We had originally come here for dinner, but changed our mind when we saw that the foul is listed as a brunch item. So we came back on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is a plain unprepossessing space. There were three in our party and we were given a booth. The small children of an Asian family that were there enjoyed taking their picture with the little statue of Anubis that is near the door Koshary is a vegetarian dish and a signature item on the menu. Since one of us is vegetarian, we decided to all go vegetarian. Ovo-vegetarian that is. We ordered the Koshary and the foul and the Shakshuka. The Koshary is a mix of chickpeas and grains, and crispy fried onions It comes with a red sauce that you mix in with it At the table are two bottles. One is a hot sauce and the other is a garlic and lemon juice vinaigrette. You are told you are welcome to add either one to this dish as well. The hot sauce was mildly hot since I'm Indian. The garlic vinaigrette was OK. Maybe better on a salad. This was delicious and I can see why they are proud of it.In law school, my roommate was a Lebanese from Sierra Leone who introduced me to foul. A rough description is that it is hummus, but made with fava beans. It is an Egyptian staple and they do a good job of preparing it here. They bring you Egyptian pita bread with which to scoop it up.The Shakshuka is menemen or Turkish poached eggs by another name. It arrived a little later than the other dishes and was piping hot. For three guys in their 60s, this was plenty of food My one friend had the strawberry smoothie while my other friend and I had the Turkish coffee My friend enjoyed his smoothie and we enjoyed our Turkish coffeeIf you have not had Turkish coffee before, be aware that the grounds at the bottom of the cup, and it is basically thick like mud. Our server was friendly and informative, and did not rush us They also have a selection of tagines. Among which is one with oxtail, which I very much want to try on my next visit. As you can see from there, Paige, they also serve Branzino, which is a delicious fish, but I tend to favor fish that has not had to travel so far. As you can see from the absence of a photo, we ate the Shakshuka before I could take a picture of it :-)

This was my first time trying koshary and omg! Im a fan! My friend dined at the restaurant and brought me back an order. The portion was massive! It was enough for four meals. The crispy onions were incredible and I loved the different types of pasta mixed with rice. I don't live in town but I'll definitely be visiting when I come back!

I love coming here and trying new dishes from their menu. I have loved everything I've tried. The koshary is a must. I've had it in Cairo and Giza, and must say, I think King of Koshary makes the best one I've tried. I also like the branzino. They serve this with rice and fresh salad. They cook the fish with a nice char. So flavorful! If you just want a snack or appetizer I recommend the moussaka (stewed eggplant) and the fetter with honey (a delicious, flaky bread).Their juices are so fresh and flavorful. Try the mango juice and the lemon & mint.Every time I come here the service is top notch. Also, I love how they always seem to be updating their decor. I love when I see local business thriving!

Absolutely delicious. I searched high and low for an authentic Egyptian restaurant that I could take my family to so we could eat some of our favorite meals found on our trip to Egypt. King of Koshary did not disappoint! Their Koshary was delicious! Huge portion that we could have split for an incredible price. My sister got the baba ganouj, which she said was one of the best she's ever had. My husband got the chicken schwarma platter. This was also a generous portion. The falafel was to die for! It was so light and had the best texture I've had in the US. I wasn't the biggest fan of the hummus, but honestly, it doesn't matter compared to everything else. In addition, the service was outstanding. They were so warm, welcoming, and accommodating. Egyptian food isn't known for being spicy, so they even brought whole jalepenos to my husband to ensure he enjoyed his meal. Too everything off with a Turkish coffee or mint tea and this is a perfect meal!

The menu was large here, but I came seeking the titular koshary. Many cultures have their beans and rice dish, but the Egyptian koshary is one of the more exciting renditions, and the version here is indeed fit for a king. When I use fried onions at home, I use them liberally, and the people here clearly agree that there is no such thing as too many fried onions on top. But the spiced tomato sauce given to mix in hit the spot, and the macaroni noodles were an al dente that just breaks up the textural experience of eating the lentils and rice and gives more surface area to soak up the flavor of the sauces, making for a dynamic way to deliver some flavors you probably are familiar with. The added sauces at the table weren't necessary, but they were good.A strong tea completed my meal, and while I didn't have room for any of their other bean-based classics, they looked appealing. This place isn't a high-end ambiance by any stretch, but I'm all about the food, and they delivered what the name on the door promised.

Was in the neighbor so stopped by to try a few things. Very friendly service. I tried falafel (they were very proud to point out they make Egyptian style falafel with fava beans, not chicken peas). Delicious. Crispy, flavorful, big hit. Hummus was good, taste homemade. King Tut salad very fresh. Happy to support local, small business with such fresh food.
