Hunan West

The service was amazing! We got hot and sour soup, wonton soup (Hong Kong style), sweet and sour chicken, and half Peking duck. The sweet and sour chicken batter on the chicken is amazing, but I wish they served the sauce on the side bc it got soggy quickly. The Peking duck was money! Pretty good for a decent price!

For the price I do like it. There's no denying it's a good value. Family owned and operated, very kind employees. Have always enjoyed service whether dining here, carry out, or delivery. Seating and the dining area are clean. This is good for a date, due to it being relatively quiet. Inflation has hit us all. To their credit they've kept prices within reason. As for the quality it's decent. Here is where to get a traditional meal, like chicken/beef with rice and broccoli. These simple dishes work. To my taste buds it's average, but I do recommend it.

Going to Hunan West is usually a stop during any time im visiting my parents. The food is always good and the service is friendly and fast. I have been eating here since I was 3 so it's seriously like coming home! Today's meal and visit consisted of mostly appetizers and just one main dish as we had eaten a larger meal earlier in the day. We shared the following dishes: Egg Rolls Vietnamese Summer roll Pan Fried Dumplings Crab Rangoon Egg Drop Soup General Tao's Chicken Everything was delicious and the general's chicken was delicious-it is seriously the best I have had anywhere. It's a mix of booths and tables and have even some larger round tables with a swivel to make passing dishes around easier. The owner recently passed the restaurant to his niece and she is doing a great job of keeping everything great!

The worst ever. I will never order their food ever again and definitely do not recommend this place to anyone ever. Everything I ordered was disgusting, thought at least one thing I ordered would be ok, but man I don't understand. Had hair in my veggies lo mien as well so I was just completely over it. I'm sure if I put my grandson to the test of cooking, he can cook better than this. The oil definitely is old, even my string beans was horrible and burnt. Make that make sense.

Hollllly Motherf***in' SHIZ...Was in town visiting family and they're all like: "ohhh, we have to go to 'Hunan West' at some point for dinner." I'm like "what is it?" And one cousin is like "the best Chinese food ever." I'm like "including in CHINA?!?" "I've never BEEN to China...""Well then shush!"I'm being facetious and also meandering: food is great, service is fast. I'm from the East Coast but have been on the West Coast for a few decades...in regards to Chinese food, they're missing a few things in Cali that the East Coast does well and Hunan West does SPECTACULARLY:1) The "your sinuses are clear now" spicy mustard2) Duck sauce3) General Tso's ChickenMy GOD, the General Tso's Chicken was AMAZING. I couldn't finish it all at the table, so I had to take the rest of the order to go. I ate it the morning after Christmas for breakfast and it was STILL so, so good. Highly, HIGHLY recommend. I will shed a tear that I'm not there with you enjoying it as well!

Under new management and the food tasted amazing! The portion was generous compared to the previous owner. They served our food in these gorgeous bowls that were filled to the top. My friend asked to have a custom dish made and they happily obliged. The new management came by to check on us and to see if everything was good. We stayed until they closed. The place is clean and their restrooms are clean. Hope they do well.

I don't get the poor reviews some people have left. We have only had good experiences with Hunan West. Our go-tos are typically include hot and sour soup, chicken corn soup, steamed dumplings, General Tsos chicken, chicken lo mein, chicken fried rice, and more. The quality of the chicken dishes has always been good. It's like real meat compared to some of the others that taste like rubber and mystery meat. This is our family favorite in the area.

The hot and sour soup was excellent. The moo goo chicken was good. The rice was dry. The worst was the 3 oz glass of plum wine for $9.00. Wtf. Outrageous. Might go back for the food, but not the wine ! Service was excellent.

I usually do takeout here. The staff is always friendly and the food comes out hot and quickly. The crispy eggplant is amazing!

The quality of the food over the past 5 years has gotten so bad I'm ashamed to say I was just buying out of laziness. Once a 50/50 (take your chance) to a place I'll never order from again. One of my favorites (Crispy Orange Beef) now contains meat thats been soaked in tenderizer. It's disgusting compared to what it once was. Quality Down and prices WAY UP. Watch out for the previously frozen appetizers.Last nights dinner was it. Not that this is a place to get Peking Duck but I had anyhow knowing it would be mediocre but I wanted some.. What a mistake. It was just a just a greasy piece of fried Duck.. Tasteless.. The pancakes that came with it were the size of burrito tortillas, thick and not the proper 5" or so thin pancakes I've been up all night sick with abdominal pains....NEVER AGAIN.
