Came here twice, generally around lunch time. This place makes subs and also has a salad bar with salad of course and other proteins, but mainly it's Americanized Chinese food. The food is ok, and check out is fast. However I'll say that the price is kind of steep here. Get ready for a 17$ lunch. Other than the price I'd come back, if I was really craving Chinese fast food.

Not a bad place to come here for a quick lunch pick me up and if you don't know what you're in the mood for. It's buffet style of a lot of different foods and dishes as well as a salad bar - tons of different options. Convenient and fast.

I generally come for breakfast which is buffet style. Pretty decent selection, but a tad on the pricey side.Only one real issue - cashing out. The two cashiers barely speak English (or at least pretend to not speak it well enough to understand you) and the older one feels the need to involve himself in transactions that he's not a part of. I guess he's the manager and wants to make sure the other cashier has charged your correctly or something. So if customer service isn't important to you, then it's just an average buffet, at best.

I've only gotten the steak n cheese with hot peppers everytime I go but that's because it's one of the best I've eaten in DC for lunch but I've heard good things about their other lunch items

I would go here 3-4x per week because my office is across the street. Recently I've been going less because I've been trying to cut down on carbs and save money by bringing salad I would say this place is good if you are looking for an O-k lunch where you are not craving any one particular thing but appreciate being able to get a little bit of lots of different things and call it a day. Some people are open food bar people and others aren't. I definitely do appreciate one, including the Whole Foods one on p street although alert be cautious about seafood which sounds like common sense but...unrelated anywayI will go here because it's super close and convenient and I can get Asian food (not great but does the job), specifically white rice, bok choy, green beans the cabbage/carrot/broccoli mix. They also sometimes have Korean stuff like the japchae clear cold noodles and kimchi And then I can get like half an onion ring and lasagna on top of it Some people may think it's gross to put this all on one plate but I appreciate itAlso pro tip if you wait till like 2:45pm it's half price per pound so you can fill up the whole plate for like $6. Is it worth it? Maybe not. I would just as easily spend $16 on a salad at chop't and still be hungry after (jk probably wouldn't do that) Also they have brownies there that are probably terrible for you and like 90% canola oil but they are amazing! Diet starts tomorrow!

SCAM!!!!! I went in and ordered a BLT on a croissant and was charged $3.69 plus an additional $1 for my croissant where their sign says .40 for choice of bread. Please be forewarned these people are scamming you if you are not paying attention. I advised the cashier the sign needed to be changed and she became irate with me. Needless to say there are other places in the area to go for breakfast.... GO TO THEM which is what I will be doing.

Jack's Fresh is a pretty solid place to get a cheap breakfast sandwich. I recently got a ham, egg, and cheese croissant and it hit the spot - could've used salt in the eggs, and the sandwich is kind of flat, but otherwise the flavor was there, and it was still nice and hot when I got it to the office. The sandwich plus a bottle of orange juice was about $8, so I'd say the price was right. I don't eat breakfast out too often but would come here again.

I take it back. I've been back to Jack's Fresh too many times (usually once or twice a week) for this place to remain merely "A-OK." I no longer view Market to Market (see upcoming review) as being the most value-driven hot food and salad bar in the area since it raised its prices to $6.49/pound. And, although, Sizzlin' Express (see upcoming review) has a more expansive selection, its $6.89/pound can be cost-prohibitive. Why do I keep coming back? Reliability. When in doubt - especially when I'm lazy - I know that I can always get my favorite fixings at Jack's Fresh, which is conveniently located a block away from my office.4 Stars - In the context of salad bars, Jack's Fresh is worthy of your consideration. I've been to enough Hot Food & Salad Bars in the area to say that Jack's Fresh is the best bargain in the Farragut North office area. Its still not somewhere I'd take someone one on a first date or deal-breaker luncheon.

Jack's is a self-serve buffet place. It goes $7 per lb for lunch and $5.50 per lb for breakfast. For lunch, it does have pretty good selections, ranging from Americanized Asian food such as orange chicken, chicken teriyaki to jerk chicken, beef ribs and meatloaf. The food itself isn't good. A lot of them're very greasy and oily. Also, it is really hard to predict 1 lb worth of food because before you know it, you already got more than a lb. So, in the end of the day, I'd be paying 9 bucks worth of food & would be better off getting food in higher quality restaurants. The only good thing about Jack's is their salad bar; The rest, you should avoid.

This is the kind of place that should be out of business, for the crime of zero effort. The salad was awful , the olive oil bottle had water in it, even their french fries were somehow terrible. There are too many businesses like that in the city, selling disgusting coffee and bagel in the morning, and then offer a salad and sandwich bar that are based on mass produced pseudo bagged vegetables and canned legumes in the lowest quality you can imagine. By going as cheap as possible and aiming for the lowest quality they can, they maximize profit thanks to hasty Washingtonians that agree to these crimes, only because they are in a hurry to get to work. It's time to stop this and put these zero effort places out of business
