Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken - Pentagon Row

I kept seeing Hangry Joes and I was very excited to check it out. Seemed to be a nice local restaurant and it was visually appealing from the outside. The artwork on the walls and just the overall vibes really caught my attention. Ordering was super quick and easy, as there is an automated computer you can order and pay right at the counter, so i really appreciated that.My food didn't take very long to prepare which I will also give points for, but when I finally got to eating everything that is where the disappointment set in. I order 12 wings half Spicy Soy Garlic and Lemon Pepper. The wings were a very impressive size, larger than average and had a decently crispy skin but were boarder line on the dryer side. Still not a complete deal breaker, but what was, is the quality of the sauce it was tossed in. The Spicy Soy Garlic was neither spicy or tasted like soy garlic. I honestly had a hard time determining which ones were the soy garlic and which ones were the lemon pepper. And you are probably wondering "How"? Well the Lemon Pepper wings weren't a dry rub they were very much a wet wing and the flavors were too similar to tell the difference. The one I enjoyed the most I assume were the Lemon Pepper wings, but that is still TBD.Not the worst experience, but if all you are looking for is to satisfy a wing craving you may have. Hangry Joes will definitely do the job, but don't come here looking for anything above average.

Overall not bad. To get there, you'll have to park a few minutes away but terribly bad. Service is order at the counter or via kiosk like many fast food restaurants. Inside was clean, although not a lot of places to sit. Food was good with a pleasant attitude from the guy who brought the food. I had the Korean chicken nuggets. My wife a chicken sando. And son loaded fries. Portions are healthy so you'll leave full.

Stopped in here for the first time tonight and will say will definitely be coming back. I feel in this area there aren't that many interesting options for food which is a bummer, but now I have Hangry Joe's as an option. I'll assume the negative reviews are maybe opening kinks that they have since worked out. The staff were super friendly and helpful even with the kiosk ordering setup. Food was generous portions and very good. I got the salad with medium heat level chicken. Boy was I surprised by the amount of chicken in the salad! Way better than any portion size you get at a sit down restaurant, for sure. The heat level was fine... they seem to give a lot of warning about heat, and to be fair I have a very high heat level tolerance, so found it to be less than medium. My dining partner ordered the sandwich with high heat and honestly with everything they say including a waiver you have to acknowledge ordering high heat, I thought it would be much hotter haha. Will certainly be back to try more, but don't think you can go wrong here. The place is smallish but is clean and has a nice mural wall. My only thing I wish they would add is boba tea but that is just pure wish list item .All together we had the sandwich ... which was huge no skipping on chicken there. Fries, nice and crispy , fried okra ... hard to find in these parts and worth it. Fried chicken salad well worth the 11.95 with coleslaw and darn near a full chicken breast topper, I think. Sauces were also awesome. No need for ketchup or the like.

Upon entering. You're greeted. This location sometimes runs the AC so good ventilation is a hit or miss here depending on the day. There's sanitizer available at the counter which is a plus.The employees are very friendly & professional. Been here twice and both times the employees were always smiling & seemed happy. Which is a major plus. The food pricing here is a tad bit high for what you get however.There is metered street parking available as well as a parking garage down the street too.The MAJOR DOWNFALL with this location is the PORTION SIZES which when compared to other locations are almost a COMPLETE RIP-OFF. For almost $16 food & fountain soda. You do not get your monies worth here. Also even with the fry portion sizes. It's a rip-off. Both times I've been here. The first time. The chicken sandwich which by itself is around $10. The portion size of it made it nowhere near worth the high price tag. The 2nd time I came here. I got the "Loaded Fries" which usually with other locations it's a mountain of food and you walkout full. But upon receiving the order here. I could easily tell it was a total waste of money due to the very small portions of actual chicken and even the fries. Most of the chicken was even cut into very small pieces to make it seem like a lot visually. But it definitely wasn't.The overall environment is clean. Humid somewhat due to the lack of running the AC even on hot days. The pricing is on par with the other hangry locations. But with the VERY SMALL PORTION SIZES here. You'll most likely leave feeling ripped-off.The general crowd here is mainly adults. Sometimes kids. Very mature however. The overall noise level is usually quiet. Both times I've been here. The place was somewhat empty which is usually a red flag especially during lunch hours.Overall. NEVER AGAIN at this location. The best part about Hangry's is the massive amount of food you get for the price. But here. It's a MAJOR RIP-OFF due to the very small portion sizes for the high price tag.

Chicken is delicious here. The menu is simple, but that works for this spot. Only issue I have is that sometimes it can take a bit for the food to come out, but it's never a disappointment when it does. Caution that at the time of this review, this establishment closes on Sundays.

Went here a while ago and got the chicken tenders and chicken sandwich. Service was fast and friendly. Mild was perfect for me and my boyfriend got hot, which he appreciated that it was actually spicy. Sandwich had a good amount of crunch and waffle fries were delicious. The sauce that came with it was okay, but ranch may have been the better option. Overall, will definitely return.

I tried Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken for the first time yesterday. I happened to stop in the shop on Pentagon Row, which recently opened. I had a great experience! This location is nice and clean, and turnaround time for my order was super fast. I tried the mild, seasoned wings and waffle fries with a fountain soda. Everything was delicious and hit the spot. I'll definitely be stopping in again when I'm in the neighborhood.

Spicy for sure. Go low if you don't like hot. Seems even spicier with the wings. Sandwich was great!

We've gotten the mega sando in hot, the messy sando, and the chicken wrap. Everything is always good and made to order. Nice clean place to stop in for a bite with a few friends or family.

Chicken fingers were great! I ordered medium spice...seemed more like 'hot'. Otherwise, delicious!!
