Loved the vibe of the place. The kiosk was very useful in ordering bmy food, and the chicken was delicious. The waffle fries were a hit.

Wow I guess the intense diet can take a break. There's something so delicious about Tennessee and South Korean food combined. Absolutely love this place. They have a variety of chicken types, but I love the Scoville hot sandwiches. Even the roll bread is outstanding. That attention to detail is hard to beat. You'll love their fries too. My favorite lunch spot in Annandale now.The computer system takes, a little bit of adjustment time. Yet for the most part it is intuitive. All of the employees are fantastic. They are positive and polite. High marks for cleanliness. Parking can be a little tight, but this is located in a busy strip mall. Completely worth it.

This was my wife's and I first time trying Hangry Joes! This is also a brand new location in Alexandria / Annandale area off of Little River Turnpike and we have to say first impressions WE LOVED THE INSIDE of the restaurant it new, it live, it's interesting and even put some of our favorite DC skyline in there too! This is a new building in the area and it was easy to get to and into the parking lot too! Getting your order in is easy as the have two digital kiosk's to place your order with an easy to navigate digital menu, they accept all forms of payment from Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, CC and debit cards. We were able to navigate the while menu and place our order in about 5-6 minutes since it was our first time we think that was great! Now the food first impressions IT SMELLS AMAZING! Like fresh fried chicken and the spices are WOW top it off with a lot of flavor. My wife and I got the 24 piece with in mild and lemon pepper, funnel fries, fries and fried okra! This was a great combination of flavors and WOW the mild has a lot of zing to it! Nice and spicy and IT CAN GET HOTTER they have a lot of levels of spice to offer from ghost pepper, habanero, hot and even down to just a bell pepper level hot. It is definitely a wide choice of flavors! The funnel fries are WOW just like funnel cake! Delicious and crispy for sure the season fries and fried okra is a great compliment to the chicken and they even give a little bit of sauces to go with the chicken DEFINITELY use the sauce to cover the chicken it is worth it! So if you're looking for something new in Alexandria / Annandale area this place is a MUST try! My wife and I will definitely be back soon :)

The store was empty but took over 40 minutes for 18 wings. Every time I'd ask how long it'll be they kept saying 5 minutes. Very unorganized.

Got delivery for lunch on a weekend. Ordered the chicken sandwich in wrap form, and it was quite nice. Big discreet pieces of chicken, and the hangry sauce was ok, though I think I would leave it out in the future and just use a non-mayo-based hot sauce. Waffle fries that I got just to complete the experience were fine, nothing special. The delivery was fast and the items arrived relatively warm. I have not gone to Nashville and would assume that comparing this to that would be a fool's errand, but for a chicken sandwich delivered to my door this was pretty nice, certainly better than fast food joints.

Food is good but waiting time is too long, took 40 minutes. It's better to order ahead of time.

If you are coming to Annandale with a fried chicken concept, you better bring your best. Annandale has a plethora of fried chicken wings/strip/sandwich options, with Korean Fried Chicken wings, and many bars/restaurants that aren't Korean that have solid wing options. In comes Hangry Joe's, a fast expanding fast-casual chain that is Korean-owned, trying to replicate the Nashville Hot Chicken. How does it stack up? Well, I've been to Nashville, and had their best Nashville hot chicken options, the infamous Hattie B's, Prince's hot chicken (that invented it), and Party Fowl. I've also had the infamous Howlin' Ray's in LA, which has hours-long waits for their Nashville Hot Chicken in Chinatown (and totally worth it). While their page says the owners traveled to all of the most famous Nashville Hot Chicken recipes and perfected their own concoction, unfortunately, I don't think it stacks up to the Nashville Hot Chicken I've tried. Nashville hot chicken has a little bit of sauce while still maintaining its crispiness, here it's more of a dryrub without the sauce. One thing they DO get right is the heat level. Nashville hot chicken is pretty spicy, and their hot level is appropriately spicy. I eat pretty spicy and usually, whenever I go to chains, their hot is more like a mild to a mild-medium, and I usually have to get extra spicy. Here, the hot level does feature real heat, habanero peppers that burned my lips and fingers a little bit (but not my tongue b/c I have that tolerance). So just a note for those of you who like to eat spicy, know that their hot is actually pretty hot. Their hangry sauce is pretty good as well, but the chicken here just didn't scratch my Nashville Hot Chicken itch. I got their wings, but I did hear their chicken sandos are their signature, so I'll probably give that a shot sometime. Their waffle fries were also not cooked enough. It was not crispy and tasted undone, definitely not good. It's only soft opening so I expect them to get better, and if they are reading this, I would make sure their waffle fries are fried more and make sure they are crispy.

Ew. I've been eyeing this restaurant for awhile am since I visit Annandale seldomly and I've tried the Hangry Joe's in Fairfax which is fantastic, so wanted to give this a go. I just ordered the classic chicken sandwich.... Man was a i disappointed. Just like another reviewer mentioned, the chicken tasted rubbery!! I didn't finish the sandwich, went over to Chick-fil-A a block over to finish my chicken sandwich cravings, and called it a day. Even Popeyes chicken sandwich for half-price is better than this sandwich, and it's right across the street. Either go to the location in Fairfax, or don't come here for your chicken sandwich needs...

Have frequently been to Hangry Joe's Fairfax location, so I was very excited to learn that there was a location opening in Annandale! Coming in the store it was very clean and service was very prompt, didn't have to wait too long and the staff called us over when our food was ready. I got the Angry Hot level of spice, which is the hottest option, and it was definitely spicy, but not unbearable (I would like to think I have a high spice tolerance), it was similar to the Flippin' Hot at Hot Lola's. The chicken was super juicy and the tenders were hot and crispy, and the waffles were amazing as well, very close in flavor and texture to a funnel cake, dense and delicious! They gave syrup, butter, and their Hangry Sauce, all of which worked great with the meal. One thing that really stood out was that even through all the spice, you could still taste the flavor of their dry rub, which I appreciated. Also got to try the Mac and Cheese, and it was good, but not perfect. It was cheesy and buttery, but I felt like it could use a cheesier and richer sauce so the pickled jalapenos could contrast the richness. It had a good spice, and the top had a nice crispness with the cheese sprinkled on top. Overall, a great start for this location during a soft opening, and I'm sure it'll get even better with time!
