Fish was fresh and was trout , I ordered 2 sandwiches with wheat bread, my order was correct each piece was fried to perfection. I was also had the opportunity to put any sauce I wanted before wrapping my order up in foil.

I've tried their fried fish and it was delicious, especially for the price that you pay. Very good value.

When it was owned and managed by JJ, nobody in DC had a bad word to say. I will leave it at this. The people inaide this place need to find another profession. menacing looks as if you offend them by choosing your order. Customer service like you are a prisoner. Despite my tipping them $5 faithfully for puttig my order in bags, the manager had the audacity to refuse to let me slide the day when, get ready..... I was ONE PENNY short. no exaggeration. Never went back since. Did however notice that they are now only open on Fridays now. I can not wait to see this rathole go belly up !!!!

When JJ was there it was great. Idk what this older chick and this CO are doing. They took my order by phone but, never bothered to inform me that they don't except debit cards. What business today doesn't except cards? Once I had gotten there the Yeti seeing the card in my hand had the nerve to point to a sign on the wall. "Cash Only." Then told me that the liquor store or the CVS had ATM's. I told him that I had no way of knowing that they were a cash only business. I called my order in. I was asked how long would I be (ETA). Had I knew I would have stopped at my ATM (that I passed on the way). So, out the door I go back down to Petworth Station to get cash from my banking institute to avoid $3.50 extra charge. Once I return and get my food the Bigfoot ask if I needed any condiments and I told him yes tauter sauce. This fool told me that I could only get four packs of sauce per piece of fish. Never Ever going to spend another cent in this whole in the wall. It belongs next to an alley. Pure trash!!! I think the pics will say the rest.

Went here today for some lunch and the food was horrible. I ordered the Croaker fish, macaroni & cheese and Cole slaw. I took my food up the street to Rock Creek Park and after digging in to the croaker it was not fresh at all, the fish was grayish in color and slimy looking. The second piece of fish was totally opposite, the macaroni & cheese tasted like a kindergarten class prepared it and last but not least.....how do you screw up Cole slaw? If I'm correct there is 3-4 ingredients in making Cole slaw. This place is horrible! Obviously the food is not fresh and the cook is not qualified to serve at a homeless shelter.

Can't go wrong with JJ's! Possibly the best I've had. Highly recommend Food and service is top notch

Probably the best fried fish in town. Unmatched crispness, flavor, and flakiness of the fish. Soooo good. And the price is right! But - they're only open 1 day a week. Get in there before they sell out every Friday afternoon.

This was the WORST food ever! I wouldn't let my dog eat it. The Mac n cheese only had cheese on top, the greens are GLORY greens, and the fish was so plain it didn't taste like fish!!!! Like wtf? Close this place down.

Horrible food and service, bought a fish dinner with potato salad and coleslaw, after a week the smell of bad fish is still in my car after using several deodorizers, needless to say that dinner went into the TRASH! PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE, particularly for health reasons
