I went to the Kalveras food truck for a quick bite to eat for lunch. Overall, it's a rather large portion, but the food was kind of sloppily put together.Very predictably, I got the Gyro as the entrée, and there was a lot of lettuce and salad that came with the meal, ...but not a huge portion of meat or tzadziki sauce. My friends got a salad, and our entrées basically look the exact same except for some pita bread. The speed of service was average, so this food truck doesn't really stand out to me.

Not sure how long good trucks will last.Well thought out basic menu. Went for fajitas, at a pricey option at 13 clams, what is it with these trucks charging an arm and leg for lunch? Fajitas are cooked well, but involve little marinade or seasoning. On top of that they weren't that tender either. Guaca on the side is good, but far too little as is the pico. Biggest dud, the rice. Barely even properly cooked and hard.Still it did make a solid meal rice aside, but for the price I would have expected far better flavors. Good for in a pinch, but not for what they are charging by far.

OMG ... was so good, I had to write this review while eating it. I got a combo beef and chicken burrito bowl ($12.10). Beef and chicken was seasoned to perfection. The guac is some of the best I've had in a while. Grilled veggies so fresh, sweet, and crispy. The salsa, the rice, the bean, the everything, just soooooo good. Can't wait to have this truck again. They used to have a really good combo which included really good grill shrimp too which I miss :.(

One of my fave food trucks (and I've been to more than I care to admit :p)! From the fajitas to enchiladas, everything is tasty and fresh. I like all the veggies they use for the veggie enchiladas. I could go either way on that cheese sauce thing they pour over the enchiladas, but anyways definitely check this one out!

Amazing new food truck addition to the D.C. area. It's hard to get Mexican food right, especially in a truck format---and this little truck with its tasty enchiladas (steak Rojas), rice, beans, and fresh guacamole, is absolutely the front runner. The service is reasonably fast, the prices were appropriate ($10 for my 2 enchiladas and sides), and moreover, the food was simple but delicious.

I've said it and written it many times before, I like my Mexican food to come from dingy, hole-in-the-wall type of places, and Kalaveras embodies all those things in the form of a food-truck. No offense to the Oyamels or the Rosa Mexicana's of the world, but I prefer not to pay $15 for some tacos.Comparably priced to all other food-trucks, you can get a couple of enchiladas (your choice of red or green...or christmas style) with sides of rice, beans, and guac. I may venture to say that enchiladas are pretty high on my favorite types of junk food, so I'm happy to have Kalaveras rolling around town and I'll look for them the next time they're in the neighborhood. If there was one thing that knocked them off the 5-star pedestal, was that the wait was quite long. I appreciate that it's a mom and daughter shop throwing out some authentically delicious cuisine, but a food truck during the rush of a working lunch hour needs to pick up the pace just a bit. Because I mean, after stuffing my face with cheese, tortilla, and meat, I'm going to need to take a nap. Which means I need my food quick in order for me to make sure I get my food coma siesta out of the way before trudging through the rest of the work day.

No wait for me when I ate here and the poblano mole enchiladas came out in 2 minutes. They were quite good. Lots of food and delicious.

The WORST enchiladas and for $11. I ordered the mole enchiladas and asked for cheese only since that's how grandma makes them. Never would I have imaged that their idea of cheese was cheese SAUCE (queso). Totally disgusting.

I love food trucks. Work right in Chinatown and go there all the time but feel there aren"t enough useful reviews because I have had some really good and really bad food. Today, checked out this place. Guy was nice and helpful. I ordered the fajitas for $12, awesome. Really good. I would come back, try them out.

The enchiladas were only ok. I had the beef and there was a lot of gristle, which I think is due to lower quality meat. Beans and rice were good.
