Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken - Rockville

I got the original chicken sandwich medium (I like spicy foods and this was very hot lol). Next time I'd back down one notch. Fries were pretty good, service was friendly. One thing though is I wish the slaw for the sandwich was a bit sweeter to cut the heat of the chicken a bit. The included slaw was spicy on its own offering no reprieve from the heat. This coming from someone who typically loves spicy heat.

Hangry Joe's is another fried chicken joint. Mostly chicken fingers but you can also get a "sando" or sandwich (I learn new lingo everyday). Basically fingers and fries. These are different fingers though -- the breading I believe has a sort of Korean-ish taste to it, with varying degrees of heat from none to volcano. Not my favorite but I won't downgrade a rating just because I personally don't like the flavors. It is good. My buddy loves it.One huge plus -- these are all cooked to-order so it was amazingly fresh --- and HOT. We actually had to sit back and stare at our food for a couple of minute before we could eat to let it cool down a bit.We ordered at a small kiosk and in a few minutes the waitstaff brought our food.This place is great if you like chicken fingers with a different flair. I don't know if I'll go again, but I know my buddy will.

I thought I left a review for this place several months ago but it turns out I didn't, so sorry no pics for this review. The first time I ate here I had the chicken sando combo (medium heat) but I don't like pickles or coleslaw, so that made it just a tad too spicy for me and I usually can handle some heat. It still was a flavorful sandwich.Today I came here for lunch and had the same combo, this time I got mild heat, with sauce, no pickle or coleslaw again. This amount of heat was perfect for me. Btw, the fries are great, especially with the provided sauce. The staff was helpful, when we were looking for suggestions. They brought the food over to our table quickly and the staff was friendly too! Would go back for sure.

I came to the Rockville location. First thing that stood out was customer service. There was an employee stocking supplies and didn't say anything to me. I said hello to her and she responded but didn't take my order so I went to the kiosk machine to place it.I ordered the chicken combo. I got mild this time because last time I ordered spicy, I didn't like it. To me the chicken didn't go well with the spicy flavor. I really enjoyed the mild sauce this time. My food was served hot and it was well cooked. It was very delicious, the coleslaw had just the right amount of mayo, not too much. Pickles were thick and juicy. Owner arrived at the store and the employee started greeted customers and taking their orders at the register.Lots of available parking available in front of the location. This site is clean and spacious for big parties or small. Food was great, customer service was ok.

We got the tenders and sandwich combo, both were really good! I recommend you don't overestimate your spice tolerance because mine is pretty good, but it was super hard to finish the medium spicy level.

First time trying Hangry Joe's. Ordered combo 1, hot level spicy ($14.95) with fried okra. It took about 10-15 minutes for the order, since they make it to order.My sandwich arrived hot and weighed about a pound. It was huge! The chicken was falling out both sides of the bun. It came with coleslaw and pickles in it. My favorite thing about the combo was the sandwich. The coleslaw was good and the pickles crunchy. Chicken was tender and juicy. The hot level of spicy was a little spicy, so I'll get mild next time. The ventilation here isn't so great. I wish it didn't smell so much and wasn't stuffy. There were also some chairs that still contained the stickers on the backs.The shakes/smoothies also looked good, but I'll try that next visit.

Yes, this is a fast food type of place. Besides the counter, there are 2 ordering free-standing kiosks which makes ordering food very easy. The portion sizes of chicken were huge, we were quite stuffed with what we ordered. Flavors are good, the spicy had a good kick

If you don't have anything else make sure you try the fried okra , it's on some certified down south vibe. Spiced and fried just right into a crispy veggie treat

It is a sweet, tangy hot sauce. They have multiple levels of heat on the menu. However, it seems the heat is determined by the amount of sauce they use and not different sauces with different heat levels. Aside from a sweet tangy heat, I did not sense any unique flavor. In any case, it was an ok spicy sandwich, about McDonald's level of quality.
