Cool place with a kinda unique vibe! Right on the DC Wharf, Kirwan's puts you right where the action is. Great for a date night or just an evening out with the guys for a couple of cold ones. Expect an upscale but casual bar scene, with plenty of sit-down room if that's what you're looking for too. And the semi-outdoor seating is nice as well, and opens up to the wharf when the weather is nice. The menu and drink selection is pretty decent, and the food is superb. Not much else to say, other than that there's not much better after a couple of cold beers and some grub than a nice easy walk along the wharf, checking out the water and the marina and doing a little light people-watching. LOL.

Kirwan's is a fun spot on the Wharf! We came in for a late night snack and a beer. The kitchen stays open until midnight. I ordered a half and half beer, which I had never experienced before. It was such a big beer that I couldn't even get through the first half of it. We also had the fish and chips. They were done just right! I enjoyed the dipping sauces, including the mashed pea spread. We had fun listening to the live music! Great 90s hits! I would come back again to grab a beer.

I'm so glad a place like this exists at the wharf. Cozy, doesn't feel tourist, and has great drink options. My only gripe is I was charged double the price for a whiskey I ordered. I used the whiskey list from the website to save the (very busy) servers time fetching the whiskey menu, but was later told (after inquiring) that the real price is actually DOUBLE what's on the site. I would've picked a cheaper option had I known.

This place was pretty good. I must say, casual, well-priced food options are few and far between in this area of DC. Everything seems to be super overrated and overpriced. Kirwan's stood out to us because it's an Irish bar and we really just wanted a casual bite to eat before the concert we were going to. This place was homey inside with plenty of bar seating, an upstairs dining area, a swanky back bar, and patio seating. We snagged two seats at the downstairs bar. Service was a little spotty with some interactions taking longer than necessary. Specifically, we watched several pours of Guinness be completed only halfway and then left abandoned on the bar for several minutes - for up to 10, 15 minutes. I know it's customary to let a Guinness settle after pouring about three quarters of the way, but these pours were left sitting incomplete far too long. My boyfriend is a Guinness freak and this was driving him crazy to watch. The gluten free options are far and few between but at least they are clearly marked. I got the caesar salad with chicken and a side of french fries. My boyfriend got the fish and chips. The food was fairly good but nothing to write home about. The meal came to about $100 which seemed steep for what it was. I'm not in a rush to come back.

Fancier than your normal Irish pub. Very nice bar with TVs. Creative cocktail menu. Shepards pie had a lot of nice flavors but should have been a little bigger for the price. Service was very attentive and polite.

We went back to Kirwan's On The Wharf in Washington, D.C., to try their Fish and Chips plate after being told by our server that they were better than Gordon Ramsey's!lol Happy to report the Fish & Chips were OUTSTANDING 5/5!! The fish was fluffy and crispy with a good beer batter. A must try when in the area!! Great service and nice ambiance!Happy Yelping :)

Came here after the Tems concert. Pretty good place for a burger and fries. Prices were reasonable. Was surprised since it was at the wharf. The server was amazing, even let us take our drinks to go. Ambiance was great. Had my meal outside by the front. I highly recommend.

I am all about the Irish but Kirwan's wasn't giving any of the friendly, warm Irish vibes they normally give. Cozy, cool upstairs. Went for Happy Hour but everything went wrong. We ordered Happy Hour wines, got full price wines. We ordered one item each, got 3 items. Although very few people in the room, service was slow. This is a great space and one of my first loves on the Wharf for lunch and dinner, but they do not put the happy in the happy hour. Or maybe just an off night? Hard to tell, but too many great Happy Hour choices on the Wharf to waste time on a mediocre one.

The live music was awesome. Not too loud either. The food was good, I mean the lamb burger I've had. It was the best burger I've ever had in my life! The sprite didn't taste anything like it. It was tasty, I had to ask for another. The waiters were amazing. The beef stew isn't all that, I counted on 4 tiny pieces. But I would definitely eat here again if I'm ever in DC again.
