1.4.24I was going to have lunch with a friend, but upon entering I noticed that the dining area was blocked off. I asked a staff member and was informed that they only do carryout on weekdays. Updating their website and putting signs up outside the cafe would be helpful. We were disappointed and decided on another restaurant in the same shopping center.

A classic in Rockville. It had been a while since my family and I had lunch here, and it was good as always! They have more bare-boned ambiance and service, but very efficient and effective. And most importantly, the food is still stellar and addictive. Such a nostalgic spot for me and will definitely be back:)

They are so so nice! We arrived 10 minutes before closing and they still served us with a smile. Their site crashed today on UberEats (which is normally how you can place an order before arrival). They are also on Fantuan 飯糰 app but they said the menu on that app is not as extensive as that of UberEats. I placed an order in person (pretty decent sized order) and within 8 minutes everything was ready and well packaged. Lightning fast!

I've been ordering from Jumbo Jumbo ever since it had a place in Montgomery Mall and the location by IHOP and I just can't get enough of the popcorn chicken and squid. So sad those places closed down. This is the only location left in the Rockville area and I will be so sad if they ever close down (please don't!) because their food is very good when you have cravings for Taiwanese popcorn chicken or other comfort foods. This cafe is located in a shopping center off Rockville Pike right next to the Montgomery College campus, East Gude drive, pretty easy to find, plenty of parking too.The drinks are pretty good too if you are craving a more old school traditional bubble tea without all those fancy toppings.Again, the seasoning on their Taiwanese popcorn chicken can't be matched by any other place, so definitely try it out if it's your first time!

I'm actually blown away that you can get a substantial meal for less than ten dollars. They definitely provide that nostalgic old school boba vibes. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken has a great crunch even after I took it home. It has nice flavor to it and has a nice spicy kick to it. I got the minced pork with marinated egg over rice. It was absolutely delicious. I actually prefer their minced pork rice over the one from Yu noodle cafe. The classic boba milk tea is classic gold. The ladies working the front are so nice and friendly. Worth stopping by for a quick drink and meal after you get tired from food shopping at New York mart. Currently it's take away only.

We were visiting the area and came across this resto. The service was fast just like any other Asian spots. We've had Asian food so many times at different locations, this is just average. The portion was not as huge as California serving. The lo mein was kinda bland. The chicken was a bit dry on the chicken with vegie dish but the sauce was really good. The ambiance of the restaurant looks bright and clean.

This is my favorite place to purchase the Taiwanese spiced chicken and shrimp with lobster sauce over rice. I can probably eat them daily and never get sick of it. The chicken morsels are flavorful and the batter not too thick. The basil adds a nice flavor along with the five spice powder and white pepper powder they use. The restaurant is still doing takeouts only and no dining inside. It would be nice if they can resume dining in because I'd love to come get dinner after work with them. I also wished that restaurant allows takeout or delivery via Doordash. I would order from them daily for my work lunch. Because the place is takeout only, I have to call in or place the order once getting there. Luckily the turnaround time is pretty fast and there's bubble tea to sip on while waiting. On a side note, the location does offer easy free parking and takes Amex / Apple Pay. Their customer service is friendly and prompt. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

My mom used to take me and my siblings here all the time when I was a kid. The popcorn chicken was the staple. Though sadly over time the quality definitely went down. Originally you could get spicy popcorn chicken that was actually spicy. Now it is very mild. But I still like going here for their popcorn chicken. I've also tried their fried noodles as well as their beef noodle soup. Both of which were great. Though at some point the quality of the beef noodle soup was not so good. The bok choy was too tough and the beef had too much tendon. My brother likes their Chang Guo Mian (a seafood noodle soup). It smells very fragrant. Originally, the restaurant was half the size. But they started get so much business that they expanded to essentially double the space. Even so, it isn't great for large groups.

Rarely would I give one or two stars for a business I've been a regular at for some time unless something pretty dire happens--this time it was a customer service related issue, which I would have never guessed a few weeks ago (when we were last here). Before getting into the customer service issue I'd have to say the food is generally tasty but priced a little higher than comparable places. The quality is also not entirely consistent. We have always thought the counter staff to be super nice and friendly--and reasonable, I once had a bubble tea here where they accidentally doubled my sugar. It was undrinkable (that is the only way to describe it). I took it back and they were apologetic and said anytime my drink did not taste right we could bring it back and they would remake it. Fast forward to today: our bubble teas tasted definitely strange and not what we ordered (we usually get the same thing) and we asked if they would make them over. One would have thought we were making some sort of outrageous request. Not only did the staff suddenly turn hostile and insist nothing was wrong with our drinks, it seemed like they didn't want to remake them (we had taken only a few sips--and were sure something was off). I couldn't understand their strange reaction but was firm about the fact the drinks did not taste right. We had also driven back early from a planned activity and taken the time to bring the drinks back to let them know and to receive what we had actually ordered. The counter staff continued to argue that nothing was wrong with the first drinks, but they reluctantly remade them. We were pretty shocked by this changed behavior--as if they had never seen us before when we brought the drinks back rather than treating us as regular customers --and even though they might have been having an off day or forgotten if something had been mixed incorrectly, there was no excuse for treating us the way they did. I left feeling sad and disappointed. That being said I can highly recommend the Jumbo Jumbo location in College Park which I also have been a regular at for many years. That one has never been disappointing and their food is much more consistent as is their service.

Their Taiwanese chicken is great. The appetizer always tastes more fresh and crunchy than the entree so stick with that. Their honeydew green tea is also perfect.
