W.O.W. 5/5 ambiance. Loved the decor and look of the place. It's very romantic and picturesque but good to come with girlfriends as well.5/5 food and taste. 100% will be retuning for all that we got and more. We were in the mood to spend a little bit and were intrigued to try Chef Peter's restaurant as we've been to his other restaurant, Yume (Arlington, Va) several times. All of his dishes we tasted were spectacular and the flavors and textures melded so well. 5/5 service. Our server, Vanessa, was very attentive and was always alert and ready. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some delicious suggestions. We felt very taken care of.

Customer service is excellent, the hostess gave my friends and I free champagne and a $20 off for the long wait. It was Valentine's Day so understandable. Food was good! I got the sushi roll and spicy edamame. The only thing was the sushi roll was TINY like smallest roll I've ever had. Insanely small for $18. Also I got a Sapporo beer and they brought it in a CAN- NO DRAFT FOR $10 is a crime. The vibe was immaculate. Such cute pictures, easy to talk with friends. Overall good experience, would only come on occasion or fancy date night though.

Celebrate Valentine's Day with someone special at KyojinEnjoy a 6 Course Valentine's Dinner that is available until February 16th! This is a dinner you truly do not want to miss! This luxurious dinner I experienced was pleasantly notable! I absolutely loved how every course had so much depth in every bite!Closing my eyes to some courses to heighten my senses, elevating my ability to truly admire the flavor of each course! The Yume Hospitality Group puts in so much passion and care into their art, I am honored to be able to work with them and taste their delicious plates! They also have the coolest mirror in the bathroom and I couln't resist getting in some pictures!

Stopped by for restaurant week. It's a super cool place with super attentive staff. It's been on my list so was excited for their restaurant week menu. I started with the tuna tartare which was juicy and was wonderfully spicy . I upgraded to get the spicy toro roll which was by far the best thing to get. For five dollars extra its definitely worth it. The third course was the surf and turf. These were two very delicious bites. I will say it is small though so come here if you are not super hungry. Dessert was a variety of ice cream options. I chose sea salt caramel which was delicious and creamy. I'd love to come back for just their sushi I think.

Being Japanese means I'm always searching for the ultimate soosh joint. I don't really like fusion so Kyojin wasn't really my thing but I did like the ambiance. The seafood was fresh and the presentation was impeccable. I didn't downgrade stars for it being fusion- I did feel there was some overwhelming power plays between some flavors in seasoning but I'm always the "simple is best" eater. I'm glad I tried it out. It's a nice spot to catch up with friends.

Worked with the restaurant to hold a last minute, large group dinner here. The staff was pretty responsive and accommodating, and I appreciated them for being able to put together a space for me so quickly. I would describe the restaurant as being pretty "vibey". It sort of feels like you are in an underground cave when you walk in. There's a large bar area with seating, as well as plenty of seating at a separate sushi counter, where you can watch the chefs prepare fresh sushi right in front of you. All in all, I have no major complaints about the night. The server was friendly and accommodating, the cocktails were interesting and tasty, and the food was good, even if the portion sizes were a bit small. This is a great spot to celebrate a special occasion or for a date night.

They're very expensive, small portion but some dishes are amazing and worth every penny. 1. Reservation: need if you visit Thu-Sat. You'll get away with not having one t Mon-Wed.2. Drinks: 4/5 stars. decent.3. Food: 4.5 starsSome items are truly better than others. - ceviche: quite good, not a fan of the nori chips it comes with - Lemon shooters: perfect! Must try!! I could eat 100 of this! - uni pasta: you can skip this. NOT good at all - sashimi platter $60 and it was disappointing selection 4. Service: very pushy 2/5 stars I don't like it when the server shows up every 3 minutes and won't even give us a chance to catch up or talk with each other. And he keeps saying "that's it? that's all?". What more do you want from us? 5 plates and 3 drinks for 2 people and you have the audacity to say that's all you're getting? seriously? 5. Ambience: 4/5 starsInteresting, exposed bricks, fake decor of tubes and quite dark. Had a separate bar area and lots of little rooms interconnected. Bathroom for men and women are together. All in all, get their signature good items to eat and maybe sitting in the bar area will be less stressful as you won't be pushed to order for more every few minutes.

Stopped here after a movie and the food and service were amazing. Ordered some soup and sashimi rolls that I'd put up against any sushi spot in Gtown. The decor and ambiance make it a destination spot as well so if you're in Gtown and wanna go to a spot with good drinks, food and a good time put this on the list!

We returned to Kyojin for a family dinner, and once again, the experience was fantastic. The setting is vibrant, with soothing background music that creates a relaxing atmosphere. The food is absolutely spectacular. My wife loved the Secret Garden mocktail and the spicy miso soup. For appetizers, we enjoyed the Spicy Tako Salad with chili yuzu and garlic ponzu, along with a delicious ceviche served with wasabi nori chips. The Lobster Volcano roll was the highlight of the meal, the taste was incredible, and it's a must try! Another standout was the Japanese Sandwich with rice crackers and mango tobiko sauce. Harrison took great care of us, ensuring we had a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend Kyojin for any special occasion!

Highly recommend sitting at the counter. They make so many unique sushi creations using high end techniques that it's very entertaining to watch. They added gold leaves, used the smoke box etc. You're not just watching your own orders get made but everyone's order at the restaurant so you can see what looks good to order too!I got the spicy toro with uni roll, carpaccio style lavender smoked salmon, raw creamy scallop roll and tried a piece of my friend's wagyu roll. Kyojin's wagyu and scallop were delicious. Their uni was also quite good too and very creamy. Their toro was good but not blow me out the water good. Not sure what I was expecting, maybe just a smokier flavored sashimi but I found the lavendar smoked salmon to be too chewy, closer to store smoked salmon in texture than sashimi. The raw scallop was delicious and buttery but jalepeno mayo was too overpowering. I might try their miso garlic butter scallops next time. Kyojin is quite pricey but offers extensive high quality a la carte options.
