Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken - Duke St.

DO NOT order the Angry Hot Spicy Level if you don't want to be in pain the next morning... The medium is already plenty hot and still flavorful! You might be in pain the next morning... it's great! lol I ordered both a medium and Angry Hot to test both out... medium was very flavorful and the bun had a nice taste to it. I then switched to Angry Hot and def needed a glass of milk a few seconds after the first bite. Only reason for the one star loss is I had to wait about 45 mins for my order. It may be because it was in the evening during peak dinner time.

solid chicken sandwich, there are others I prefer around DC but this was worth a stop in. Ordered the original one (which is a larger chicken breast vs strips), medium. Spice level is good, you can feel it but it's not too hot. slaw adds texture but no flavor. Pickles add texture flavor and some cooling. Bun is just there to hold it all together and is forgettable. Flavor is good, there is little texture on the fry, the size is big, the meat is juicy inside and not dry for a breast. Overall good. Ordered a side of mac and cheese which was not good, soggy noodles and a very average cheese sauce. Ordered to go but they were super friendly in there

Took 3 hungry boys here and we were not disappointed! The niche is chicken and they do it well. The kids meals are massive! The kids got chicken sandwiches and tenders and fries. I got a chicken salad with spicy chicken - the disclaimer was funny, it's not THAT spicy, but you have to agree not to sue them before you can have it lol! Overall the shopping center is tight because there is plenty of parking, the restaurant is clean, well managed, the customer service is good: they have kiosks to order but the lady there took our orders personally and helped me bring the food out to the tables. I believe this is the southern style chicken introduced to a Korea by US service members bc of the fried okra. Baby I felt my hypertension activate. It's good food but not everyday food. An experience.

I wish I could leave a better review - but I was pretty disappointed after trying a few items. My partner and I got the chicken sandwich (mild), 12 piece wings (Smoky bbq and lemon pepper), Cole slaw, and Mac n cheese. The good - the store was pretty clean and customer service was friendly. The sides: the coleslaw was too sweet and watery - needed way more acidity. The Mac and cheese was SO BLAND - no salt, no flavor, and was lukewarm. The chicken sandwich was probably the best out of what we ordered and even that was just mediocre at best. The sandwich used the same coleslaw - but at least the chicken was juicy and seasoned. The chicken wings - I ordered smoky bbq and lemon pepper. The lemon pepper was more citrusy than pepper - not my cup of tea. The smoky bbq was better between the two, but still just kind of meh. The hangry sauce also was just ok - it was like a yogurt sauce or something. Overall, I'm not sure I'd come back again.

My first visit to here was a few months after they opened, and since then every order we had has been on point. We have a franchise in Waldorf but it does NOT measure up to this particular location.My kids always get the Korean Soy Garlic Chicken and rice and it's always fresh, hot and tasty!Space is a bit small, but we always get our order to go, so I can't say how "crowded" it gets.Service has always been pleasant and I appreciate that.

Went there for lunch on a Wednesday. Got to the spot around 11:30a. There were a few customers there before me. I wall up to the counter and order my chicken sandwich hot. It comes with waffle fries and a fountain drink. It took about 20 minutes to complete my order. But while I was waiting I saw how small the side order of sauce was so I ordered 2 more to make sure I had enough. When I got my order I checked the fries and they were barely warm. He did offer to get some hotter ones for me, but I said I would heat them up at home. I've been to the Fairfax location before so I know how spicy it is. The sandwich is huge and the slaw and pickles compliment the sandwich perfectly. It fills you up and is an overall value and worth it. The spice was perfect at hot and you need to fill out a waiver for the super hot version. If I'm craving a chicken sandwich again I'm sure I'd check it out again.

We were in the neighborhood and needed a quick bite to eat. We decided to try hangry joes. On Sunday at noon it wasn't very busy so we were able to place our order and grab a window seat and people watch the strip mall while we waited for our food to arrive. We both ordered the Sando Combo medium one with fries, the other with okra. Our food was served to us at our table in about 10 minutes. We were so surprised the portions were huge. The sandwiches came dressed in slaw and came with a side dipping sauce. We both thought the sandwiches were great, more spicy than flavorful. My partner said the okra was delicious and was very happy with his choice. Overall this restaurant is clean, fast and really clean. We will come back if we are looking for something quick.

You will definitely come out full especially with those chicken sandwiches. Definitely a late night go to when I'm at work if I really had to. But that's why I bring lunch lol

Great little place to grab some grub here in Alexandria. A lot of these hot chicken places are popping up everywhere!I grabbed a spicy chicken sammie wrap with fries. Fairly small eating area inside so I don't suggest more than two people if you are dining in. Service was fast and they do have a self serve computer as well.The wrap was delicious, along with the waffle fries. Kinda wished I had gone full hot, though. The side dipping sauce for the fries was meh.Overall, great spot for a lunch! Recommend!

Great place, went here at 12am and it was amazing so I can't imagine what it's like in the prime hours. They don't slack on quantities too, tons of French fries and the chicken tenders are massive. Make sure you're hungry cause you might not finish it all!
