Very cute cafe! The theme-ing was nice and made it feel very spacious. The drinks were really yummy! We got an Ube latte and an Iced Turon latte :) We didn't try any pastries but we'll definitely have to if we're in the area again!

I stopped by in the morning to grab coffee and breakfast so this will be a takeout only review. While I did not dine there, I did enjoy the ambiance of the cafe, with warm lighting and some greenery by the entrance. Seems to be plenty of seating as well.I got an iced Ube Latte which was good, ube flavor was aromatic and not too sweet. The Brisket, egg, and cheese was a good sandwich choice for breakfast. The brisket was overflowing out of the bun and the gruyere cheese gave it a lot do flavor. The brisket could be a bit more tender but it's still good.I would come back again to try their Filipino rice bowls!

I came back with more hopes that it would be a better experience this time, and it definitely was! Came during a Sunday brunch, and wasn't too busy! It is counter service during the day, but service was still well done. The Brunchin' combo deal is very worth $25 for a savory plate, non alcoholic drink, and a chef's choice of pastry.I really enjoyed by Ube Horchata!! Amazing flavor and creaminess. I also loved the Loco Moco, Chicken & Biscuits, and Wild Mushroom (cripsy enoki served with hierloom garlic fried rice, egg, and atsara (pickles)). All so delicious and filling! I was intrigued by the Spam Cinnamon Bun, but it was a miss. The salty spam did not pair well with the sweet pastry. The prices can definitely add up here so be careful!

Just stopped in for lattes. The pandan is nice and subtle but you can tell it's not plain coffee. The makulay is sweet and delicious.

What a unique spot! We came by for their happy hour special to grab a quick bite. The staff were so nice since we ordered multiple rounds of drinks/food bc we were more snacking than we thought. At the end, they were having a deal to sell their pastries for the day so we bought a couple of desserts. All were very yummy and I would be happy to try out their brunch if we were here for longer. They also were so sweet on giving us a bunch of leftover pastries that they had for the day. I don't remember the specific names of our drinks but they were all very good and had unique flavors that are Filipino inspired. The lumpia were hot out the frier and was cleared instantly.

I recently visited Hiraya, and while the experience was pleasant, it left a bit to be desired. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a warm, rustic charm that really brings a sense of home. The menu features a wide array of traditional Filipino dishes, which immediately got me excited to try some classic comfort food.We came here for brunch so we ordered breakfast staples: Tosilog and Longsilog. As much as I wanted to love these dishes, it didn't hit the spot as much as I had hoped. While I understand that our cuisine often uses oil or fat to enhance flavors, the rice here felt overly heavy and greasy, almost as if it had been drenched in oil rather than lightly seasoned. The texture was soggy, and it lacked the usual fluffy, fragrant quality that you'd expect from a well-prepared batch of rice. It was definitely filling, but it didn't pair well with my already-greasy longaniza and tocino. If the kitchen could find a way to make the rice lighter to balance out the dishes, it would really elevate the whole meal.In terms of service, the staff are pleasant and welcoming. Note that service is fast but it can be a bit confusing if you're visiting for the first time. When you walk in, you'll see a counter where you place your order for take out, as well as desserts and drinks if you're dining in. But for food, you can place your order with the server waiting on your table.Overall, the food was good and it's awesome to see Filipino eateries thrive in the local area! Hiraya is worth a visit if you're nearby and craving Filipino food or desserts.

Stopped here on Sunday before they closed and had a great experience! I loved the use of colour in their food! And the flavors were well executed. It was my first time trying Philippine food and now I'm a fan! The crispy belly was a little too crispy/chewy but very delicious. Honestly the rice was the star! Very soft and chewy and the ube horchata was some of the best horchata I've had! Service is fast since you order and pay first and they deliver to the table quickly. And I loved the homey/ tropical but modern cafe feel. There's enough seating to walk in with a party of 4 depending no on how busy it is. My only recommendation is the plating makes it a little more difficult to eat/ use a knife as the plates are not flat but upturned at the edges like an extra large bowl.

We wanted to try a Filipino Asian fusion restaurant, since we don't have it in Texas and this place was great!! We found a table then went to the front to order our food and drinks. We got the longanisa and tapa breakfast, and an ensaymada since I've never had it with truffle before. It felt like I was at home, since the place smelled of fried garlic rice while they were cooking our food. The breakfast was really yummy and my fave was the longanisa. The tapa was different than what I've had before, but wasn't bad. The ensaymada just tasted like bread with butter and cheese. Not much on the truffle side, but still good. Overall it was a fun and delicious experience eating the food of my people with a twist. Definitely a place to check out if you're live in the area or are visiting.

The pandan latte was fantastic, I will come back for that for sure! Definitely one of my favorite lattes I've had in DC (good coffee is difficult to find in DC, so this means a lot). The rice bowl was alright, I think a bit over priced because I couldn't taste the mushrooms very much. Them being fried made the dish a bit too dry for me. Rice was perfectly cooked though. As for the atmosphere, very beautiful and I liked the layout. Music was too loud for my liking though so I'd keep that in mind if you are dining with people.

The menu here is pretty small, which I wouldn't mind, except that I didn't love any of the dishes I tried. It was all just pretty bland. The Lumpia were only $0.50 but were mostly just crispy spring roll wrapper, so probably worth about $0.50. The Mushroom Sisig was a skillet of mushrooms with little seasoning and a lot of oil. The crispy mushroom rice bowl was primarily rice with super fried mushroom on top that, like the lumpia tasted mostly of fried coating. The Calamansi cocktail was my favorite part! I don't like sweet cocktails but this tasted very fresh and tart. Lots of flavor there that was missing from the rest of the meal.
