Izumi Japanese Restaurant

No notes! I was nearby and starving, so I checked to see what sushi options were nearby. It had been awhile since I had grabbed sushi while in AdMo, so I was surprised to see Izumi pop up just a 4 minute walk away.When I walked in, it as during an off-peak time so the restaurant only had a few other diners. I was seated immediately and my order was taken promptly after a quick review of the menu.My food came out so quickly - within just a few minutes actually for my first item (shrimp shumai.) The shumai portion was generous and my sushi roll (Sun Raise roll) came out soon thereafter and it was so fresh and delicious!As soon I finished up my food, a server returned to see if I wanted to order anything else. I was perfectly full so took the check, paid and was in and out in less than 30 minutes total.Overall, I had such a great experience here and will definitely return when I'm in the neighborhood!

When the original date night plan fell through, I was not about to let the night go to waste. So, we did a quick search, found something nearby (because circling the block for parking again was NOT happening), and landed on Izumi. And let me tell you, Izumi delivered.The moment we walked in, it was like a breath of fresh air. We were instantly greeted, seated, and handed menus. No waiting, no guessing--just pure efficiency. Once we regrouped from the chaos of the evening, we focused on the menu. Despite our earlier mishap, we were determined to have ramen, one way or another.When the server came back, I asked for her recommendation. She suggested the Tonkotsu Ramen with chicken, but when bae decided to order the same thing except the spicy one, I had to switch it up because variety is the spice of life. I went with the Spicy Miso Ramen with chicken.The ramen arrived quickly, with the chicken served on the side. Let me just say, the chicken portions were generous. It was karaage-style--breaded, oversized chicken bites that were delicious but definitely needed breaking down to fit into the ramen bowl. And speaking of spicy, that Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen must've had some serious heat because bae was sniffling and coughing with every slurp. (Pro tip: bring tissues.)Now, here's where my eyes got bigger than my stomach: I'd also ordered a Spicy Crunchy Shrimp Roll and a Sake Martini. The ramen alone was so filling that I barely had room for the sushi, but I pushed through--and I'm glad I did.The sushi? Absolute star of the night. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. It wasn't spicy at all, so they should probably just call it the Crunchy Shrimp Roll, but it was still a 10/10. The Sake Martini was chilled to perfection and very strong. Bae said it reminded him of Robitussin (sake really is an acquired taste), but I enjoyed it.Toward the end of the meal, the service slowed down a bit--I had to wave someone down for the check and a to-go box. But honestly? I didn't mind. Up until that point, the staff had been incredibly attentive. Everyone who walked by checked on us--it felt like a team effort to make sure we were taken care of, and I appreciated that.The total for everything came to $61.03, which felt like a steal for the quality and quantity of food. I'd absolutely return, especially for the sushi and the stellar customer service. Izumi turned a potentially disastrous date night into a win, and for that, they've earned a spot on my go-to list.Final thoughts: Skip the Robitussin jokes and go easy on the sake martinis, but do not skip the sushi. You'll thank me later.

I did a quick google search and this restaurant looked the most aesthetically, pleasing decor wise, and food wise. It's a small restaurant, but it does have a cute look to it. My server was a woman. I don't remember her name, but she was very sweet. I decided to get four different rolls, I got the Mango Salmon roll (6 rolls) and Yellowtail roll (4 rolls) off their lunch menu. The Mango salmon roll was juicy and with a hint of sweetness to it. The yellowtail roll wasn't too memorable. Next i ordered the Dancing Dragon roll and the Play boy roll. Now let me tell you......the Play Boy Roll was my favorite!! It was delicious, with a crunch on the inside, and the size of the roll was HUGE! The Dancing Dragon roll was good as well, it had a hint of mango inside of it.For being the only person there at the time, they did take a longer time making my rolls, especially with two cooks behind the sushi counter. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because everyone was on their phones, including the cooks. Also a man (I'm assuming the owner) sat down at the bar and got on a phone call, and was talking very loudly for a long period of time. As a paying customer, I don't want to see or hear that you are on your phone. Other than some minor things, pretty good sushi!

Amazing lunch spot- we each got three rolls with a salad and it was so fresh and delicious. The waiter was chill, friendly without being overbearing even though we definitely stayed longer than a normal table (it was an odd time so no need for our table) the vibe is definitely Japanese sushi bar nothing too crazy there. They had a fun menu- would definitely recommend.

I got Izumi delivered via Uber Eats for dinner this past Saturday. I had no idea there was an izakaya all the way in AdMo, but glad I was able to find it on the app.SUSHI SET DELUXE - 22.95+2 since it was ordered off of Uber Eats.This set comes with 10 nigiris and one spicy tuna inside out roll. The spicy tuna had a fat portion of minced and spiced tuna for the amount of rice they wrapped around. I didn't love the spicy tuna but I can see why it's popular. The 10 nigiri I got were 1 shrimp, 1 albacore (?), 2 yellowtails, 2 white tunas, 2 tunas, and 2 salmons. I don't really like white tuna or shrimp, but beggars can't be choosers when it comes to chef's choice. The albacore and tuna were pretty OK, but pretty forgettable. Salmon was pretty standard and the yellowtail was my favorite. The rice had a good amount of vinegar and had a good texture.Overall, not bad for the price. The food was packaged very well. I would have to check out Izumi in person to try the other izakaya options.

Great hid gem in admo with great food and friendly service.I ordered to go and got a spicy roll combo it's spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and a spicy California roll. Inside it has a modern look of a sushi bar and would a great place to go in AdmoAll three rolls were tasty and fresh. Tuna was nice and punchy with the spicy that was evened out by the cool tuna. Salmon was similar. The California roll was good but it has spicy mayo on top of just so you are aware. I know some people don't like mayo on sushi. I enjoyed it it added a creamy spicy note to it. All three had well cooked rice wrapped around it. Overall would go back

First thing I noticed, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Seriously. When we walked in, about five people came to greet us and asked where we wanted to sit. When we asked for outdoor seating, someone immediately stepped forward and sat us down at a table. The restaurant itself was very clean with plenty of table space both indoors and outdoors. Love the design and decoration in both indoor and outdoor areas.Food came out amazing! Very high quality sushi rolls. We ordered their Izumi Roll, Poke bowl (salmon and tuna), and vegetable tempura. The tempura was a variety of different vegetables which was perfect to try a little of everything, and was very yummy. The poke bowls and Izumi roll not only tasted very fresh, but looked beautiful. You can tell this restaurant takes great pride in the quality of their food. The price can be a little bit more than what you would expect depending on what you order, but you are definitely paying for quality food. If you are looking for a good quality sushi place, this is the place to go. They offer rolls, poke bowls, ramen, salads, soups and nigiri. Little bit of everything. Highly recommend.

We visited on a holiday, and it wasn't very busy, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. The Japanese music added a nice touch. We started with the Ebi and steak skewers, both were delicious. For mains, we each ordered teriyaki dishes. The salmon and chicken were perfectly seasoned, and the sliced veggies underneath were a wonderful surprise. The staff were attentive and welcoming, making it an enjoyable meal overall.

I saw Izumi and stopped by because I was hungry and they had good reviews. The staff were nice and attentive. Definitely recommend. Everything was fresh and came out quickly. I got miso soup, beef skewer and spicy yellow tail and tuna roll. I do wish the beef skewer had a bit more seasoning/ sauce on it but it was cooked well. The rolls were bigger than I expected I took the rest to go. If I'm in the area I'd return.
