Honestly, I'm quite surprised by all the five star reviews of this place.I had high expectations coming here, but honestly, the food is just not that good. I don't think the ingredients are particularly high-quality or fresh. Would not come back. Food is 2 stars. As a sign, none of the staff (including the owner) appear to be Japanese. Same for the clientele.The location is hard to miss. It's next to the lobby of an apartment building. Prices are reasonable for Japanese food. Service was friendly and communicative.

Always great service and good food. Bonus points for being shellfish allergy friendly! I usually carryout but sitting in the restaurant is cozy and welcoming. I recommend the fried Philadelphia or salmon lovers roll!

It's been a mainstay of the area for so long for a reason. The rolls are reliably good - not spectacular, but pretty good - and the service is friendly. The space is a little small but feels cozy and it's centrally located. If you're there in person, and like rolls, try out the monument roll. It's different. We used to go there all the time when we lived next door, and I recently tried them again and the quality is still reliable.

Certain not sushi worth writing home about but a convenient location with good service and reasonable options. Best thing on the menu is the Monument. I can't recommend the dumplings and the edamame is basically steamed with no salt. The service is always super friendly and it's such a convenient location to all the apartment buildings and the NOAA building near by.Again, It's not worth making a trip to try but a good option for stopping on your way home. It might as well be a takeout spot for me.

I live across the street from Ikko Sushi, which is located in the Bennington apartment building. I decided to try it out. There is a small dining area inside and plenty of outdoor seating. It had steady customers each of the three times I came in. I ordered takeout directly at the counter inside. The service is GREAT and the real reason for my review. Across my three visits, I ordered sashimi, beef udon, shrimp shumai, shoyu ramen, and yakisoba. They also have about twelve alcohol (sake) options to-go and I ordered two different kinds across my three visits. The sake is good. The food just isn't anything to write home about. Everything had a similar flavor across dishes and wasn't all that flavorful. It tasted bland. That being said, the sashimi was fresh and they had a nice variety and big pieces. I think that's where they might shine. I will try the sushi again, but won't order anything off the rest of the menu. I will probably stop in for some sake from time to time.

Wish I knew about this place sooner! It's tucked under an apartment building so it's easy to miss. It's a small establishment and pretty clean. They have awkward opening and closing times. So before going just make sure they are open.The hostess was very warm and attentive. Their sushi was SO good! There is so much more I have to explore on their menu but their Spider Roll and Firecracker Roll were perfect. No complaints at all. I love a good Spider Roll and this was the best I've had so far. The sushi chef's definitely seemed to know what they were doing! They also wore gloves when making the sushi as well, which is definitely a plus.This is officially my favorite local sushi spot.

I went to Ikko sushi for a work lunch last week. The environment and decor were quiet and nice. The service was prompt and not overbearing. I ordered a salmon roll, a shrimp tempura roll, and a miso soup. The salmon was fresh, the tempura roll was good, and the miso was tasty and authentic. There are great lunch combo deals as well. I recommend this place for lunch!
