The location is joint with two other businesses, in the corner. I overheard that it was recently renovated, but the interior still seemed a bit dirty and more like a chill sit-down area to have light food and/or boba/drinks. It is a comfort Japanese food place, and was average. However, the food came out very slowly (~30-40 minute wait) despite us being the only customers for the restaurant. There was no one at the front to take our order, and one of the boba shop workers said to order via the kiosk on the boba tea side. We ordered takoyaki, sukiyaki, croquettes (korokke), Pork bowl, and chicken katsu donburi. Everything was veryy sweet. The party agreed that it felt more like a dessert than dinner. The sukiyaki came out about 10 minutes later than everything else, and did overflow onto our table due to overboiling. The experience was good but very self-done.

Overall, 3.5/5, but bumping it to a 4/5 since it's a new restaurant and I am hopeful they will improve over time.Izaka Donburi is 1 of 3 restaurants within Corner Space Eden. It's kind of a mini cafeteria style/food hall that contains Vivi Bubble Tea and Com Tam Le Truc. My friend and I stopped by for lunch last Sunday after seeing the list of homey Japanese dishes like donburi, chawanmushi, sukiyaki pot (!!!), katsu curry, etc. The service was pretty good and our food came out pretty quickly.CHAWANMUSHI - 4.95Steamed egg custard + some enoki looking mushrooms (they're like the bigger version) in a 6 oz cup. A bit steep, but how soft and velvety the egg custard was changed my mind. It was like eating a cloud. And the dashi based broth and mushrooms to go along with it was chef's kiss. My friend and I both enjoyed this! I am curious how the other chawanmushi (specifcally ikura) would be.UNA-TAMAGO DON - 21.95This was given to us in a to-go container (with a plastic top layer for the eel and egg to separate from the rice). The presentation was extremely sloppy and unappetizing. Everything was soggy and messily put together, like it's been left forgotten for a couple hours after cooking. However, my friend and I are not one to not eat food based on the presentations. We dug in anyway, because unagi is delicious. The rice was well garnished with furikake. The unagi was plentiful and very tender. Our only issue was that the sweet and savory sauce was way too strong. Literally way too sweet and overpowering where it was unbearable after a few bites. We managed to finish all our rice and still had a bunch of sauce (mixed with some egg drop and onions). Overall, if the sauce wasn't that sweet, it would have been a delicious una-tamago don. This place has potential for homey Japanese food. I've been on the outlook for non-sushi Japanese entrees and glad to find a casual spot so close to where I live. I'll be back to try other foods here.

Had high hopes for Izaka, but it fell flat. Hidden deep inside Vivi Boba, it's like a secret you wish you didn't uncover. Attempted a Valentine's Day adventure, but the lack of signage and a confusing self-order kiosk made it feel more like a maze than a date night. The staff? Two men deep in conversation, oblivious to our existence and a female that didn't want to be there. Found the elusive sukiyaki buried in the menu-$22.50 for a single serving felt like a love scam. Portion sizes were on a diet. Finally, the food arrives in a traditional hot pot style, but the drama unfolds. No tongs, just chopsticks and flimsy plastic ware. Asked for help, but the young woman vanished into thin air. Strike one.Eager to devour our feast, we resorted to using inadequate plastic to scoop raw delights into the pot. The noodles? A Gordian knot challenge, refusing to untie. Meanwhile, the staff continued their nonchalant chatter. Strike Two. Witnessed more bewildered sukiyaki-craving souls enter that mirrored our initial confusion. Several people left after not being helped. One couple looking for sukiyaki, just like us, encountered the same disinterested staff. My husband, the unsung hero, guided them through the menu labyrinth since the staff didn't care. As if the hot pot fiasco wasn't enough, the restroom sealed the deal--no soap. Strike Three. I got the young man's attention to report the soap situation. At this point, the desire for boba evaporated; they won't see another dime.In a nutshell, Izaka won't be my hot pot haven. If I'm splurging nearly $25 on a hot pot, I'll choose a place where the service doesn't play hide and seek. Goodbye, Izaka, you won't be missed.

Probably one of the worst bento boxes I've ever had.Ordered the shrimp bento, and it was pitiful to look I. I felt sorry that the shrimp had to die only to be put into this train wreck of a bento box.Was edible, but prob a 4/10
