Another happy visit! The Buffet was so good, and the personnel explained what each item was and were obviously very proud of their offerings. I told them it was the best meal I had enjoyed for a long time, and meant it! As always, spotlessly clean and welcoming. It is a joy to enter into a different culture at its finest. We have enjoyed this restaurant immensely over the years. I heartily recommend it! (Again!)

Kabul Kabob House Express - Afghan Comfort Food Done Right!Jasmine and I were in the mood for some Afghan food, so we decided to check out Kabul Kabob House Express. The moment we walked in, the place felt warm and cultural -- you could tell this spot has its regulars, and for good reason.Samir hooked us up with a mix of mains and sides. For entrees, we had Koobideh, Lamb, and Chicken. On the side, we tried Beef Curry, Chickpeas, Eggplant, and Spinach. And, of course, we loaded up on buttery rice, naan, and their white and green sauces. Here's the breakdown:- The Koobideh was perfectly seared and seasoned, with that smoky grill flavor. - The Lamb was tender and juicy, melting in your mouth. - The Chicken was lean but still flavorful -- great for a lighter option. - The Chickpeas stole the show with their bold, standout flavor. - The Eggplant was well-seasoned with spices that added depth to every bite. - The Beef Curry felt homey, like a dish my family might make on a rainy day. It reminded me of Indonesian rendang, which hit all the nostalgic notes. - The Spinach was the perfect balance to all the rich flavors, keeping the meal rounded out. The rice was buttery and packed with flavor, and the naan made every bite better, whether scooping up curry or pairing with the kabobs. For sauce lovers: the green sauce is spicy and bold, while the white sauce is mild and creamy -- perfect for balancing out the heat.If you're craving Afghan food that's comforting, flavorful, and perfect for a cozy meal, Kabul Kabob House Express is the spot. It's one of those places that feels like a hidden gem you're glad to discover. I'm already planning my next visit!

A nice find off Van Dorn near LA Mart. We had a hankering for meat on a skewer so we tried out Kabul Kabob. We entered a comfortable, clean restaurant and placed our orders with the staffer at the back next to the little buffet, which we could have opted for. Instead, JP ordered the #8 Lamb Shank and I asked for the #3 Beef Kabob. With my order, I was allowed to pick a vegetable side. Peering into the buffet cabinet, I saw spinach and chickpeas. I wanted to get chickpeas, but I saw little bits of green mixed in with the chickpeas. I asked what the green was, and sure enough, it was Lucifer's weed, cilantro. So I was going to get the spinach instead, but the young guy behind the counter said they had chickpeas in the back that had not been desecrated yet, would I like some? I said we gotta deal! Our orders came out with a separate tray loaded with hot freshly baked Tandoori bread the size of elephant ears. Our entrees were excellent. The tossed salad was as fresh as could be, accompanied by a very delicious, slightly sweet ranch-like dressing. The beef portion was generous and I was introduced to new spices that I liked and found light and pleasant. My entrée came with two types of an excellent basmati rice. JP's lamb shank also came with salad and two rices. What we did was tear pieces of the Afghan Tandoori bread and top the bread with things from our entrée and eat them like tacos. We had lots of bread left over. The Afghan bread is more like American bread than like Indian naan.In a shaker on the table was a light pleasant ground spice the color of saffron. We used plenty of it.

I absolutely love Kabob House. This has been my go to spot for years on weekend when I don't feel like cooking, yet I have a taste for a home cooked meal. And the portion sides are generous. The staff is consistently welcoming and friendly. I hope this place stays open forever. The lamb platter, gyro, lamb salad or the lamb chops are my favorites. The chickpeas are some of the best I've ever had.

With so many other food places in this shopping center, I didn't know where to start! But we chose this place b/c we love halal food. We were not disappointed! Everything we had was FANTASTIC. The lamb kabobs were super juicy, the rice was fabulous, the naan, the white sauce, the chickpeas, the spinach .. I could go on and on. The inside of the restaurant is not too fancy, there was a tv on playing some cool music. The employees take your order but pretty much leave you to yourself to enjoy your food after it's ready. Which was fine with my family, because we devoured the food. I also love that they give you a LOT of food, which can be saved for later. Overall great experience. Will DEFINITELY be back.

Went there last Friday for some grub because I was in the mood for some kebabs. When I got there it was a line but it went fairly easy. Got to the counter ordered a gyro and the chicken plate with a side of lentils. Got home looked at the gyro first and it is huge filled with plenty of meat (pause ). Definitely couldn't finish it in one sitting. We'll worth the money. And the chicken was grilled well with a side salad and rice. All in all pretty good ended up spending about $32 for everything.

Amazing exotic flavors! I recommend the number one dish on their menu; kobideh platter. It's ground beef kabobs skewers over rice and a small salad, pretty classic for middle eastern food. The meat however tastes amazing, spicy flavorsome, not spicy hot. The rice is equally flavorful and tasty. The platter comes with a stone oven baked bread, and a small side of chickpea or okra; a feast on its own!The decor is modest but authentic, and service friendly. I have already visited this place twice, and will definitely return!

I love coming for dinner here because the food and service is always 100%. It does take around 15-20 minutes to get your food but that is because they make everything fresh so it is understandable. I've gotten the combo option (chicken and beef) which it is great for 2 people. This time I opted for the beef which comes with a side (side options vary each day)

My favorite local Afghan style kabob place. I've been coming here for years, and the portion sizes, flavor and succulent meat are all the best. The charcoal grilled meat is just addicting, and I love the spices, the "green sauce" and "white sauce".My go-to is the kabob combinations that have 3 skewers of meat, two styles of rice, salad, naan, and a side dish. I have been favoring the #13 Chicken and Kubideh recently, I love the the lamb and beef kubideh kabob. The naan is huge, fluffy and perfect. The rice is plentiful and has two types, one white and one brown spiced. I always drizzle all of the food with the white and green sauce, then wrap the food in naan a la taco style. So addicting. I also highly recommend the beef meatball side dish, the flavors are so good and the meat is tender and juicy. It is more of a lunch place interior wise as it is very simple, but adorned with beautiful handmade rugs. The servers have always been polite and they keep all the tables very clean. I also recommend to eat fresh in-restaurant. I tried it to-go and while it was still good, unfortunately I think the chicken might have dried out a tad from the journey home. The shopping center that Kabul Kabob is in is very international with tons of interesting restaurants to choose from, from Ethiopian to Vietnamese, yet I can't bring myself to try any of them because as soon as I see Kabul I only want to eat there! Must try their kabob!
