As many have mentioned this restaurant has a strange location in a corporate complex that many people would drive by without noticing, despite the fact that they have colorful banners out front. The space is shared with what seems to be a Vietnamese milk tea shop. When we arrived on a Saturday morning, many of the items on the menu were unavailable, but what we did manage to order was delicious. *Curry goat: This is the bomb! The meat pieces are bone-in but tender so they fall off the bone easily. The curry flavor is not too strong, but just enough to complement the goat. *Jerk chicken: The jerk sauce tastes just right, strong with a slight sweetness. Texture of the chicken is great, quite tender just like the goat. *Rice and peas: I enjoyed this side, it was moist and flavorful. I love Jamaican food and this place hits the spot, I will be back! The lady working mentioned that the restaurant is having hard times and they're trying to stay afloat, so please come support.

I have a few dozen meals under the belt and a catering order, so I think I have a pretty strong command of the menu. They are in an odd location that really hurts them, next door to a tattoo parlor and a Tae Kwon Do place just out of the center of Fairfax.Don't let that stop you. They are consistently among the very best restaurants in Northern Virginia. I don't mean that with qualifiers. They are a bargain, but I would rather eat there than any other place in the immediate Fairfax area. The must haves are:Their wings are the best I have ever had. A fall-off-the-bone miracle that are just saturated with flavor. They are unfortunately often sold out, so consider getting them for lunch or calling ahead. The mac and cheese is fabulous. Creamy and cheesy, but with a nice baked layer on top.The ox tails are wonderful and if you haven't tried them - don't be scared. They are just packed with flavor and you can eat them kind of like wings, but with a central bone. If they have their yellow rice, or seasoned rice I prefer that over the rice and peas (beans) which I find to be a bit bland. They offer meat pies, which are delicious, but can take a few minutes to cook if you are doing walk in ordering. I haven't had a misfire there yet and they owners are a delight to talk to and well worth supporting.

Save Jas & Fam!Their location is kind of off the beaten path - looks like an area for office buildings so it's easy to miss. For this reason, they don't get much foot traffic, but their food is pretty good. I always get the ox-tails when I'm nearby. Not only that, this place is ran by a mother/daughter team Marie & Miss Jas; they are by far some of the most humble, kind-hearted people I've ever met. They deserve to stay open so if anyone is reading this... please go and support this small business.

They share with suite with boba Tomtom which is definitely a plus since my fam loves both, Jamaican food and bobs tea! I ordered the oxtail platter with cabbage and plantains and oxtail jerk chicken combo with cabbage and Mac n cheese. There was an upcharge of 2.50 for the Mac which I didn't mind until I actually saw it. It was very small scoop full, with no cheese presence and bland. That was disappointing for sure. The oxtail and the jerk chicken were good though. Cabbage was flavorful and coco bread was nice and soft!I would go back to try the curried goat (wasn't ready yet) for sure but would not get the mac again

My recent visit to this restaurant was a vibrant culinary journey with some of the best Jamaican dishes I have ever tried. I tried SO many things so please bear with me in this lengthy review! lolCurried Goat The curried goat was a standout. Tender chunks of goat simmered to perfection in a rich, flavorful curry sauce. The blend of spices had the right amount of heat and earthiness, and each bite was succulent. It paired perfectly with the rice and peas. This dish is a MUST TRY.Oxtails The oxtails were fall-off-the-bone tender, cooked in a deep, savory brown gravy that screamed comfort. It was full of flavor and very indulgent. The gravy seeped into the rice and peas, creating a delicious mix of textures and tastes. This dish is a MUST TRY Cabbage The sautéed cabbage was simple but effective. It has a slight crunch (which I loved) and it added a refreshing contrast to the heavier dishes. Coco Bread This was my first time having coco bread. It was soft, buttery, and slightly sweet. I tried with with the beef patty in between and it was lovely. Beef Patty Flaky on the outside and packed with spiced ground beef on the inside. The golden crust was well-baked, and the filling had the right balance of spice & savoriness.Jerk Chicken Wings The jerk chicken wings were smoky and are ADDICTIVE. The owner spoke about how she mixes the sauce daily and so it can be very complex depending on the style she is going for. These wings packed a punch that will leave you wanting more. Coconut Cookie To finish off the meal, I tried the coconut cookie. This treat was crumbly, sweet, and rich with coconut flavor. It was the perfect bite to round out the meal, offering a hint of tropical sweetness without being too heavy. Overall, I cannot wait to return to try more dishes! The owner was so kind to let us try some samples. I hope things improve for her business and she continues to thrive.

Jas & Fam has been on my list for some while now, and I had the opportunity to try out some of their food through the TooGoodToGo app. Pleased to say, I'll be coming back to try more food in the future! The Food: My order I picked up today was the "Jerk Chicken and rice". The Jerk chicken was cooked so nicely, nice amount of flavor and char, alongside with the yellow rice that was full of flavor. Portioned out very generously as well. The Service: Service was great! The family owned restaurant had amazing people who were so friendly and attentive. I came to pick up my order and they were very welcoming, and got my order out to me in a timely manner. The Atmosphere: Small little restaurant with little seating. They primarily cater, so I see people mostly ordering take-out orders. But, you can go up tot he front register and order anything you'd like.Overall, a 5/5. Delicious food, full of flavor and portioned generously. Service and staff were so friendly and welcoming. I had a great experience here and I'll be back in the future to try other dishes.

Enjoyed Jas & Fam to celebrate Juneteenth and support a local Black-owned business. It did not disappoint! The food was hot, fresh, and perfectly portioned (medium size). I got the jerk chicken and my husband got the curry chicken. His had a lot of small bones in it, but maybe that is normal for the stewed meat. We also natural bottled juices which were delicious. There are some seasonal items, so you may not be able to select from the full menu - but there was enough to choose from. Also, don't be alarmed when you enter - the business shares the location with a boba tea company. Pretty small inside, but there is outdoor seating as well.

I saw this place on Instagram and I had to give a try because I grow up eating Jamaican food but ever since I move to VA haven't found that great of Jamaican food.Location/Ambiance 4.5/5 - The location located near office building and you never expect it there but more of carry out style location with couples table seating to eat inside. Service was really friendly which was nice. Food 5/5 - Large Oxtail ($24.96) - Honestly this the highest I ever pay for an oxtail but also I can understand most likely given that is in Fairfax the rent must be high and now the cost of oxtail is expensive. At first glance, i am like i probably won't come here again because went I go Irie In Woodbridge they give me more oxtail and gravy. However once i took a bite of the OXtail Ohhh Baby it was so good. It wasn't over cook which I like to get some texture in it. The flavor of the rice and bean was amazing and I think they use jasmine rice compare to other rice most Jamaican restaurant used . It was so good, the cabbage was cook perfectly with crunch too it. I do which it come with a piece of plantain. Beef Patties ( $4.42)- So good in term of the flavor of the filling and nicely spice, however with this one I am not sure if i got bad one of the batch because the amount of beef filling in my patties it the same size ad 1 chic fila nugget. However I will get it again next time since it taste so good to see if it will have more filling. Jamaican soda was tad bit over price for $4 but not a big deal. I will definitely come back. I love supporting woman business and eating good food
