evening! We didn't have to wait for outdoor sitting on a Saturday night about 7pm, however for inside sitting, it was a 1.5 hour wait. We had nice service and tried the garlic bread, cacio de Pepe and shrimp diavolo. All were tasty. They add a 22% service charge to the bill and are very transparent about it so you don't double tip unless you want to.

a great restaurant week find!!! my partner and I went here for DC restaurant week and this place really exceeded expectations. I usually shy away from Italian food, but La Collina offered a unique experience with food that blew me away. The pasta ala vodka was tasty and definitely incomparable to anything I could make at home. The space is intimate, with 3 separate rooms, each with only a handful of tables in them. I found it nice + cozy.I can't wait to go back and experience the full menu :)

This restaurant is incredible. I had the lamb Ragu Bolognese, and it was excellent. The cheese on top is such a good addition. Also, the rosemary focaccia bread is 10 out of 10 can't go wrong. The restaurant is so cute. From the art on the walls to the decor even the coffee bar everything about it is really adorable. The weight stuff is really attentive. I've never had a problem. The food is always prompt and swift. However, they do not have ice with your water. You do have to ask for it, but that's not a dealbreaker. The desert is also a star of the show. The tiramisu is a really fun modern take on a classic dessert. However, the donuts were incredible. I highly recommend this place for a date night for taking people who are visiting the city, or for a corporate dinner. 10 out of 10.

I used La Collina for my son's rehearsal dinner last weekend. Planning it from 3,000 miles away was difficult but Natalie and her team were fantastic to work with. The food was even better than we had remembered from our first tasting (especially the Florentine steak). They were so accommodating in helping us make the room feel personalized and festive for the bride and groom. When I was looking in DC for medium rental places, they were hard to find, but we struck gold in La Collina.

Came here with a large group of 25. We made a reservation ahead of time over the phone where the manager told us that we would need a $600 deposit to "hold the room" where they wanted to place our group, which we kindly agreed to. She assured us that we would not be charged, it was just a deposit. At the end of the meal we were told that there was a "miscommunication" and we were being charged the $600 for the room. Our bill was $1800 in total so we spent a good amount of money at the restaurant, but they were not willing to cooperate with us to lower the price of the room due to their "miscommunication".
