Of course, being Ivy, it's packed on weekends. But when it's not, it's chill af. Cheap beer, and whiskey (albiet both the Catholic and Protestant stuff ).Here's the thing though, legit Chicago dogs, and absolutely amazing pizza. It's not deep dish deep dish, but that's a good thing cause deep dish sucks. It's maybe some of the best pizza in dc.

What used to be a staple, Ivy & Coney unfortunately is what America is becoming when Drump came for his 2nd administration (not great). While I did decide to come the night of the USA v Canada hockey game and the bar was busy, I did not expect what would happen next. Part of my group had already gone in and when I and 3 others arrived, the bouncer said they were at full capacity so we kindly waited in front of the door, in the bouncer's line of vision. We saw 2 individuals pass us and walk in and we expected they'd be sent out because they were 'at full capacity' except she checked their ID and let them up. Odd, we thought. We then saw a group of 4 leave and we thought great, let's go in. She denied us and said she can only let 3 of us in (there were 4 of us waiting). She said it's our fault for letting the 2 guys in ahead of us. We were pretty flabbergasted at her stupidity and stubbornness. Ivy and Coney used to be a great spot but I'll gladly spend my money on the number of other bars nearby. I'd give it 1 star for the experience but bumping it to 2 for all the great memories of the past.

We stopped by Ivy & Coney for a Hanukkah pop up event. I'll admit that I was a bit confused, but I guess it was a Hanukkah and SEC Championship popup event. .Overall, I enjoyed myself at this delightful dive bar. The space is a bit small, but there are two separate bars inside. One cool thing: you don't have to open two separate tabs because one tab works for both bars. Actually, I'm not sure if the bar typically is super packed on Saturdays or if this was due to college football. The Black female bartender with locks was absolutely amazing. While they have a nice selection of canned beers, I only saw two draft beers in the front bar. I probably wouldn't travel very far to visit, but it's a great spot to folks in the neighborhood to have an easy breezy beverage or four

Doesn't really get much better than Ivy and Coney for your classic dive bar choice. The staff is always friendly, same with the customers. I started coming here fairly regularly during the World Cup, and the vibes are always good. The food while maybe not being the biggest draw for people, I think is actually really good. I always get their cheese curds, but have tried everything else at least once and you won't be disappointed by anything... assuming you wanted a burger or pizza type food

Just had a single smash burger and curly fries at Ivy & Coney. They were delicious!! The burger was really nicely seasoned, grilled to perfection and put together with yummy toppings and a tasty bun! The curly fries were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! The place is a dive bar with a great atmosphere and folks! Don't bring high expectations for anything but the food and fun! Oh and very friendly service!

One of my favorite easy going bars in D.C. Friendly bartenders and no-nonsense sports bar scene. My friends like the Chicago style dogs here. I'm more of a pizza gal. Their Detroit style pizza is great too and even better when they have it on special on Mondays. Grab a beer or mixed drink and chill out with some friends or by yourself while watching some sports (or not!).

I walked by the door a couple times trying to find Ivy and Coney, I had not been since before the pandemic. Attended networking event on a Thursday, good space inside and upstairs (heaters on the rooftop). Friendly staff and good beer options - if you are in the mood for a pilsner, I recommend Three Floyds Speed Castle. My colleagues enjoyed the food but I didn't try anything.

Pros:- Food that's hard to find outside of their originating cities like the titular coney dog and Detroit-style pizza- Fun dive vibe- Indoor and semi-outdoor section with a linked bar tab between the two- CheapCons:- It's VERY easy to miss the front door. I almost walked right past it. You've really gotta be looking for it. There is a small sign that says "Yes, this is Ivy & Coney" to let you know you've found it- Limited drink options- Small space, I was there on a Friday night and it got crowded quickly. Every seat was taken by 7pmOverall, I'd say it's worth going if you want hotdogs and pizza like you can find in Chicago or Detroit, OR you're looking for intimate dive vibes.

The owner is a tyrant, and the food is objectively bad. We went to watch Commanders v. Lions game. This is a Lions bar. The Lions were losing and the owner just decided he no longer wanted Commanders fans in the bar and kicked us out. Totally obnoxious. Also we were served a cold hot dog. If they can't cook a hot dog, then I have little confidence that they can cook anything else on the menu. I will not be returning.

One of the coolest sports bars I've been to in DC. The decorations are really cool and they play audio from the game on the main tv screen which is always appreciated. The hot dogs and fries were delicious. Friendly servers and bartenders as well. Good vibes all in all.
